FIRST POSITION IN DISTRICT LEVEL ORCHESTRA COMPETITION

The District Level Orchestra Competition was held at (GS Co-Ed) SSSS, Sector-6, R.K. Puram, New Delhi on 03 November 2025. The event brought together talented young musicians from various schools, celebrating India’s rich instrumental heritage.

The orchestra team from Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram delivered a powerful and well-synchronized performance in the category of Indian Instruments , showcasing exceptional mastery over Indian classical and folk instruments. Their musical coordination, stage discipline, and artistic expression impressed the judges and the audience alike.

The team secured the First Position, marking a proud achievement and highlighting the school’s dedication to musical excellence.

On Tuesday, November 4, 2025 the students of classes XI I and XI J presented their assembly on the theme “The Seven Virtues of DPS RK Puram”, portraying a vivid picture of the virtues and morals taught at DPS RK Puram to celebrate its esteemed reputation as 53 year old institution.The assembly commenced with a soulful morning prayer – “अच्युतम केशवम कृष्ण दामोदरम” by Agaran R Prasana, Aiesha Arora, Anwita Jaiswal, Aviraj Aggarwal, Bhavyay Malhotra, Harnoor Sachdeva,Naorem Tusita Devi, Sanna Sehgal, Vansh Choudhary, Vedanth Sadh, Priyanshi, Raghavi Rao, Adarsh Jha, Shaurya Verma, Aadrit Chandravanci, Kathith Sethi, Sujal Kumar Jena, Arav Singhal .The morning prayer was followed by the mesmerizing Shiv Tandav dance performed by Aditri Thakur. 

The news headlines, including the international, national, sports, and weather news were read by Rithym Ghosh, Vedant Patil, Sanna Sehgal and Shaarav Tandon respectively. The gathering was enlightened with the thought for the day by Shreshtha and Md. Armaan Firdousi. The program moved forward with soulful renditions of poems in Hindi by Aditya Garg & Aarav Khattar and in English by Kashvi Wadhwa and Mayra Yadav. This was followed by a short film edited by Aiesha Arora and Harnoor Sachdeva where Nishika Taneja, Kathith Sethi, envisioned where they see themselves in the next 10 years. Afterwards, speeches were given by Shriyadita Singh and Arav Singhal, weaving together the school’s legacy of intellect, compassion and excellence. 

The vibrant band added energy to the assembly, captivating the audience. Nishika Taneja, Harnoor Sachdeva and Naysa Gupta were the vocalists, Mrigank Kohli, Rai Rudrapati Ray, Shivansh Gupta and Nandika Sharma played the guitar, Vedant Patil played the keyboard, and Myra Singh played the violin. The programme ended with a short act on Seven Virtues, performed by Sanna Sehgal (Confidence), Aadrit Chandravanci (Perseverance), Maishaa Minocha (Empathy), Vansh Choudhary (Curiosity), Shaurya Verma (Integrity), Aiesha Arora (Creativity), Kathith Sethi (Gratitude) and Shriya Sawhney.The comperes for the assembly were Rai Rudrapati Ray, Sanskriti Singh, Mrigank Kohli and Pranika Singh. The folders were made by Raghavi Rao and Adarsh Jha. The invitation cards were made by Priyanshi and Pranika Singh. The board decorations were done by Raghavi Rao, Priyanshi and Adarsh Jha. The e-invite was designed by Rannak Singhal. The digital presentation was made by Rannak Singhal and Siddharth Joshi. The assembly concluded with the school anthem followed by the national anthem.

Second  Position In the National Level ‘Robotics for Good Youth Challenge India 2025’

Yadnya Sagar of class VII-J, member of the ‘RoboKnights’ club of Delhi Public School R.K.Puram, participated in the National level  ‘Robotics for Good Youth Challenge India 2025’ robotics competition organised by IHFC, the technology incubation centre of IIT Delhi, in association with International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Ministry of Telecommunication India on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th October 2025  as part of India Mobile Congress (IMC) at Yashobhoomi, India International Convention & Expo Centre, Dwarka, New Delhi, India and bagged the National Second position.

DIWALI SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

“Let the light of Diwali inspire you to shine brighter every day.”

Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram celebrated the festival of lights with great warmth and enthusiasm by organizing a Special Assembly for the students of Classes VI to XII on October 17, 2025. Adding to the festive spirit, students came dressed in vibrant ethnic attire, radiating joy and colour across the campus.

The celebration began with a soulful prayer presented by the Indian Choir. Their melodious voices filled the air with serenity, invoking a sense of peace and devotion.

This was followed by a mesmerising dance performance that left the audience spellbound. The dancers’ synchronized movements, expressive gestures, and lively energy beautifully captured the essence of Diwali — a festival that celebrates the triumph of light over darkness.

The Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar, addressed the gathering. In his inspiring message, he emphasized the significance of Diwali as a time to spread joy, kindness, and positivity. He urged the students to embody the festival’s spirit in their daily lives by fostering unity, compassion, and goodwill within the community.

The assembly concluded with a devotional aarti, performed with heartfelt reverence, providing a perfect and spiritually uplifting end to the celebration.

Assembly XI-G & XI-M (31-10-2025)

TOPIC: “LEGACY OF HUMAN INTELLECT AT DPS RKP”

ECHOES OF EXCELLENCE

On Friday, 31st of October 2025, the students of classes XI-G and XI-M presented their class assembly on the topic – “LEGACY OF DPS R. K. PURAM – ECHOES OF EXCELLENCE.

The class assembly began with a soulful morning prayer-‘ Tu hi ram hai Tu Rahim hai ‘ which was sung by Shreyam Tripathy, Aarav Devrani, Adhiraj Singh, Aishwaray Raj Gupta, Amit Kumar, Arsh Sinha, Anika Agarwal, Apoorva Singh, Mrinalini Choudhary, Sarnav Aggarwal, seeking the blessings of the Almighty for a new and productive day. Prayer was followed by a skit based on the time travel of 3 scientists -Nikhil,  Atharv Vats and Darsh Raheja.

The aim of the assembly was to help students understand the meaning of legacy and inspire them to think about the kind of legacy they wish to leave behind. The assembly was further energized by a dance performance by Tarushi Tomar ,Siddhani Parwal, Rishima Dhamija, Sia Sharma, Ishita Saikia and Akshita Dua.

Music is the strongest form of magic” and that magic was spread by the song “Viva La Vida” which was sung by Shreyam Tripathy, Aarav Devrani, Adhiraj Singh, Anika Agarwal, Apoorva Singh, Mrinalini Choudhary and  Sarnav Aggarwal was on  Guitar ,Tanishq Pandey and Jasmeet Singh on Violin, Tarushi Tomar on Ukulele, Arsh Sinha on Keyboard and Shreeansh on Drums. The news presenters Swaraj Singh Dudi, Arjun Pal Singh, Navyansh and Jishnu  shared the latest national, international, weather and sports news updates to keep everyone informed about current events. Thought of the day was shared by Arnav Chitale. The speech was presented by Tanay Vashisht. 

A Heartfelt self composed poem by KEERAZ ABDULRASHID DESAI on LEGACY was recited which resonated deeply with the audience. Narrator of the skit was Arnav Sakshya. Skit was written by Tanay Thapar, Ojas Ahuja, Aayush Sharma, Rishima Dhamija, The comperes of the programme were Keeraz Abdulrashid Desai, Navya Nagpal , Amishi Singh and Milind Agarwal. Skit anchor was Tarushi Tomar. The folders were  made by Navya Nagpal and Tarushi Tomar. Handmade invites were made by Aarohi and Kanupriya.The e-invites were made by Aayush Sharma, Meer and Ojas Ahuja. The softboard was prepared by Tarushi Tomar and Navya Nagpal. The digital presentation for the assembly was made by Aayush Sharma, Meer, Anant Jha, Anant Sodhi, Kartikeya Goel.

Gandhi Smriti Competition

Gandhi Smriti Competition (Swachhata Hi Seva) was held on 30 October 2025 at Gandhi Darshan, Rajghat . Organised by the Ministry of Culture, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 41 schools across Delhi, all coming together to promote the values of cleanliness, harmony, and Gandhian philosophy through music.

The Group Song team from Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram presented a meaningful and melodious rendition aligned with the theme of Swachhata Hi Seva. Their performance was appreciated for its harmony, expression, and powerful message, earning them the 2nd Position among all participating schools.They received a cash prize of Rs. 5000 , certificates and books.

The event served as a platform for students to not only display musical talent but also deepen their understanding of Gandhian values and civic responsibility.

Western Dance Competition at Cambridge School, Indirapuram

Danceverse, the Inter-school Western Dance Competition at Verve 2025 was hosted by Cambridge School, Indirapuram on 19 August 2025. Diya Mishra of XI S represented the school and secured the First Position. She delivered an outstanding and innovative performance, bringing pride and laurel to the school.

The Bosco Fiesta 2025

The Annual Performing Arts competition, ‘The Bosco Fiesta 2025’ was hosted by Don Bosco School, Alaknanda on 22 and 28 August 2025. Eight talented students from DPS R.K. Puram represented the school in the Western Dance category and secured the First Position. The participants were Jiya Chaudhary (XII-V), Trisha Takkar (XII-O), Anushree Chakraborty (XI-U), Akshainiae Agarwal (XI-E), Diya Mishra (XI-S), Arshia Elza Kuriyan (XI-H), Aadya Singh (XI-U) and Kianna Grover (IX-L).

