Celebrating Green Diwali

In order to make the students of Delhi Public School, R.K Puram aware of environmental pollution and health hazards due to  extensive bursting of firecrackers and to make them ambassadors of change to celebrate an Eco Friendly and Green Diwali, a number of competitions were organised for the students of classes VI-VIII during the Diwali week from 9th to 12th November 2020.The students participated in these competitions with great zeal and enthusiasm.  The results of those competitions are as follows:

Topic- Family That Celebrates Together Stays Together

The topic “Family that celebrates together stays together” was chosen as the topic for Class Presentation to highlight the importance of strong family bonding in light of the coming festive season. Family has been a cementing force at the heart of societies all across the world. One can never neglect its subtle, yet strong, involvement throughout life. 

The presentation began with an introduction by Yash Sah and a mellow prayer sung by Simar Singh. This was followed by a sacred shloka recited by Priyanshu Sinha. Then, Yash Sinha gave us a deeper understanding of the topic. Aaditya Vardhan presented the thought for the day followed by Aashman Rastogi sharing his notions through a speech and Jyothika Pranavi mesmerised everyone with a beautiful cover of the song “Family”. Following this was a self-composed poem recited by Sharanya Gupta. The class presentation ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Arsh Malik. Prerna Prusty made the colourful e-invite. The overall presentation was organised by Sharanya Gupta.

Class Presentation VII-E 12-11-2020

Topic- Diwali

As the whole country prepares itself to celebrate the biggest festival, the students of the class too decided to learn more about the festival and share it with others.

The Class Presentation began with a beautiful shloka recited by Aarush Gulati, followed by the introduction of the theme by Ashwika Rawat. Aanya Khanna sang the melodious song ‘Ek tu Hi Bharosa’. Nandini Nayyer, Krita Mozumder and Sonakshi Segal  explained about the different days of the biggest and brightest festival of our country. They concluded by giving us a message to defeat the new demon – the invisible CoronaVirus. Alvina Siddiqui shared an inspiring thought which highlighted the importance of recognizing our inner light. Mahira Jain then recited a self-composed poem giving us a message about the importance of celebrating  a green and safe Diwali. The presentation was concluded by Myna Bhatia  with a vote of thanks. The vibrant e-invite was prepared by Aanya Khanna and Ashwika Rawat compiled all the audios.

Topic-The Lights will Guide you Home

The class presentation was on the topic “ The Lights will Guide you Home” and it was chosen as it revolved around the festival of diwali which symbolizes the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance”. In other words as lord Ram returned after 14 years of struggle , he was guided by the lights. The presentation began with the comperes Shambhavi Verma and Trisha Ghosh introducing the sequence and it was followed by a prayer sung by Aanya Tripathi.  The thought for the day was stated by Adit Chopra while the soulful poems were recited by Kushal Ailawadi and Mayank Pandey. Later a melodious  song was sung by Aanya Tripathi and a speech was given by Turrag Dewan.The creative E-invite was made by Amil Bhagat and Udbhav Varma while the presentation was made by Udbhav Varma and the audios conversion and coordination was done by Udbhav Varma and Ansh Arora.

Topic- Powerful is the Light of Unity that can Illuminate the whole Earth

In India, festivals like Diwali, Eid, Christmas are celebrated by the people of all communities. These festivals bring people together and nurture the roots of our society and bring in peace, solidarity and harmony around us.

The presentation began with Shloka Chaudhary who recited a melodious shlok which was translated by Arham Nahar. Anushka Gupta welcomed everyone to the assembly. Following this, a morning prayer was sung by Tia Mehtani and Ananya Das. Abhishek Mishra shared an inspirational thought for the day. Abhishek Agarwal, Palchin Dhoundiyal and Shashwat Mishra expressed their views on the topic. A motivational self-composed poem in English was written by Sherin Jasoria and was recited by Abhitha Goel and Sherin Jasoria. The Hindi self-composed poem was written and recited by Harshit Tankha. The compères were Vibhum Aggarwal, Kashyap Choudhary, Adwiteeya Vaibhav and Aarna Jerath. Lakshmi Saini concluded the presentation by delivering the vote of thanks. The e-invite and the presentation was designed by Laksh Marwah, and the audio was edited and compiled by Lakshya Baijlal and Sherin Jasoria.

Diwali & Bhai Duj Holidays

Online classes will not be held for Classes Nursery to IX & XI on Friday, 13th November, 2020. However, online classes for X & XII will continue as usual. It will be a regular working day for Administrative Staff & Support Staff of DPS R.K. Puram/Vasant Vihar/East of Kailash on Friday, 13th November, 2020.

Delhi Public School, RK Puram, Vasant Vihar and East of Kailash will remain closed for all on Monday, 16th November, 2020 on account of Bhai Duj.

Topic- GROW THROUGH WHAT YOU GO THROUGH

Failure is our greatest teacher. It teaches us what not to repeat in the future and how to plan our lives. It teaches us to be strong and it helps us grow into mature and informed people.

