VIRTUAL ORIENTATION SESSION FOR CLASS XII-(2023-24)

A Virtual Orientation session was held for the parents of students of class XII on 11 and 12 April 2023 from 5 PM onwards. The Principal, Ms Padma Srinivasan, went around virtually in all the sections and emphasized the cooperation of parents in developing the habit of being regular to School. An increase in the concentration span of the students was the need of the hour. The Vice Principal, Mr Naresh MIglani, addressed the issue of academic rigour amongst the students within the four walls of the classroom. He expressed his concern about using mobile phones in the classroom and informed the parents that students could not carry them to School under any circumstances. Mr Anil Kathuria, Vice Principal of the Humanities stream, stressed strict discipline to be followed in the School and gave top priority to reaching School on time in proper School Uniform. Mr Mukesh Kumar, Vice Principal of Commerce Stream, urged the parent fraternity to keep in touch with all subject teachers and take a regular update about their ward’s performance on a regular basis. The Class Representatives, Ms Lalitha Srinivasan, Ms Richa Aggarwal and Ms Sarika Kaushal welcomed the parents and students by introducing themselves and asking them to contact them in case of any administrative issues. They touched upon the procedure of issuing a Letter of Recommendation and advised the students to make use of their official email ids for any communication with the School. They stressed upon fruitful utilisation of the last academic session of the school for a better future. The Class teachers welcomed the parents by displaying the contact details of all the subject teachers and thereafter each subject teacher gave a brief introduction about their subject along with the books, course content and break up of marks. The session ended by answering the query of the parents. The parents were satisfied that they met all teachers at the beginning of the session itself and took their telephone numbers to be in touch with them. The session was very fruitful.

Education USA Roadshow HOSTED BY DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL R.K PURAM in collaboration with USIEF

Delhi Public School, RK Puram, hosted a career fair on the afternoon of 12 April 2023 at the Junior Branch, Delhi Public School Vasant Vihar. Twenty US University representatives were present with a plethora of opportunities and information on the variety of features of each university. The visiting universities offered detailed information and brochures alongwith  detailed answers to queries that their prospective applicants had.  Representatives from Universities participating were from  Arizona State University, Illinois Institute of Technology, University of San Francisco and the New York Film Academy to name a few. Education counsellors such as Education USA and the Council for American Education were among the representatives. Students and parents had the opportunity to speak with representatives who shared details about the admission process, the U.S. education system, tuition fees and other overhead charges etc. The dynamic universities offered a vast range of courses such as Engineering, Business Management, Architecture, Law, Art, Design, Music and Film Production among hundreds of other courses. Students and parents of classes IX to XII  attended this event and learned about the various aspects of international higher education, admissions and potential careers offered to children. The fair was a bright opportunity for high school students of our school to gain a better understanding of university education in the United States and the myriad of possibilities at hand.

Assembly X-M & X-N (11-04-2023)

Topic: JASHN-E-VIRASAT: WORLD HERITAGE DAY

“A concerted effort to preserve our heritage is a vital link to our cultural, educational, aesthetic, inspirational and economic legacies – all of the things that quite literally make us who we are.” – Steve Berry.Keeping up with the theme of celebrating and preserving our heritage, students of XM and XN presented their morning assembly ‘Jashn-e-Virasat’.

The assembly commenced with the morning prayer by Icchpoorni, Shaurya Pratap, Vivaan, Aanya Ahuja, Pari, Shrreya, Namish, Zonish and Alvira. This was followed by a beautiful invocation dance by Rishita, Krita, Sonam and Sonakshi. Jaiveer and Saksham shared their thoughts for the day. The news was read by Lakshay, Noulishi, Aditya and Ishan. A meaningful poem was recited by Kaavya. This was followed by a skit by Bhavya, Paavani, Navraj, Neil, Uzair, Divyansh and Nabhay. A melodious symphony was performed by singers and instrument players, Aashna, Aarna, Reva, Gunika, Gunit, Eksansh, Bhavik, Ashvik, Aditya, Shaurya S., Aanya, Aanya Ahuja, Kulsoom, Zonish, Shrreya, Suhaan, Ranvir, Aarav, Kahini, Shaurya and Aaliya. The concluding act was a fusion dance by Afreen, Kunsal, Kavya, Krita, Sonakshi, Sonam, Drishti, Paavani and Myrah.

The comperes of the programme were Myna and Ayush Gaur. The folders, cards and board for the assembly were made by Adwiti, Gunika, Bhavya, Zonish, Shrreya and Suhaan. The digital presentation was compiled by Soham, Atharvv and Agastya.

