VIRTUAL ONLINE ORIENTATION – CLASS XI -2021-2022

A  virtual online orientation programme was organised for the parents of class XI students on Saturday,12 June 2021. The programme timings were 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The sections were staggered into groups for time slots to ensure smooth conduct of the program. 

The meeting was conducted by the class teachers who invited the parents to join the online meeting.The class teachers gave the parents a virtual tour of the school and also showed a small presentation to the parents.The class teachers introduced the Principal Ms Padma Srinivasan to the parents. Ms Padma Srinivasan addressed all the parents and welcomed them.She also told them that the school looked forward to their support to ensure that students followed discipline during online classes.The principal appreciated the unflinching support of parents and the conduct of students on G-Suite account. The Principal requested the parents to monitor the performance of the students very closely so that if a child is facing any problem with a subject, the child may change the subject at the earliest for smooth sailing.

The Principal also mentioned that if any kid was feeling stressed or facing any psychological issues, the parents may feel free to consult the school counsellor. They could get in touch with the Class Representatives and fix an appointment with the school counsellor.The Vice Principal, Dr Renu Nayyar addressed the parents,welcomed the new admissions(day scholars and hostellers) to the DPS family and told them about the importance of regularity,importance of Online Ethics, wearing uniform and taking Monday Tests regularly. The Vice Principal also spoke to the parents about the assignment booklets that would be shortly distributed to the students. She also spoke to the parents about various clubs and urged the parents to encourage students to actively participate in all school activities.

The Class Representatives welcomed the parents and spoke about the importance of regularity and Online ethics.The subject teachers briefed the parents about their subject,books,project work and the marking scheme of the paper.  The meeting ended with the class teachers thanking the parents for participating  enthusiastically in the programme and understanding the ethos of the school. 75% of parents attended the virtual meeting. (641/899) .Parents were very appreciative about the way the orientation was conducted and especially mentioned about the video which showed the virtual tour of the school. Parents said that the interaction was very informative and all their queries were answered.
