The Business and Economics Society of Sanskriti School hosted a comprehensive Economics and Business quiz on 2 August 2024, comprising two engaging rounds. The preliminary round featured a Multiple-Choice Question segment and a thrilling Buzzer sub-round. The final round consisted of diverse challenges, including Deal No Deal, Guess the Company or Famous Personality, and a fast-paced Rapid-Fire segment. The event required in-depth knowledge of economics, finance, and current affairs related to business. It fostered teamwork and collaboration, highlighting the significance of unity and collective effort in achieving success. The team’s efforts led them to win the first prize at the event.

Cinemania competition under Infinitus 2024 was hosted by DPS Ghaziabad Meerut Road in July 2024. It involved the making of a short film including pictures detailing the various competitions hosted in the event. In this competition members of DIGEX Sonam Lhadon and Ishan Garg managed to secure the first position.
TOPIC: “TOGETHER WE CAN”
Inspired by Hellen Keller, an icon of resilience and determination who once said – “Alone we can do so little, together so much”, the Assembly of IX M and IX N ‘Together We Can’ embodied the spirit of Unity and Friendship – by showcasing all that we can achieve by overlooking our differences and walking together as a community. Cooperation and collaboration is a skill and a value that enables us to build relationships and work as a team to resolve conflicts and achieve our common goals.
The Assembly began on a positive note with the morning prayer sung by Aaryav, Amaira, Anaisha, Antarjot, Arjun, Jasjeev, Nathan, Ray, Reaansh, Vihaan, Arnav, Aryamman, Atulya, Ishaan Arora, Aarush and Ishaan Trivedi. It was followed by a classical dance performance on Durga Vandana by Aanya, Vani, Giaa and Ananya Malhotra. Thought of the Day was by Suyasha and it was translated in Spanish by Jai Singh Bal. Shloka was recited in Sanskrit by Varun and was translated in english by Medhansh. News was read by Aarav, Arjun, Adrian and Ayaan.
Siyona, Vani, Medhansh Pandaya and Aryamman expressed their creativity through self composed poems and speech. This was followed by a dance performance showcasing the coming together of the five natural elements that comprise the world around us. It was performed by Aanya, Vani, Anika, Aditi, Guneet, Aanya Gupta, Aanya Moulik, Amairaa, Ananya Malhotra, Giaa, Meghna, Saanvi Mahajan, Sakshi and Shifa. The students through a skit portrayed how good company and true friendship can positively impact our lives. The team performing the skit included Aavya, Mannan, Gaurika, Sabal, Samarth Bansal, Reaansh, Manya, Maayrra, Sidharth, Aahana, Aarvi, Aryaveer and Aviral.
Lastly, we had a soulful performance by the Western Choir on ‘We are the World’ and this was sung by Aarav, Aaryav, Amaira, Arhaan, Anaisha, Divija, Guneet, Jasjeev, Nathan, Pranet, Ray, Rishan, Samaira, Samarth Gupta, Sidharth, Vansh, Varun, Vihaan, Aanvi, Aarush, Ananya Goyal, Ananya Shome, Ishaan Trivedi, Maahi(instrumental), Rianna, Ridhaan, Ritika, Sanvi Mehra, Suhaani, and Vanshika.
The colourful digital presentation was created by Afraaz, Ishaan Arora, Aavya, Gaurika and Samarth Bansal. The invites and folders were made by Ananya Goyal, Ananya Malhotra, Vanshikha, Suhaani, Ritika, Aanya, Aarav, Divija, Ragini,Suyasha,Samaira, Jasjeev and Antarjot. The soft board presentation was contributed by Aanvi, Amairaa, Sanaya, Sanvi Mehra, Sifat, Zayan and Arjun. The comperes of the event were Nanya, Ragini, Pranit and Deepansh.
Collaborating with the NGO, ‘Chintan’ under the project ‘My City,My Green Action’ Biology Department of DPS RK Puram organized an engaging workshop on 30th July,2024 for Students of Classes VI to VIII of DPS RKPuram on growing nutritious plants at home. The workshop provided a platform to learn about seasonal plants, method of preparation of soil and methods of sowing seeds. Common useful seeds of Amaranthus, Fenugreek, Moong dal were used to grow plants. Ways of growing Microgreens was also explained and demonstrated. Students actively participated in the hands-on preparation of soil and sowing of seeds.
