Founded by two IIT Delhi alumni, Shivani Singh Kapoor and Sanjeeva Shivesh, ThinkStartup is a new age education platform for school students. It provides a variety of programs for youth such as communication, design, entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership to prepare them for 21st century skills. ThinkStartup is recognised by MEPSC, an entrepreneurship skills council under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. It is also a partner of Atal Innovation Mission for setting up Entrepreneurship Labs in schools.

A few of its programs are offered in partnership with reputed institutions such as FITT – The IIT Delhi incubator, TIDES – The IIT Roorkee Incubator, PIEDS – BITS Pilani Incubator among several others. It also runs India’s first startup incubator for school students where bright minds try to build their dream projects.ThinkStartup also runs Youth Ideathon, India’s largest innovation competition for K12 schools in partnership with the Central Board for Secondary Education.

‘RUNNER UP’  AT THE ANNUAL INTER-SCHOOL ECONOMIC FEST- ECONFLUENCE 2022

Lomash Sharma of Class XII-S won the ‘Runner Up’ award in the Surprise event at the annual Inter-school Economic Fest- Econfluence 2022 at Delhi Public School Mathura Road. The Surprise event, held on 12th October 2022, consisted of 2 rounds- a current affairs quiz and a treasure hunt across the school’s campus.  He was awarded a trophy and certificate for the same.

Topic: Illuminating Your Path

‘To be a star, you must walk your own path, shine your own light and not be afraid of the darkness, that’s when a star shines the brightest’ (Joel Brown). Our Assembly topic ‘Illuminate your path’ was based on the upcoming festival of lights- Diwali. Through the programme the reason for celebrating Diwali and the new perspective was highlighted. A message of  ‘Firecracker free Diwali’ and ‘Say no to Plastics’ was conveyed.’I illuminate my path’ endorsed the fact that to have a successful future one has to be focused, resilient ,have passion, desire to improve, be optimistic, persistent, observant and be mentally and physically fit. The Comperes were Eva Agarwal, Aditya Raj, Parth Sanan, Vivaan Goyal(Class XII K),Avihan & Mayank  (Class XII L),Ganesh Vandana by Shubhika, Thought For the Day was by Aashima & Aman, News by Garv & Tunav.Diwali Message was by Tanisha, Shiksha, Swastika. Dance Performance to depict Ravan’s life was by  Hariom, Rishika, Vanla and Lanchenba. ‘Counting Stars’ was sung by : Aarushi, Eva, Pranav, Priyanshi, Pingaksh, Anubhav, Gaureka, Manan, Armaan, Atishay, Pingaksh. The new perspective was by  Mayank Shandilya & Arshia Gupta, Self composed Poem by Vanshika Shah . National level Winners of various events ,Prachi Tokas, Garima,Jeeval Kukreja, Samarth Kumar shared their experiences of overcoming  challenges to be  the winners.Gratitude was by Vanya Garg. E- Invite was by Aryan & Ayush, Folders were made by Shambhavi Bisht, Jeeval & Kavisha. Presentation was by Krish and Mayank Shandalya. Invite & Board was done by Vikramaditya

Topic: The Season of Festivities – A Time of Togetherness

The season of festivities is upon us. It’s a time to celebrate these special moments with our loved ones. Festivals offer a welcome break from the stress and monotony of life. They are a perfect time to reflect on our blessings.These occasions become even more special when we celebrate them together with our family and friends. 

The assembly commenced with the morning prayer by Naina, Diya , Naisha, Mysha, Armaan Singh, Arnav, Advay, Amit, Pranay, Rayaana, Saksham, Sanav, Tisya, Abhaas, Arhaan , Lakshita , Praneel, Samaira, Siyona, Vivaan and Vanya. This was followed by an introduction by Avni, followed by the “Thought for the day” shared by Harshita. Ayaan recited a meaningful Shloka and Saksham explained the essence of the Shloka. 

News Update was given by Devraj, Vaishnavi, Arjan and Rishita. Next in line were Speeches by Anay, Shreyansh, Ruhee, Reyansh and Chirag followed by the recitation of a beautiful Self Composed Poem by Siddhi. Next was a lively folk dance performance by Aanya, Avni (X L), Shanaya, Smera, Advaitt, Ryaan, Mahik, Aashna, Ekam, Kangna and Tanveer. This was followed by a presentation of very soothing Instrumental music by Advaya on the keyboard, accompanied by Ahaan on clap box, Inesh, Ranbir, Preksha, Lakshay on the guitar, and Oihik on tabla. 

