Topic : “There are so many beautiful reasons to be happy! Let’s add one more today”

The class assembly of class IX-E & IX-F celebrated Happiness as being the true essence of life. Upholding what Mahatma Gandhi once said – “Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are in harmony.” The assembly began with a soulful prayer by Stavya, Jatin, Shiven, Aditya, Vidush, Aaryan, Ishaan, Yuvraj, Aaryanveer, Kanav, Shivam, Kunal, Nikhil, Deepti, Pratha Singh, Mayank, Yuvraj Singh, Dhruv, Daksh, Sanvi Nanda. Then the Principal, Ms Padma Srinivasan welcomed everyone with a prayer.

This was followed by Omya & Avaaniee performing the Ganesh Vandana. The news was read by Aaryaman Sethi, Saksham, Karun and Pranav.  Stavya, Neil & Sonakshi shared their thoughts for the day. Samanyu, Anaya, Samaira Seghal, Aryaman, Arav Dahiya, Anwita, Nyra, Devansh, Vaibhav, Tarun, Nachiket, Shiven, Ishaan, Anshika Singh, Bhavini Bisht, Megavarshini had shared their experience with happiness. Prose & Poetry was recited by Hriday, Alisha Choudhary and Aiza Nazir. This was followed by a presentation of very soothing Instrumental music by Shaurya Gupta & Pahal on the keyboard, accompanied by Vidush on clap box, Navneet, Tanmaya, Aadya, Shivang & Aryaman on the guitar. Thereafter a choir performance was put by Tanmaya & Jatin (Guitar), Abhiveer, Arshiya, Seher, Ananya Shrivastav, Pahal, Anaya, Aamini, Tarush, Shaurya, Sonakshi, Sriyah, Yuvraj Khanna.

The concluding act was a group western dance performance by Gayatri, Aarna, Trisha, Anwita, Samaira Kumar, Triambika, Alisha Choudhary, Lekhika Kanwar, Amyra Bhaiya and Sachi Bhardwaj. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ananya Singh. The comperes of the programme were Jatin, Ananya Singh, Aarav Gupta, Sanvi Sharma and Suhaani Drall. The Folders, Cards and the  Board for the assembly were made by Sarthak, Neil, Arshiya, Ananya Shrivastav, Pahal, Seher, Sonakshi, Yuvraj Khanna, Rachit Jain and Sanvi Nanda. Assembly XI-T & XI-U (22-11-2022)

Topic : “Sarbat Da Bhala”

On the account of the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji, the students of classes 11-T and 11-U came together in large numbers to give a message about equality, compassion and kindness, and their importance in our daily lives. The assembly commenced with seeking the blessings of nature and the Almighty through the morning prayer and classical dances; along with the news. With the thought of the day, skit and preachings, we aimed to highlight the preachings of Guru Nanak Dev about treating everyone as one, irrespective of their gender, caste, race and social class.

Compering was done by Arya, Diva, Guncha, Raina and Shreya. The morning prayer was sung by Aamna, Anushka, Ajooni, Diva, Falak, Hitaarth, Jaivardhan, Jyotiraditya, Kimaya, Raina, Riddhi, Sefat and Sneha. Samvida, Sripriya and Ananyaa gracefully performed the classical dance as the flute was played by Kartikeya accompanied by tabla played by Ganesh. The Thought for the Day was shared by Miesha and Sadiya. The News was read by Meet, Riddhi, Sankalp and Sneha. Ajooni, Jaivardhan, Jaysal, Sefat and Shreya enacted the skit, joined by the narrators – Amaya, Jyotir and Miesha, whose script was written by Arunima, Kartikeya, Gurbani Sadiya, Shreya and Swasti. Preachings were shared by Lakshmi, Shana, Vaani and Vridhi. The choir consisted of Aamna, Aditya, Amaya, Ananya, Ananyaa, Anushka, Ajooni, Charolekha, Chris, Falak, Hitaarth, Jaivardhan, Jyotiraditya, Kimaya, Raina, Rajsi, Riddhi, Saanvi, Sneha, Suhani, Swasti, Vaani, Yoshita and Zunaira along with guitarist, Palchin and keyboard player Diva. Bhangra was zestfully performed by Aanya, Aamna, Aaryaveer, Aninidita, Kavish, Lanica, Maansi, Samaira, Trisha, Vikram and Vrinda. Invitation Cards, Folders and the Board were beautifully made by Ananya, Kimaya, Miesha, Rachna, Riddhi, Samaira, Sara, Swasti and Yoshita. PowerPoint Presentation was managed by Arya, Hitaarth and Vikram.

