Gender Equality Campaigns at Delhi Public School RK Puram
AYUDH (International Youth Movement of Mata Amritanandamayi Math) in collaboration with C20 Working group of Gender Equality is implementing two prestigious campaigns in all schools (Govt./Govt. Aided and Private) under DOE. The two campaigns are as under:
- One million Lights: In this campaign school students, teachers and HOS’s are requested to nominate individuals, organisations and/or initiatives who made a difference in their life or someone else’s life in terms of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment. This nomination will be done via an online nomination form here: http://www.c20amma.org/. Each nomination will be reflected on an “online world map” as a dot of “light” thus, lighting up the world with examples of change. It is hoped that at least one million nominations would be received before C20 July Summit. That’s why the campaign has been named as “One million lights”.
- Gender Sensitization with C20 logo Human Formation: This campaign aims to spread awareness on Gender Equality where the students will create a formation of C20 logo with GE Symbol.
Assembly XII-G & XII-H (10-05-2023)
Topic: “WE OURSELVES MUST WALK THE PATH”
On Wednesday, the 10th of May 2023, the students of classes XII-G and XII-H organized an assembly based on the powerful adage by Gautama Buddha.
The assembly began with a soulful prayer titled “Teri Panaah Mein Hame Rakhna,” which was sung by a group of students including Aashna, Adhyan, Akul, Arsh, Aryan, Harit, Kushagra, Manan, Manvendra, Manya, Pratulya, Saarthak, Shaurya Gambhir, Mudit, Nikunj, Rama, Purbasha, Piyush, and Sadhika. This was followed by a captivating classical dance performance by Gaurvi, Ihita, and Shreeya. The topic was then introduced with thought-provoking speeches by Akshita, Shitij, Tarini, Aarshia and Dhananjay that provided the audience with a deeper understanding of the subject. Later, Lakshya, Rama, Purbasha, and Pratyush Vempati updated the audience on the latest news. An enlightening thought for the day by Avi and Pratyush Juyal proceeded the assembly further. Next, a unique fusion of Raag Megh Malhar along with western instrumentals was presented by Aadibhav, Aashna, Aryan, Harit, Nirabhra, Rohan, and Shaurya Gambhir. What followed was an inspiring self-composed poem shared by Pihu which greatly moved everyone. Then, a mesmerizing dance performance on the song “Jame Raho ” by Aashna, Adhyan, Bhawaansh, Manu, Rayhan, Sannidhya, and Shaurya Gupta took place. A skit resonating with the theme of walking alone was then portrayed by Amogh, Anup, Aprameyya, Bhavya, Durlabh, Navey, Navya, Sadhika, Saksham, Shreeya, Tanish, and Tanvi. Lastly, the assembly concluded with a virtuosic beatboxing performance by Rayhan. The aesthetic artwork and design of the assembly were created by Shivangi, Utsav, Aadibhav, Jupman, Aashna, Rushil, Bhavya, Shreeya, Saksham, Avneet, Durlabh, and Mauray.
The assembly was compèred by Amartya, Aryan, Naisha, Akshat, Avneet and Jia. It concluded with the addresses by the Principal, the Vice Principal, the Class Representative Ms. Sarika Kaushal, and the Class Teachers of XII-G and XII-H, Ms. Niva Chhonkar and Ms. Archna Deepak respectively. Finally, the Audio-Visual Hall was filled with a sense of pride as the School Anthem followed by the National Anthem were sung. Overall, the assembly was a grand success, and the students conveyed their message with utmost creativity and excellence.

Topic: “EKLA CHALO RE..THE PATH LESS TAKEN”
The assembly commenced with the melodious morning prayer, “Achyutam Keshavam” sung by Aarav, Aditya, Anish, Anusha, Anushka, Arnav, Bharat, Faizah, Ishan, Jasraj, Kashvi, Khushi, Lubhani, Manya, Mohit, Pranav, Ranveer Shukla, Samarth Bishnoi and Shikhar. This was followed by the graceful invocation dance by Tanvi. Next, to enlighten the gathering, came the thought of the day by Bharat, Mohit and Sonya. The news updates were given by Ishan, Mohit, Samarth Bishnoi and Shikhar.
A documentary on Rabindranath Tagore was presented followed by the speeches, eloquently given by Tanvi, Tanush, Khushi and Audarya. After this came a solo performance by Khushi. Going ahead with the programme, the talented instrumentalists gave an invigorating performance with Ranveer Shukla and Pranav on the guitar, Ishan on the drums and Kashvi on the keyboard. The choir followed immediately after, mellifluously sung by Aarav, Aaryan, Anish, Aditya, Anusha, Anushka, Bharat, Faizah, Khushi, Lubhani, Manya, Mohit, Ridhika, Samarth Bishnoi, Shikhar and Sonya. The assembly ended with a vibrant dance performance by Aarav, Aditya, Anish, Anusha, Bharat, Kashvi, Khushi, Lubhani, Ranveer Shukla and Shikhar.