Under the leadership of our Principal, Ms Padma Srinivasan , planning by the Head – Biology , Ms Niva Chhonkar, the activities were organized by Ms Kusum Yadav, Ms Neelam Ajwani and Ms Deeksha of Biology Dept. It was an experiential learning filled with fun for all the participants.
TOPIC: “LIFE IS NOT ABOUT FINDING YOURSELF, IT IS ABOUT CREATING YOURSELF.”
Theme of the assembly was “Life is not about finding yourself, it is about creating yourself “. It began with a melodious morning prayer by Armaan Gupta, Shriya Mohan, Advika Pandey, Akshant Kasana, Anshi Ijral, Laksh Jaswani, Naren Pratap, Ayesha Malik, Navyasha Sinha, Radhika Kishore, Tamim Ashraf, Shefali Modi, Kabeer Bawa, Jaivant, Vansh Kumar, and Vikhyat Vats followed by a Shiv Vandana by Mayra Agarwal. A Shlok was recited by Armaan Gupta and Vansh Kumar. Thought for the day was presented by Kabeer Bawa and Udit Goyal. News updates were by Ajitansh Kar, Shivain Roy Choudhary, Shikhar Mathur and Sreysth Sharma. A melodious song was presented by Shriya Mohan, Ayesha Malik, Deborah, Radhika Kishore, Shefali Modi, Tamim Ashraf, Advika Pandey, Akshant Kasana, Anshi Ijral, Laksh Jaswani, Naren Pratap Singh, Parijat, Saurav Singh, Shubhang Sharma, Uddipt Srivastava, Yuvraj Kukreja and Kanishk Kumar. Ayesha Malik and Aditi Sharma presented a self composed poem.
Vishisht Vibhuti, Manas Raj, Advika Pandey, Laksh Jaswani, and Rupin Jain shared their views on the theme. Dance was presented by Radhika Kishore, Suhana Wadhwa, Aditi Sharma, Kabeer Bawa, Advika Pandey, Laksh Jaswani, Rupin Jain, Shubhang Sharma and Uddipt Srivastava. A quartet was sung by Shriya Mohan, Ayesha Malik, Navyasha Sinhan and Parijat. The assembly was concluded with a solo song by Tamim Ashraf. The cards folders board and E invite were done creatively by Tamim Ashraf, Anika Shukla, Deborah, Mayra Agarwal and Saamir Ali. Digital Presentation was made by Saksham Joshi.

As part of the CBSE Reading Month initiative, the Department of English, DPS RK Puram organized a guest speaker programme for students of class XI and XII on 30 July 2024 in the 5th and 6th periods in the AVH. The guest speaker was Mr Amitabh Bagchi, who is the author of four published novels including Half the Night is Gone which won the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature in 2019. He has translated the ghazals of Muneer Niazi from Urdu to English under the title Lost Paradise (Juggernaut 2022). His fifth novel, Unknown City, is due to appear in 2025. Mr Bagchi is an alumnus of DPS RK Puram and is a Professor of Computer Science at IIT Delhi.
He was felicitated by the Vice Principal, Mr. Naresh Miglani. He then took to the stage introducing himself and addressing the students directly. He began by stating that he had been given the monumental task of sparking the students’ interest in reading, a feat he humbly admitted might be impossible considering the modern cultural climate. However, by the end of his speech, he had indeed won over his audience, and his influential words resonated deeply within them.
He reminisced about his student life and the fond memories he had, particularly of reading the myriad books that the school library housed. He spoke about and shared excerpts from some of the books he read at the same age as the audience, which struck a chord with him and helped nurture his reading habits, eventually leading him to become an author. These included, ‘The Road to the Bazaar,’ a collection of short stories and ‘The Blue Umbrella‘ , a novel, both iconic works by Ruskin Bond. He also discussed his fondness for Hindi literature conveying to the students that the desire for and joy of reading transcends even languages. He concluded by sharing the inspiration behind his own writing journey, from his early days working on the school magazine to integrating those skills with his life experiences in his books. He paid tribute to the authors who inspired him and discussed the concept of an artist’s ‘magnum opus,’ expressing his belief that he still has much more to offer in writing and has yet to create his own.
