Bio Whiz Quiz 2021

The Bio Whiz Quiz was organized by Inquisitio, the Biology Club in association with Plasmid, the Biotechnology Club, on 26th November 2021, at 5.30 pm. The quiz was put together for all students of classes X to XII. To express their endless passion for Biology, and to strengthen their existing knowledge on the same, the event saw participation from 11 teams of 2 participants each. 

The event was hosted by Aadrita XII A, the President of Inquisitio, who was the quizmaster for the day. Her team included Archisha Bansal XII D (President) who was the moderator, Tejaswi Sharma XII A (Vice President) who designed the slides, Smiti Chawla XII B (Vice President) and Shubhika Pandey XI L (Biotechnology Club) who were the scorekeepers. After the rules of the competition were introduced, the teams began actively participating in the quiz. The rounds were as follows: 

Round 1: Multiple Choice Questions, 

Round 2: Audio-Visual Questions, 

Round 3: Identification Questions, 

Round 4: Rapid-Fire (based on themes) 

All the teams, as well as the audience, had an impressive knowledge of the subject and answered questions promptly and accurately. There were plenty of questions for the audience, who were especially delightful and full of energy.

After a tough competition among all the teams and following a set of tiebreakers, the 1st position was bagged by Parth Kumar and Sneha Chandra of XI D, followed by Prathamesh and Aditi of XI D at the 2nd position, and Parmarth and Nysa of XI D at 3rd position

 The Vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Niva Chhonkar who offered words of appreciation for all. The Club incharges Ms. Kajal Sethi and Ms. Kusum Yadav also addressed the gathering before concluding the event. It was a day of enjoyment and learning, and all those who were present went home with some new knowledge about the subject.

Term 1 Examinations – Instructions for the parents

FOR CANDIDATES(STUDENTS) OF CLASSES X AND XII

  • They should ensure that their ward is carrying the following while going to the examination centre.
  1. pocket hand sanitizer in a transparent bottle, 
  2. pair of hand gloves
  3. transparent bottle with drinking water 
  4. permissible stationary items only 
  • They should ensure that their ward has covered their nose and mouth with a face mask
  • They should guide their ward to follow social distancing norms strictly.
  • They should instruct their ward not to exchange or loan articles
  • They should ensure that their ward uses a safe mode of transportation for going to the examination centre and returning back home. 
  • They should instruct their ward to follow all instructions displayed in school and conveyed to them. In case their ward is not feeling well, they should consult the doctor and act as per the advice given by him/her.
  • They should instruct their ward to avoid contact with unknown persons
  • They should instruct their ward to throw used tissue/ disposable face masks into closed bins immediately after use.
  • They should guide their ward on the other important guidelines issued by Government of India to avoid spreading of COVID-19 and to protect themselves.

Guru Nanak’s Birthday

It is hereby informed that Delhi Public School, RK Puram, East of Kailash and Vasant Vihar will remain closed on Friday 19th November, 2021 on account of Guru Nanak’s Birthday.

All students and staff members are informed to make a note of the above accordingly.

Topic – Guru Nanak Jayanti

As the whole country prepares itself to celebrate Guru Nanak Jayanti, the students of  class VII G too decided to learn more about it and share it with others. The Class Presentation began with a beautiful hymn recited by Aekagra Sondhi and translated by Ashvik Gohri, followed by introduction of the theme by Aanya Sehgal and Nischay Rawat. Ritwik Gupta sang the melodious song Ek Onkar’. This was followed by an interesting and true story called ‘value of life’ by Myra Singh, Aarav devrani, Aditya Sahrawat, Ishpreet Singh Sachdeva, Aarav Ahluwalia, Myra Anand, Riddhi Jain, Siddhi Jain, Garv Daga, Saisha Bajaj, Daman Preet, Neil Sindwani and Madhav Goyal on Guru Nanakji’s life and followed by the moral of the story in the end. Then Myra Anand, Khwashish Tokas and Ayon Choudhary shared inspiring thoughts on the importance of Guru. The presentation was concluded by Rayna Sharma with a vote of thanks. The vibrant e-invite was prepared by Pulkit Narain, Nischay Rawat, Shreya Walia, Anandita Rochlani, Siddhi Jain, Ayon Choudhary, Jaiveer. The audies were compiled by Riddhi Jain.

Topic: THE CONCEPT OF TIME IN INDIAN PHILOSOPHY

Envisaging the cyclical and relative concept of time as depicted in Indian philosophy puts us the observer at the centre of the universe. In spirit with this philosophical thought Class IX N unfolded a part of their unlimited talent. The presentation began with a warm welcome by Divyam Kapoor followed by the morning prayer rendered by Shiven Kanodia and Venika Ajith.The thoughts of the day were presented by Parth Sarthy Goyal and Ritika Tiwari followed by the speech on the concept of time in Indian philosophy and its application in real life delivered by Ira Bhattacharya, Shresth Singh, Ayaan Jamal, Aarush Aggarwal and Navya Datt. A melodious song extending this concept to life was sung by Saisha Mahesh. The comperes were Ayaan Jamal,Shresth Singh,Aarush Aggarwal,Jia Gupta and Vanshika Khatri.Creative designing of the PPT and the e-invite was undertaken by Ria Upadhyay, Purnima, Aarush Aggarwal and Navyasha Sinha .Parth Sarthy Goyal compiled and edited the PPT while the synchronization of the entire assembly and the vote of thanks was delivered by Aarush Aggarwal.

Topic:  Adya Shakti Namostute’ Salutations to the Divine Mother

Devi Durga , the epitome of strength that vanquishes all evil is worshiped and her legend is celebrated throughout the country during the Navratri. It was therefore very apt and relevant that students of XI Q presented their modern day manifestations of Maa Durga in the form of Naari Shakti – women empowerment.The class presentation commenced with greetings and welcome by Aryan Mehra followed by salutations to the Divine Mother by chanting of shloka by Tara Aggarwal, the meaning of which was explained beautifully by Apurva Thakur. The significance of the eighth day of Navratri was given by Arica Kaur.Devi Durga symbolises the eternal divine energy, the story that celebrates Durga as Aadi Shakti was narrated by Heeba Hilal. This was followed by a speech on Women empowerment by Samishti Mangla and Poem on Nari Shakti by Md. Shoban Ahmad.Thought for the day was  by Shashwat Shivam. Tara Aggarwal offered a prayer to Devi Durga in her melodious voice. The presentation concluded with a vote of thanks by Tanvi Chopra .E- Invite was made by Jahnavi Mondreti, invite video was done by Arica Kaur, Chhavi Aggarwal and Aryan Verma.Background music in presentation was given by Aryan Mehra. Devi Durga art work was done by Priyanjali Malhotra.