The students of the Expressions Theatre Club of Delhi Public School R.K. Puram participated in ‘Coinage Odyssey’ – 21st Brem Dutt Inter School Competition 2023, held on 4 May 2023 organized by Cambridge Foundation School. The actors showcased the prominent evolution of currency from a coin to a note through humorous anecdotes. They were guided by the teacher incharge Ms. Sanya Taneja. The team secured the first position in the competition. The participants were as follows: Akrita Kaur XI-V and Smera Aggarwal XI-Q.

Topic: “ LAUGHTER- THE BEST REMEDY”
“There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humour”.
The morning assembly of Class IX-A and IX-B was dedicated to celebrating World Laughter Day and acknowledging the importance and the need of laughter. It is a tool that has the power to tune and bond millions of people. And as Mark Twain once said,” The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter”.
The assembly began with the morning prayer ‘Achyutam Keshavam’ by Diya, Nitya, Vivaan, Vaishnavi, Kanishka of IX-A and Aarav, Samanvita, Tiara, Aditya, Kavya, Aashna, Amvvika, Abreeq, Shaurya Bidhuri, Parin, Ishan Sharma, Divit, Raghav Khanna, Surya of IX-B. This was followed by a classical dance on ‘Ganesh Vandana’- a powerful stotra of Lord Ganesha by Misha and Aditri of IX-A. A contemplative Thought for the Day was given by Avani, Ishika of IX-A and Harshit, Ragahav Arya of IX-B. To build awareness, Divyam & Harsh of IX-A and Aman & Kabeer of IX-B presented the news. A self composed poem was presented by Aamna & Avani of IX-A and Samanvita of IX-B. This was followed by musical extravaganza, with a soulful rendition of the famous song ‘High Hopes’ by Diya, Nitya, Vivaan, Vaishnavi, Kanishka of IX-A and Aarav, Samanvita, Tiara, Aditya, Kavya, Aashna, Amvvika of IX-B. Following this was a powerful dance performance by Kamya, Aditri, Misha, Ishika & Selvi of IX-A and Samanvita, Tiara, Lakshmi, Jasnoor & Rashi of IX-B. Move mountains, push boundaries and make today the best first day yet.
Grade VI students were welcomed by their class teachers on 5th and 6th April 2023 with beautiful bookmarks and chocolates to start their new school year on a sweet note. Since the students were coming to the Senior School for the first time, a school tour was organised for them.The students were made aware about the infrastructure of the school campus. It encouraged them to start the new academic year on a positive note, with hope and motivation in their hearts and the aim to find a home away from home in the school premises.
For grades VII &VIII, the new academic session commenced with a special assembly conducted by the activity incharges,Ms Abha Chona and Ms Kaveri Dhar on 4th & 5th April respectively.The Principal, Ms Padma Srinivasan, addressed the students and motivated them to put their best foot forward in all their endeavours ,follow school rules and regulations and uphold its motto ‘Service before Self’ in true spirit.The Headmistress(VI-VIII), Ms Anubha Gopal extended her support & best wishes for the new academic session.
Orientation Programme for the Parents of Students of Classes VI- VIII

An Orientation Programme was organised for the parents of students of classes VI- VIII on 11th ,12th and 17 April ‘23 respectively, from 2:15 to 3:45pm. The purpose of the programme was to introduce the parents to the respective class teachers and subject teachers. It was also to reiterate the general code of conduct to be followed in school by the students along with a detailed understanding of the curriculum of the various subjects and methodology of assessment.The Headmistress, Ms. Anubha Gopal addressed the parents, reinforcing their trust in the institution for the wellbeing of the students and reassuring them of a promising year ahead. A robust feedback from parents concluded the programme.