Topic : “Give them wings, let them soar, as little they won’t be so very long- HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY.”

“Give them wings, let them soar, as little they won’t be so very long”. Through this topic the class wishes to revive all childhood memories. The assembly commenced with a morning prayer by Sarthak, Anish, Abhishek, Hiral,Adamya, Myra,Adwaiy,Avi,Yash,Mehul,Vikramaditya,Kabeer,Samaksh,Aarav,Ananyadeep,

Shashwat, Amber, Akshita, Gaurya. The comperes Hriday, Rudrakshi, Ruhaan and Bhuvi gave the audience an insight into the topic and started the assembly with the Ganesh Vandana performed by Sharanya.After this  thought of the day was given in different languages by the students-.Smahi- English,Rafael- Mizo,Swarnika – Bengali,Hoshika – Dogri,Lavanya K –  Hindi,Riddhi -Telegu,Pranav B – Sanskrit. This was followed by News all around the globe by Reet Bajaj, Hiral, Shashwat and Parth. 

A group of students- Mehul,Adwaiy,Myra,Aryan, Aarna, Praveer,Sarthak, Anish, Shashwat, Aarav, Ananyadeep, Vikramaditya,Kabeer,Shashwat, Amber, Akshita, Gaurya presented the song -”Seven  years” by Lucas Graham with Raghav and Swarnika on Keyboard, Shashwat, Guruvansh, Praveer, Yashwardhan, Niharika,Vansh,Parth on Guitar and Aarav on Violin. The power of words was  shown by the orators of the class through the speech given by Akshin,Utkarsh,Adamya, Akhil, Sharanya, Pranav N, Disha. An excellent contemporary dance was performed by Aashi,Asmi,Kaina, Saanvi, Vani and Akshita. This was followed by a self composed poem presented by Anoushka in English and Pranav in Hindi. In the end Kaina, Parth, Saanvi, Diya, Gurmani, Joban,Guruvansh,Harshil, Ujjwal, Kushagr, Ananya, Arushi, Gaurya presented a wonderful skit “Sweet memories of school life” 

Cards, Board and the Folders were done by Aarna,Diya,Swarnika,Gurmani,Niharika, Smahi, Reet Bajaj, Myra, Asmi, Hoshika, Vani, Mahima, Disha and Myra. The Powerpoint presentation was taken care of by Tanishq, Reet Singh and Adamya.

The main aim of the assembly was to wish Happy Children’s Day to all and to make them understand that this is the best phase of our lives and we should live it and enjoy it to its fullest.

Topic: “It is not the strongest who survives, not the most intelligent, but the ones who are most adaptable”

The students of 11-N and 11-O had their assembly on the topic “Change-The inevitable” to depict the importance of accepting and facing changes with courage. We enlightened the students on values such as adaptability and resilience. The assembly commenced with an enlightening morning prayer sung by Aviral, Ayush, Daksh, Garv, Suraj Vinayak, Tia, Keshav, Mayank, Krrish Arora, Vedansh, Jastaran, Vedant, Lakshay, Arham Nahar, Kanan, Katyayni, Argh, Eshan and Harshita. This was followed by a graceful Ganesh Vandana by Suhanee, Jia and Pavni. The most informative news was presented by Abhishek, Dhruv, Angad, Tavisha, Sahib and Aviral. Next, Chaitanya and Arham Kothari enlightened the audience with the thought of the day. A  poem recited by Sanchita came next.