The presentation commenced with an introduction by the compere- Aneesh Chatterjee and followed by the sufi prayer, Saanson Ki Mala, by Anoushka Sinha and Karthik Sengupta. A thought for the day was then shared and explained by Aneesh followed by a Shlok recited by Sparsh Garg. Subsequently, Utkarsh Lal delivered a wonderful speech on ‘Grow through what you go through’. After this a beautiful hindi and english poem, composed by Anoushka Sinha and Sharanya Bhardwaj, was recited by Harsh Sahay and Sharanya. To end the show, Shaurya Singh sang a heart warming song. The vote of thanks was given by Aneesh. The e-invites and slides were made by Shreya Nimbali.

Topic-Diwali: Values We Imbibe from It

The Deep Shloka states -“I fold my hands before the Lord, the maintainer of this creation, in the form of this light. I adore this light, which destroys all the pains resulting from my omissions and commissions”. Diwali, the festival of light, is the celebration of the victory of good over evil. The tradition of adorning our homes with diyas or lamps is considered as a symbol of auspiciousness, prosperity and abundance. Most importantly, Diwali is a wonderful occasion for sharing with those who are not as fortunate or blessed as us.  Diwali lights fill the world with new hope and happiness therefore conscious efforts must be made to ensure that we adopt sustainable ways of celebrating it without harming or polluting the environment

The presentation by class IX-I started with a beautiful Sanskrit shlok by Shreyadita Bhaumik and a befitting introduction by Mrityunjay Shekhar Sharma. Amay Kumar presented a soulful prayer asking  God to grant us the power to bring some hope and light in the lives of the needy and less fortunate. Mana Sharma and Stuti Kathuria then shared a deeper insight into the true significance and meaning of this festival after which Chaitanya Jain recited a poem.  A skit highlighting the importance of adopting the age-old traditions of celebration rather than polluting the environment with crackers was presented by Palak Goyal, Pulkit Goya, Bhavya Jha, Riddhi Sharma and Shyla Vijay. The Class Presentation ended with a festive song by Rijak Deep Singh and Srivatsala Krishna. Mritunjay Shekhar Sharma presented  a vote of thanks. The slides and invite were prepared by Pulkit Goyal. The presentation was compiled and edited by Mritunjay Shekhar Sharma.

Topic- Children: The Hope and Future of India

To celebrate the Children’s Day, the students presented the topic- Children: The Hope and Future of India. The class presentation started with a beautiful Sanskrit shlok by Vishesh Chaurasia on the five qualities that every student should possess. The compère Medha Singh greeted the audience with the introduction to the presentation. A beautiful morning prayer “Itni Shakti Hamein DeNa Daata” was sung by Pratiti Mehndiratta who also played the harmonium. The thoughts for the day were read by Mohd Zaid and Ira Bhattacharya in Hindi and English respectively and in French by Aahaan Gupta and its English translation by Garima Agarwal. The compère Arjun Chatterjee then invited Namya Kohli, Kanav Malani, Shaivi Singh, Surya Sawhney, Arunima Sharma and  Mannat Bhardwaj for the speech on children’s day followed by a self-composed poem on children by Navya Wadhwa. The presentation concluded with a vote of thanks given by Simran Alung. The invitation card was designed by Samra and the overall PPT was made by Aahaan Gupta.

Topic- Children’s Day

To celebrate the Children’s Day , the students of class presented the topic: Children are the world’s most valuable resources and its best hope for the future. 

The presentation commenced with a shloka by Tanmay Gupta, followed by a soulful rendition of the prayer, “Achyutam Keshavam” by Vedant Vinayak Ojha. The compères Aru Batra,  Pakhi Bisht and Yashika greeted the audience with an introduction to the topic. The thoughts for the day were presented by Harshit Bhalla and Devika Mourya. Proneet ,Misha Sharma and Adhvan Bava articulated the topic with a reflective speech and some interesting facts. Avechal Roy recited a beautiful self composed poem highlighting the importance of Children’s Day. The presentation concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Karan Gupta, Vrinda Goel, Shrutika Barman, Arnav Sakshya and Hridyanshi Singh. The invitation card was made by Tanmay Gupta and the overall compilation of the class presentation was done by Aru Batra.

Topic- Children See Magic because They Look for it

This beautiful theme was taken in view of the Children’s day celebration. The presentation started with the hymn recitation by Anoushka followed by a soulful prayer by Saumya Srivastava The thought for the day was presented by Madhav Gupta and Garv Jain in English and Hindi respectively. Anoushka followed them by reciting a self composed impressive poem. Subsequently, Brian Abraham delivered the speech on childhood memories which was followed by an inspirational western song sung by Veer Pratap Singh. The vote of thanks was delivered by Simran Jain. The e – invites and  slides were made by Avishi Bansal and Madhav Gupta.