After his speech, the Q&A session began, during which students asked questions covering various aspects of his expertise and experiences. They eagerly inquired about his views on foreign literature, sought advice on how to realize their own dreams of becoming authors, asked about the duality of balancing a career as a professor of computer science with his dedication to and passion for literature and writing, and asked questions about his books, among other topics.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks which was delivered by the Head of Department, English, Dr. Atika Dayal, who expressed her appreciation to Mr Amitabh Bagchi for dedicating his time and energy to promoting good reading habits among the students. She also acknowledged the students for their respectful and enthusiastic participation throughout the event.
Breast cancer has become the most common type of cancer affecting women today, with an Indian woman being diagnosed with breast cancer every four minutes. Cancer survival becomes more difficult in higher stages of its growth, and more than 50% of Indian women suffer from stage 3 and 4 of breast cancer. Post cancer survival for women with breast cancer was reported 60% for Indian women, as compared to 80% in the U.S.
Women can self-diagnose their condition and know of the presence of lumps or masses that suggest cancerous outgrowths. The very reason for a low breast cancer survival rate of women in India accounts from its lack of awareness and poor early screening and diagnosis rates
Breast cancer screening in collaboration with the YOUWECAN Foundation, a non-profit organization promoting cancer awareness and established by cricketer and cancer survivor Yuvraj Singh was organized.
The screening was conducted by a thermal screening device and is contactless, safe and does not involve any radiation. Under the guidance of the Ms Padma Srinivasan,Principal,the programme was organized by Ms Niva Chhonkar & Ameya Aneja of XII L
‘Relating a person to the whole world: that is the meaning of cinema’.
The school organized a movie show for the students of Classes IX-X in the second week of July. Students, accompanied by the teachers, were taken to PVR Sangam, where they watched the movie ‘Chandu Champion’. The film was selected for its educational value and age-appropriate content.
The movie screening received positive feedback from both students and teachers. It successfully combined entertainment with inspiring themes of hardwork and inclusion. The students had a fun-filled movie excursion and they returned with cherished memories.
On 25th July 2024,a team of students visited PRAYAG (Platform for real-time analysis of Ganga and Yamuna at NMCG Office) and STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) at Okhla.
The team comprising of Nanya Gupta IX M,Satvik Daksh Gupta IX O,Shashwat Anurag IX H,Vaishnavi IX H,Vani Menon IX M,Kavin Chaudhary X L,Kabir Sahni X M, Anaisha Arora X L,Raghuveer Prakash X M, Aditi Thakur XI L working on the River Yamuna Project: ‘From Pollution to Purity’ under the leadership of Ms Padma Srinivasan,Principal.The Project is planned and coordinated by Ms Niva Chhonkar ,Head-Biology Department.
PRAYAG – which stands for Platform for Real-time Analysis of Yamuna, Ganga and their Tributaries is at National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) office in New Delhi. Prayag is a Real Time Monitoring Centre for planning and monitoring of projects, river water quality, etc. through various online dashboards.PRAYAG was launched on 20 April 2023.Mr Dheeraj Joshi,Deputy Secretary,NMCG explained about the working of different dashboards.It was amazing to check the real time monitoring parameters like BOD,DO etc indicators of river health.Mr Nalin Kumar Shrivastava, Deputy Director General, NMCG addressed the students and appreciated their interest in this project
Later the students visited STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) at Okhla,is the joint venture of Delhi Jal Board & National Mission of Clean Ganga was completed in the year 2023.This 564 MLD plant at Okhla, Delhi is the largest capacity STP in Asia and plays a major role in cleaning of Yamuna. Designed & Built on state of the art technologies, it produces a very high quality water as per international standards. The plant will utilize a UV system to treat & disinfect the water.. The plant generates 5 MW of green energy which is used to run the Plant. The byproduct sludge is also of High class – A quality, for safe use by farmers as manure.
The students were totally at awe with the design and capacity of the plant.This educational trip was an unforgettable one.
