                                               ऐक्यं बलं समाजस्या तदभावे स दुर्बलः ।

                                               तस्मात् ऐक्यं प्रशंसन्ति दृढं राश्त्र हितैषिणः ॥

‘Unity is the strength of any society and it (society) is weak without it. Hence those who wish for the good of the nation strongly praise unity.’

Sardar Patel played a key role in the integration of about 565 princely states into the Indian Union.Few princely states like Travancore, Hyderabad, Junagadh, Bhopal and Kashmir were averse to joining the state of India.Sardar Patel worked tirelessly to build a consensus with the princely states but did not hesitate in employing methods of Sama, Dama, Dand and Bhed wherever necessary. Thus he came to be known as the Iron man of India.

Under the able guidance of the  Principal Ms. Padma Srinivasan and the head of the History department , Mrs. Shruti Mishra, The History Society held an event on Unity Day to remember and commemorate the life and achievements of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.Starting the ceremony, the  Principal Vice Principals ,Head Mistresses and the teachers lit incense sticks as a tribute to Sardar Patel and a Picture exhibition  that included the life story and interesting information about him was opened for the students and teachers.A beautiful short movie on his journey was made by the members of History Society and Audarya Gupta was played for the students of various grades. This movie showed the childhood, sacrifice towards family and nation, political life and immense contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It later had a scenic view of the statue of unity that was accompanied by a melodious patriotic song sung by Oorja Akshara.

Viewing the video by students inculcated a robust feeling of Patriotism and helped them know more about the Architecture of India