A melodious song was presented by the choir – Ayush, Vinayak, Tia, Garv, Mayank, Suraj, Shauryaa, Jai, Aditi, Aradhya, Maahi, Parag, Lewete, Katyayni and Vedansh Rakyan. Following this, a speech was presented by Vinayak, Muskan, Kaushal and Harshita. A thought-provoking mime was acted out by Shauryaa, Ayush, Kaushal, Vinayak, Aarna, Dhairya and Tia. A breathtaking dance performance was presented by Muskan, Suhanee, Jia, Pavni, Simarpreet, Mayank, Aviral, Garv, Tanisha, Tanvi, Rayna, Anupriya, Manya, Sanchita, Alisha, Reeva. An eloquent compering was done by Aaishi, Manya, Falak and Arjun. Cards were prepared by Jia, Tavishi, Manya, Muskan and Jai. Jia, Jai, Mrinal, Dhairya and Daksh decorated a fantastic board. The delightful presentation was designed by Krrish. The amazing e-Invite was created by Muskan and Krrish.

AN EDUCATIONAL TOUR OF THE NATIONAL MUSEUM

The History Department of the school organized an educational tour to the National Museum for Class VI students from 15 November to 23 November 2022. The excursion to the museum was quite fascinating and enriching for the students as they went on a field trip with their friends for the first time after the pandemic. With the permission and guidance of Principal, Ms. Padma Srinivasan, it was facilitated by the Headmistress of Classes VI-VIII, Ms. Vinita Gupta, and Coordinator Ms. Shaloo Khanna.

The students were taken on a tour of various galleries such as the gallery of Harappan Civilization, the Early Medieval Art, the Late Medieval Art, and others showcasing Indian miniature paintings, sculptures, coins and statues of Buddha. Students showed keen interest in learning about ancient tools and weapons. They were fascinated by the ancient artifacts on display and the unique glimpse offered by all the objects and paintings, into the culture and heritage of India. The museum has undergone tremendous refurbishment in the last few years. It was a fun-filled experience for the students.

CELEBRATING THE SUCCESS OF AN ALUMNA

DPS RK Puram hosted the starcast of India’s first creature comedy Bhediya to celebrate the success of our alumna Ms Kriti Sanon, coming to theaters on the 25th of November, 2022 both in 2D and 3D. The guests included  Varun Dhawan, DPS RK Puram alumni Kriti Sanon (Batch of ‘07), Abhishek Banerjee, and debutant Paalin Kabak. A screening of the trailer was followed by an interactive session of the entire star cast with the students. 

The promotional session started with a screening of the trailer which evoked an enthusiastic response from the audience. This was followed by an interactive session with the students of classes XI and XII where the film-promotion team wished them luck for the remaining school year. The song Apna Bana Le introduced the lead actors Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon followed by songs Jungle Mein Kaand and Baaki Sab Theek. The team invited students on stage to learn and perform the hook steps of the signature song of the movie. 

The Principal Ms Padma Srinivasan, Vice Principals Mr Naresh Miglani, Mr Anil Kathuria, and Mr Mukesh Kumar and the Headmistresses Ms Rashmi Malhotra and Ms Vinita Gupta escorted Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Abhishek Banerjee, and Paalin Kabak to the stage amid energetic applause. 

Kriti Sanon was the epitome of grace, class, and beauty as she addressed her juniors warmly. She revived memories of her time in school and said that she was lucky to be present in school during the Golden Jubilee Year of DPS RK Puram. She reminisced about the Aloo Patties and Chowmein that were a staple during her time in school. She also said that DPS RK Puram gave her the confidence to follow her dreams and made her what she is today. She highlighted the importance of finding one’s passion in life. 

Varun Dhawan expressed his happiness to be in DPS RK Puram. He said that he thoroughly enjoyed spending time on campus, and listening to anecdotes of Kriti’s excellence in academics and co-curricular achievements. 

Abhishek Banerjee said that as a student he always looked up to DPS RK Puram as a wonderful institution, and was excited to be here in person. He also said that he had fun shooting the movie with his co-stars and crew, comparing it to a college trip. 

