50 Years: Back To School

50 Years: Back To School

“It’s a funny thing coming back to school. Nothing changes. Everything looks the same, feels the same, and even smells the same. You realise what’s changed is you.”

August 18 bore witness to the grounds of Delhi Public School, R.K Puram once again bustling with numerous students. The football field was vibrantly decorated and set up with various stalls, in preparation for the gala that was to ensue.

The guests received a thrilling welcome from the Expressions Theatre Club, as they walked a red carpet that led them down memory lane. The promenade featured an array of characters which filled the atmosphere with an overwhelming sense of nostalgia. The school also organised a voluntary blood donation and organ pledge camp, which received overwhelming responses. The event commenced on a pulsating note with various performances by different alum bands. Each band enthralled the audience with a medley of genres ranging from classical rock, pop, and jazz to instrumental.

The event was then led into the formalities by a distinguished alumna, Dr Puja Dewan, starting with the Chief Guest, Shri V. K. Shunglu’s felicitation. The Principal, Ms Padma Srinivasan, hereafter addressed the gathering, congratulating all on the golden jubilee and speaking of how wonderful it was for them to meet and rejoice in their association while celebrating the school’s journey of excellence and glory. She also spoke about the coffee table book and how it is full of little moments of happiness and glory from the past 50 years and is a reminiscence of what the institution has achieved. All cherished messages lie in brevity, and Shri V. K. Shunglu  in his address appreciated the effort put in by the Principal Ms Padma Srinivasan, the Staff, Students and the Alumni. He asked all to have a great tie and wished them all the best. Subsequently, the coffee table book, “Gilt Edged Chronicle”, an encapsulated journey of and a testament to the illustrious institution’s greatness, was inaugurated by the Principal and the Chief Guest. This was succeeded by an extraordinarily heartwarming and nostalgic sound and light show, which took us on a journey through the 50 years of Delhi Public School  RK Puram. The vibrant evening came alive with DJ Barkha playing the grooviest numbers in town as everyone shook a leg deep into the night.

Embellishing the evening were many alumni who donned a Dipsite’s discernment with pride. The football ground seemed to overflow with laughter as people reconnected with old friends. A trip to nostalgia, now and then, is good for the spirit; and so it was for the alums present there that delightful evening, for all of them returned to a place they called home to revel in their alma mater’s success and revive brilliant, blissful memories of times bygone.

Think Club – Independence Day Events

Independence Day Events

“Innovation no longer remains a choice but has become an imperative.”

-Narendra Modi

The Think Club of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram, under the counsel of club in-charge, Ms. Archna Deepak, organised a series of inter-section competitions for classes VI-XII on the occasion of Independence Day, with the aim of challenging the students’ spontaneity and encouraging critical thinking. The events took place virtually on Google Meet and Google Classroom.

Confabulation is one of Think Club’s most coveted annual events to develop the student’s creativity and innovation. It was a Group Discussion event for the students of classes XI and XII.

During the event, students were asked to articulate their thoughts on the topic, “Sone Ki Chidiya 2.0” individually.

The event was judged by former Think Club Presidents Ms. Medhaavi Didi and Ms. Shreya Nimbali.