In the Folk dance category, six students participated and won the Second Prize. The participants were Aradhana Prakash Ranjan (XI-H), Pallavi Singh (XI-H), Rudransh Kaushik (XI-P), Sahil Rai (XI-S), Laavanya Verma (XI-P) and Apurva Rani (XI-H). DPS R.K. Puram was also awarded the ‘Overall Highest Achievers’ Trophy’.

INTER-DPS NATIONAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT FOR GIRLS (OPEN) 2025

Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram hosted the Inter-DPS National Football Tournament for Girls (Open) from 30th September to 1st October 2025, witnessing participation from 36 Delhi Public Schools across the country. The tournament embodied a true national spirit, with teams hailing from Jammu and Kashmir in the north to Karnataka in the south, Gujarat in the west to West Bengal in the east.

The opening ceremony, held on 30th September 2025, commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the hoisting of the DPS Flag. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed and felicitated which was followed by an address by the Principal, Shri Anil Kumar. The Chief Guest, Ms Dolly Chanana, Joint Director, DPS Society, inspired the gathering with her motivating words. The oath-taking ceremony, led by the Football Sports Captains, was followed by team introductions and the official declaration of the tournament’s commencement, marked by the release of balloons and the National Anthem.

Over the next two days, 36 exciting matches unfolded, showcasing exceptional skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship among the young players.

The closing ceremony was held on 1st October 2025, beginning with the felicitation of guests and a warm welcome in the auditorium. The event opened with a poetic tribute to courage and athletic spirit, followed by a soulful performance by the Western Choir. Inspiring speeches by the Principal, Mr Anil Kumar and the Guest of Honour, Ms Dolly Chanana, Joint Director, DPS Society, further elevated the spirit of the players.

The highlight of the ceremony was the much-awaited prize distribution ceremony. The ‘Player of the Tournament’ award was presented to Chinmayi of DPS Bangalore East. The second runner-up trophies were awarded to DPS Whitefield Bangalore and DPS R.K. Puram, while DPS Navi Mumbai secured the runner-up position. The champions of the tournament, DPS Bangalore East, lifted the coveted trophy amidst resounding applause.

Thereafter, the Chief Guest, Shri V. K. Shunglu, Chairman of the DPS Society, officially declared the tournament closed. The ceremonial flag was lowered, followed by the vote of thanks which acknowledged the efforts of all the dignitaries, coaches, teachers and participants. The event concluded with the National Anthem, marking an end of three days of discipline, camaraderie and sporting excellence.

Historical and Educational Trip to France and Germany

An educational trip to France and Germany was organized by Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram from October 2 to October 6, 2025, as part of the school’s ongoing endeavour to promote experiential learning through direct exposure to world history and culture.

The journey commenced in Paris, where students explored the city’s rich historical legacy through the Paris Nazi History Tour. The tour provided valuable insights into France’s experiences during the Second World War. The students visited several significant sites associated with the Nazi occupation:

  1. Hôtel Meurice – Headquarters of Commandant Gross Paris
  2. Place Vendôme (Hôtel Ritz) – Headquarters of the Luftwaffe
  3. Concorde Square (Hôtel Crillon) – Site of the Feldgendarmerie Court and Kommandantur
  4. Hôtel Majestic, Avenue Kléber – Headquarters of the MBF (Militärbefehlshaber in Frankreich)
  5. Arc de Triomphe and Avenue des Champs-Élysées – Centre of wartime propaganda and student resistance
  6. 93 Rue Lauriston – Headquarters of the Gestapo in Paris
  7. Memorial for Deported Children – Dedicated to the young victims of the Nazi occupation
  8. Memorial for Deported Victims – Honouring the 200,000 French victims deported to Nazi camps

The day concluded with a visit to the Eiffel Tower, an enduring symbol of human creativity and innovation, followed by a serene Seine River Cruise, which offered a breathtaking view of Paris’s architectural splendour illuminated at night.

The next day was devoted to the creative and modern side of France, with an excursion to Disneyland Paris, where students experienced joy, imagination, and teamwork in a vibrant and magical atmosphere.

On the third day, students explored France’s royal and artistic heritage. The group visited the Palace of Versailles, where they witnessed the grandeur of the French monarchy and reflected on the origins of the French Revolution. Later, a guided tour of the Louvre Museum provided an opportunity to admire world-renowned masterpieces such as Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo, deepening their appreciation for art and history.

The following morning, the group travelled by train to Munich, Germany, where a guided city tour familiarised them with the country’s cultural and historical significance. The final day was marked by a solemn visit to the Dachau Concentration Camp, where students reflected on the harsh realities of the Holocaust—an experience that left a lasting impact and reinforced the universal values of peace, compassion, and human dignity.

Overall, the trip proved to be a memorable and transformative learning experience, successfully combining recreation with education. It not only deepened students’ understanding of global history and culture but also inspired in them a sense of empathy and appreciation for the values that uphold humanity.