Paalin Kabak came on stage and gave a soulful rendition of a beautiful love song, and regaled the audience with comedic imitations of Kumar Sanu. 

Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan gave a sensational performance on Thumkeshwari and were joined by the rest of the cast members for a performance on Jungle Mein Kaand from the movie. 

Varun Dhawan followed up the entertaining session with an insight into their upcoming film Bhediya and addressed the conflict between Animal and Man, and underlined that the earth belongs to both. He added that this was a very special film geared towards spreading awareness amongst the younger cinephiles. He hoped that Bhediya would match the appeal of Hollywood Blockbusters. 

Kriti Sanon said that the movie was one of her personal favorites and she feels very connected with it. She talked about the VFX that were supplied by MPC Film who also gave the effects for Jungle Book, Planet of the Apes, and Lion King among others. 

The Principal Ms Padma Srinivasan joined the students in celebrating the success of Kriti Sanon, and hoped that she will be able to do the same for the present batch. She praised the journey of Kriti Sanon from her student life to superstardom.

The assembly commenced with a morning prayer by Prapti Mehra, Amisha Monga, Anusha Dhawan, Samaira Punchhi, Shaurya Chopra, Rishan Vig, Jasjeev Kukreja, Aarav Malik, Ayushmaan Gaba, Reeansh Gupta, Satvik Daksh Gupta, Smyaan Sharma, Samarth Gupta, Suyasha Maharia, Amaira Tandon, Divija Goyal, Siyona Nag, Guneet Kaur, Unesh, Aryaveer Kapoor, Varun Vellu, Jai Singh Bal, Deepansh Joshi, Dhanaisha Dhawan, Sanvi Mehra, Shaylah Shankar, Ananya Shome Sinha, Aahana Gulati. The comperes Arhaan Gupta, Irsia, Maahir, Aanvi Agarwal, Adhiraj Jain, Ray and Ayaan Bhakar gave the audience an insight into the topic and elucidated the significance of rules and regulations in one’s life. After this Twisha Grover, Arnav Gupta, Prapti Mehra and Rishan Vig, Suyasha, Divija, Aarav Jawa and Ryan gave a thought-provoking thought of the day and News. Garima, Vardaan, Anusha, Rudransh, Pranet Singh, Reeansh, Aarav Verma, Aryamman Ojha, Aviral Chadha, Sakshi Sinha, Sifat Khanna, Rakshit, Himanshu, Satvik, Medhansh, Sanaya, Aryaman, Pranit Verma presented a skit on National Constitution Day and its significance. The dance was performed by Devyangi Lal, Manya Soneja, Varsha Bhoumik, Aditi Rautela, Seona Sachdev, Vardaan Dogra, Amisha Monga, Anusha Dhawan, Mehr Gandhi, Prapti Mehra, Irsia Mazumder, Gariima Kucchal ,Avjit Singh, Guneet Kaur, Samarth Gupta, Yuvraj Gupta, Bhavik Kharbanda, Shaurya Chopra and Jasjeev Kukreja. A melodious song,” Give me Freedom” was sung by Vansh Gupta, Viraj Chaudary, Sachin Gangwar, Yuvraj Gupta, Samaira Puncchi, Amaira Tandon, Antarjot Singh, Jasjeev Kukreja, Nathan V Sherpa, Shaylah Shankar, Dhanaisha Dhawan, Sanvi Mehra, Deepansh Joshi, Ananya Shome Sinha, Aahana Gulati and Aryaveer Kapoor with the help of music instruments. The instruments were played by Aanya Moulik, Reyhan, Vardaan, Nathan and Jasjeev. The self-composed poem was sung by Siyona and Smyaan. Assembly Invitation Cards, folders and board work were done by Anusha, Aanvi, Divija, Suyasha, Amaira, Amisha, Siyona, Varsha, Aditi, Manya, Devyaangi, Sakshi, Dhanaisha and Seona. Omansh Duklan and Amairaa Gupta made the PowerPoint presentation. They dedicated a soulful song to the Constitution of India. The main aim of the assembly was to highlight the importance of rules and regulations and to see positivity in everything.
