Guest Speaker Programme (DM-GeoQuest Club)

The DM-GeoQuest Club of the Geography Department organised a Guest Speaker Programme on the topicOne Click! One Species Saved !  ‘Photography as a Tool for Wildlife Conservation’ on the eve of the World Environment Day, June 4, 2021. The event are inaugurated by the Vice Principal, Ms Renu Nayar

The session was conducted by the Presidents of the DM-GeoQuest Club, Sharanya Bhardwaj and Priyanka Yadav.They warmly welcomed the distinguished guest speaker, Mr. Amlendu Dubey, a wildlife enthusiast and photographer. Mr. Amlendu Dubey grew up reading various tiger hunting books and was always fascinated by the sheer power of the animal. He has visited numerous tiger reserves across the country and has learnt jungle craft. He started a safari company and started taking various clients for tiger expeditions and worked with local NGOs for the benefit of tigers in Sariska.

Mr. Dubey talked about the importance of wildlife conservation and narrated his own experiences. He explained how photography can play a crucial role in increasing awareness about wildlife. Mr Amlendu Dubey’s stunning photographs have been published in 

Rajasthan government tourism brochures and also 2020 his work has been recognized in one of the biggest virtual photographic platform named 500px.com.

This was followed by an interactive Question-Answer session conducted by the Vice-President of the club, Yana Sheoran. The session concluded with the vote of thanks by the head of the Department Geography Ms Rupa Das. Coordinators for the GSP event were club incharges Ms Arti Trivedi, and Ms Sangita Bajpai.
