CLASS IX OPEN HOUSE 

The Open House for the parents of Class IX was organized on 7th December, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to  1:00 p.m. in order to facilitate a fruitful interaction between the parents and the subject teachers. The parents interacted with the subject teachers on a one-to-one basis regarding their ward’s academic performance in the half yearly examination. Parents were appreciative of the efforts and the work done by the class I class teachers and the school authorities.

CARNIVAL ’24

“The bottom line is learning with fun and joy ”

Delhi Public School R.K. Puram organised its highly anticipated Annual School Carnival on 3 December 2024. The event was put together by the teachers with support from the school staff. A thrilling day, full of enjoyable activities, games, food, and entertainment; it brought all the students of DPS RK Puram, from classes VI to XII, together.

The school’s football field, which hosted the carnival, was transformed into a fairyland, decked up with colourful balloons and vibrant stalls. A variety of attractions were set up to ensure that there was something for everyone. Some highlights of the event include:

  • Games and Activities: There were 5 different activity stalls put up by the various departments of the school. Speedcubing, tongue twisters, scramble, calligraphy, sudoku puzzles and activities like creating out of waste kept the students entertained, besides fostering their skills. 
  • A photo booth was set up for the students to capture their joyful moments. Artisans from Dilli Haat sold handmade bracelets and chic keychains with the owner’s name written on them.
  • Food and Refreshments: More than half of the field was turned into a food court, which served a wide range of carnival favorites from cotton candies,ice-creams and popcorns, to pizzas, donuts and shakes. Favourite brands like Dunkin’ Donuts, Domino’s, Giani’s, Bakingo and Subway added their own flavour to the carnival.
  • Entertainment: The rhythmic beats of the DJ electrified the atmosphere as the students tapped their feet to the music.
  • The talent hunt, DPS RKP’s Got Talent, was received with an overwhelming participation from the students. Enthusiastic participants showcased their talents as the audience applauded their confidence and efforts. The categories of the talent show included Singing, Dancing, Beatboxing, Instrumental Performances, Poetry Recitation or Spoken Word, Stand-Up Comedy, Magic Tricks, Puppetry and Yoga. Winners also received exciting prizes from the esteemed judges. 

The carnival resonated with the true spirit of the school as students attended it in high numbers and enjoyed themselves thoroughly. It was a wonderful day full of laughter, learning, and memories, and we eagerly look forward to the next carnival.

UNESCO AWARD

DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL  R.K.PURAM  is very proud to announce that our student of class X Aliza Fatima has been awarded bronze in UNESCO PHOTO ESSAY CONTEST on Taj Mahal.24 countries participated in this contest. The award ceremony took place on December 3, 2024 at 2024 Korean UNESCO ASPnet Gathering-Education for Peaceful Coexistence-Schools as incubators of Cooperation and Solidarity. Kavin Chaudhary and Lakshay Kashyap of class X photo essays got recognition as notable participants. Teacher guide was Ms. Sohini Chakravarty.

In compliance of the directions issued by the Director of Education, GNCT of Delhi vide letter No. DE.23(08)/Sch.Br./2024/977 dated 25/11/2024, it has been decided to resume the classes in the Hybrid Mode i.e. both in “physical” and also in an “online” mode for the students of Classes Nursery to XII at DPS R.K. Puram and its Junior schools at East of Kailash and Vasant Vihar w.e.f. 27.11.2024.     

All school buses will operate as usual for the pick & drop of the students.

All the students and teachers are requested to make a note of the above accordingly.

MS. PINKI HONOURED WITH THE  BEST TEACHER AWARD

CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION: MS. PINKI HONOURED WITH THE  BEST TEACHER AWARD

Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram is proud to have one of its own teachers recognized on the national stage. Ms. Pinki, a dedicated Physical Education teacher at Delhi Public School RK Puram , received the 2024 Physical Education Teacher Award from the Action Committee of Unaided Recognised Private Schools, India.

For over a decade, Ms. Pinki has been more than just a teacher; she’s been a mentor, coach, and role model to countless students. Her focus on discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship has made a lasting impact. Her teaching methods have not only helped students excel in sports but have also instilled in them values they carry beyond the field.

Ms. Pinki’s recognition is well-deserved and an inspiration for all educators committed to fostering a love for physical fitness and sports. Her award highlights the essential role that Physical Education  teachers play in shaping young minds and promoting a balanced lifestyle.

FIRST POSITION IN THE SPECTRUM 

Delhi Public School RK Puram was honoured to attend the art competition held on 12 November 2024 in Banyan Tree School. The name of the event was The Spectrum in which the students of class XI  took part in the ‘Kaleidoscope of Imagination’. The topic of the on the spot painting competition was “Artivism: Inspire, Influence, Ignite”. The first   positions were secured by Neelanjana Maggo XI V and second position Anushka Nandi XI  T  of  respectively. Their artworks were judged on the basis of content, relevance, aesthetics and their knowledge of colours. It was a great opportunity and stage for them to showcase their talent.

DELHI STATE SHOOTING RIFLE PISTOL 2024-25 ISSF

The 39th Delhi State Shooting Championship 2024 was held at Dr Karni Singh shooting range, Tughlakabad, New Delhi from 15th – 20th July 2024.Nevaan Wadhawan of class 12-S participated in 10m and 25m events and secured 2 GOLD, 1 BRONZE in 10m Air pistol event and 3 GOLD, 1 SILVER in 25m 0.22 bore events.

ALL INDIA IPSC TABLE TENNIS BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP 2024

All India IPSC Table Tennis Championship was held at The Pestle Weed School Dehradun from 16 Aug to 21 August 2024.DPS RK Puram won one a Silver medal in the Under 12 boys team and two Bronze medal in the Under 14 and Under 19 boys team. Yug Choudhary of Class VIII-B and Mehransh Singh Bhatia of Class IV-C also won two Bronze medals in the individual championship. The boys team comprised of – Mehransh Bhatia, Prakhar Yadav, Kabir Ahuja, Bisraj Khurana, Yug Choudhary, Akul Gangwani, Manvik Aggarwal, Shakul Yadav, Vivaan Gupta, Yuvraj Batra, Jaiveer Gulyani, Harshit Sah & Swanik Aeron.

Cyber Awareness Photowalk

The CyberX Club of DPS RK Puram, under the guidance of its Club Incharge, Ms. Sarika Kaushal, successfully organized a Cyber Awareness Photowalk on 14 November 2024, with an aim to promote awareness about cybersecurity among students. This unique event served as a platform to display insightful writeups and articles on cyber safety, crafted by the talented students of the club.

The photowalk showcased the students’ efforts in exploring various aspects of cyber security, from phishing and data privacy to safe online practices, demonstrating their commitment to spreading awareness about the digital world’s challenges.

The event was graced by the presence of the Principal Mr. Anil Kumar, along with Vice-Principals Mr. Anil Kathuria and Mr. Mukesh Kumar, who interacted with the senior members of the CyberX Club. The Principal engaged in meaningful discussions with the team, offering valuable suggestions on current cyber safety measures and innovative ways to enhance student awareness about online threats.

The Cyber Awareness Photowalk not only highlighted the significance of cybersecurity in today’s digital era but also motivated students to take an active role in educating their peers. The collaborative spirit of the CyberX Club, coupled with the enthusiastic participation of the school community, marked this event as a significant milestone in fostering a culture of responsible digital citizenship at DPS RK Puram.