ALL INDIA IPSC GIRLS SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIP

The all-India IPSC Girl’s Squash championship was held at Rajmata Girls School Jodhpur Rajasthan from 7th – 9th December 2022. We bagged a silver medal in the under-17 girls’ individual category.

ALL INDIA IPSC SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIP

All India IPSC Squash Championship was held at Mayo College Ajmer from 3 Oct-7 Oct 2022. Amarya Bajaj in the U12 boys category won Gold Medal, Yuvaditya Jain in the U14 boys category won the Bronze medal, Arnav Khandelwal in the U14 category won the Bronze & Ishkaran Singh in the U17 Boys category won the Bronze.

The morning assembly of Class XII A and B was a walk down memory lane in the life of a student from the first day at school to the farewell in Class XII.” Each New day is like a blank page in the diary of your life. The secret of success is in the turning of that diary into the best story you possibly can”. This beautiful quote summarised the essence of the theme for the morning assembly. The assembly began with the morning prayer ‘Tu he Ram Hai Tu Raheem Hai by Chahat, Aadya M, Gunpreen, Palak, Harshita, Shaurya, Shubham, Pushp, Ananya of XII A and Shashank Shekhar, Swarit Malhotra, Rishabh Gupta, Shreyadita, Maitreya Pathak, Tanya, Divyanshi, Jhanvi, Bhumi, Lavanya, Srija of XII B. This was followed by a shlok recital by Gunpreen of XII A. The Classical Dance was presented by Navya Modgal of XIIA and Aadya  Kashyap of XII B. Anshika Adhikari XIIA and  Hari Om of XII B brightened the morning assembly with the thought for the day. The news was presented by Nehal Sharma XIIA and Shaurya Singh, Vidit Sheersh of XII B. A self-composed poem was recited by Parmarth of XII A. All these were strung together by a skit by  Anshika Aggarwal, Izeen, Hashmeet, Parmarth, Shlok, Amartya, Palak, Anshika Adhikari, Nehal, Yashvi, Amay, Mysa, Diksha, Ahana of XII A and Satvik Anand, Srija, Mohnish Kansal, Maitreya Pathak, Hari Om, Yuvraj Singh of XII B. The speeches were by Anshika XIIA and Ojas Upadhyay XII B. This was followed by the choir with Shlok, Gunpreen, Sheen, Palak, Ananya, Harshita, Shubham, Shaurya, and Parmarth of XIIA and  Rishabh Gupta, Swarit Malhotra, Shashank Shekhar, Maitreya Pathak, Avni, Jiah, Ayushi, Tanya of XII B. The Dances were presented by Amay, Mysa, Diksha, Ahana, Aadya B,Shlok of XIIA and Jiah, Ayushi, Avni, Gauri, Prisha, Ojas Upadhyay, Maitreya Pathak of XII B. The comperes of the morning assembly were Izeen and Asmi of XII A and Mohnish Kansal and Khadija of XII B. The beautiful Folders and the E invites were made by Izeen of XIIA The invitation cards were made by Anshika Adhikari XII A and Jiah and Nazeefah of XII B. The board was decorated by Izeen and  Ananya Shankar of XIIA and Jiah and Nazeefah of XII B. The PowerPoint presentation was made by Izeen XII A and Varun Motiani, Yuvraj Singh, and Advik Rao of XII B.

A Visit To Amrit Udyan (Mughal Gardens)

The students of class X B, C, F and I visited the Amrit Udyan (Mughal Gardens) on 22 and 23 March 2023. The Amrit Udayan is called the ‘soul’ of the Presidential Palace and is open to the public every spring. Located in the heart of New Delhi inside Rashtrapati Bhawan, the gardens are a burst of vivid blooms and a visual treat. The picturesque landscape full of manicured lawns and hedges, Mughal style canals, and terraces is breathtaking. 
The gardens are known for more than hundred varieties of roses found here along with marigolds, petunias, lilies and bougainvilleas that dot the paths. By and large, it remained a rejuvenating and  informative experience where the students got a chance to appreciate and admire nature’s wonders.

RESILIENCE BUILDING WITH MUSIC BY- Dr. Farah Husain & Ms. Aarti Sharma

“Music can heal the wounds that medicine cannot touch.” –Debasish MrihdaA workshop on ‘Resilience Building with music’ was conducted by Dr. Farah Hussain and Ms. Aarti Sharma on 7th March, 2023. The speakers explained the clinical use of music to accomplish individualised goals such as reducing stress, improving mood and self-expression. The session started with a welcome song followed by a discussion on resilience. The speakers discussed and gave a hands-on example on how we can use music to enhance focus. The speakers also conducted a meditation session using music after which the teachers were asked to reflect on people/things they are grateful for and the art of letting go. The session was musical, engaging and touched upon mental health issues in a very subtle manner.