Script was written by Chirag, Reyansh, Ruhee and Shaurya. The comperes of the programme were Aanya, Avni (10 L), Diptanshu, Gaurish , Naina, Nandin, Sarthak, Shanaya, Avni (X M) Ishan, Samriddhi.The folders, cards and board were made by Naina, Shanaya, Naisha, Tisya, Aashna, Siyona, Avni and Kangna. The powerpoint presentation was made by Rihit, Jivya, Sanaa and Shaurya. E-invite and technical support was provided by Rihit.

Topic: Ramayana – Lord Rama’s Homecoming

‘The only way to build a future is to look at the blueprints of the past.’ The assembly served to remind the audience of their cultural roots. Through a musical presentation of the Ramayana, on the festive occasion of Diwali, the students conveyed the importance of honesty, courage, and ethics.

The compering was done by Anoushka and Aadhya. Dhvani, Divyakshi, Oorja, Priyangana, Kavya, Lun, Ananya, Ashni, Garima, Melinda, Vir, and Parvi sang the Ram Bhajan. Ashmita, Rabbani, Chehak, Ananya, and Prageet performed a beautiful Ganesh Vandana dance. The news was read by Anoushka, Palak, Navya, and Shaurya. Ashmita, Arnav, Arushee, Oorja, Pradyun, Suhani, Prageet, Kalpit, Shristi, Navyaa. Sumit, Prince, Nikhil, Anurag, Namca, Abbas, Ayush, Alisha, Ananya, and Palak played various roles and narrators in the musical Ramayana. 

The soft board was created by Rishita and Arnav. Deepitark and Raghav compiled the PPT. Rishita made the folders, and the cards were made by Chehak and Maisha. Ayush designed the E-Invite. Dhvani, Shristi, Ananya, Melinda, Anoushka, and Ayush decorated the AVH. The assembly was a reflection of the morals inculcated in our society, today. The principal, vice-principal, class representatives, and class teachers addressed the audience. The event concluded with the school anthem and the national anthem.

WINNERS INTER-SCHOOL SQUASH TOURNAMENT 

DPS R K Puram Squash team participated in an Inter-School Squash tournament held at Pathways School Noida Sector 100 from 20th to 24th April 2022. Shaurya Gautam of class X Fand Yuvaditya Jain of class IX  K secured the 1st position in the under-15 Team

GOLD MEDAL, IN DELHI STATE KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP – 2022 

Jeeval Kukreja of class XII-L has won a Gold Medal, in the Delhi State Karate Championship – 2022 which was recently conducted by the Karate Association of Delhi. Through this she has now been selected to represent Delhi in the upcoming National Championship, to be held at Pune. She has been consistently winning accolades in various Indian and world International events for the past 3 years. She had the immense honour of representing India on the world stage, at Venice, Karate 1 Youth League ( conducted by the World Karate Federation) last year in December 2021 Her current world ranking is ‘165th’.She has also won 2 Gold Medals at the National Karate Championship at Goa – 2021, conducted by the Karate Association of India.

Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram, under the aegis of the DPS society, hosted the Annual Inter-DPS IT Fest 2022 on Wednesday, 12 October 2022. The event was a huge success, bringing together students, alumni, and faculty across 30 schools of the DPS family. 

 

The event began with the lighting of the lamp in the presence of the Joint Director, Ms Dolly Chanana, Principal  Ms Padma Srinivasan, teachers from DPS Schools, and Computer Science teachers of the school followed by the inauguration of the event. Mr Mukesh Kumar, the Vice-Principal of Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram and the teacher-in-charge of Exun, welcomed the Joint Director and the participants. 

  Mr Ankit Wadhwa, the co-founder and CEO of Rario encouraged the students to explore the possibilities open to them. This was followed by a speech by Arun Yadav, the Head of New Initiatives at Skoar! who spoke about the burgeoning gaming industry, and the relevance of technological advancements and e-sports in the contemporary world. 

 

The events of IT Fest were held in a hybrid mode, with a total of 4 events. 

 

DeCryptonite – Participants decoded cryptic clues to finish the maximum number of tasks in a 36-hour online scavenger hunt, from 6 October 2022 to 7 October 2022.

The fast-paced finale round of the quizzing competition was closely followed by the Valedictory Ceremony. The Principal, Ms Padma Srinivasan felicitated the chief guest and judges. In her address, she spoke about the importance of technology in today’s world. She added that technology was the way ahead and it was events like these that helped reduce the digital divide. 

 

The Chief Guest, Mr V. K. Shunglu, the chairman of the DPS society, addressed the gathering. He congratulated the students and commended their knowledge of new and exciting technology, comparing the event to a feeling of being in the Matrix. At the denouement, prizes and certificates were awarded to all the participants. The event concluded with the national anthem, that culminated a day of learning and exploring.
