ABHIVYAKTI 2025 –  ANNUAL ART AND PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL

Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram hosted Abhivyakti 2025, the annual inter-school Art and Performing Arts Festival, on Saturday, 8 November 2025. The event was a vibrant celebration of creativity, culture, and expression, witnessing enthusiastic participation from 22 schools across North India. A wide array of contests—ranging from pot painting, collage making, and Madhubani art to soulful music and dance performances—captured the essence of imaginative expression. Students from various classes participated with great zeal, showcasing unique ideas, cultural insight, and exceptional artistic talent.

‘Abhivyakti’ comprised seven events that highlighted the diverse artistic traditions of India. 

ONLINE EVENT

‘Swar Tarang’: Folk Group Song

Swar Tarang was an online pre-recorded competition. It was a tribute to the rich and diverse musical traditions of our country. Each team came together in harmony and rhythm, showcasing the timeless beauty of Indian classical and folk instruments. The judges evaluated the participants on the basis of sur, taal, variation, creativity and originality.

Naada-Swaram: Indian Orchestra Competition

‘Naada-Swaram’ was a celebration of India’s rich and soulful musical heritage. This orchestra competition invited young musicians to showcase the power of Indian instruments, creating rhythm and resonance that echo the timeless spirit of our culture. The participants were judged on the basis of intonation, synchronization, rhythm, creativity and originality.

‘Dynamics’: Battle of the Bands – Inter School Band Competition 

Dynamics was an electrifying inter-school band competition for the students of Classes VI to XII, to showcase their musical talents, and compete against the best school bands across the city. Each participating band consisted of up to 6 students, including 2 vocalists. The judgement criteria included vocal performance, instrumental skills, stage presence and coordination.

‘Nritya Sangam’: Inter School Group Dance Competition 

‘Nritya Sangam’ was a vibrant tribute to India’s rich cultural heritage that spoke of tradition and unity. The young performers explored the rhythmic beauty and storytelling power of Indian folk dances. The judges evaluated the participants on the basis of rhythm, authenticity of folk form, expressions and choreography.

‘Vibrant India’: Celebrating our Parampara (Madhubani Painting)

‘Vibrant India: Celebrating Our Parampara’ was a tribute to the enduring spirit of unity, resilience and artistic brilliance that Indian folk crafts encompass. Through the medium of art, this competition encouraged young artists to delve into the heart of India’s cultural legacy and inspired a deeper appreciation for the timeless values and customs of Madhubani painting that define our identity. The participants were judged on the basis of creative thinking, research, relevance to the theme and aesthetic appeal.

‘Faces of Freedom’: Collage Making

‘Faces of Freedom’ was an art competition for Classes IX-XII that offered a canvas for the participants to creatively express India’s rich heritage—celebrating legendary leaders, cultural symbols and unsung everyday heroes. The judgement criteria included research, execution, relevance to the theme and aesthetic appeal.

‘Designs of Bharat’: Inter School Pot Painting Competition 

‘Designs of Bharat’ was an art competition for Classes VI-VII. The competition was a celebration of India’s artistic heritage and cultural designs such as mandalas, alpana, henna patterns, and tribal motifs. The participants brought out not only intricate forms of the art, but also embodied the deep spiritual, cultural, and regional meanings. The judges evaluated the participants on the basis of creative thinking, research, skill, relevance to the theme and aesthetic appeal.

The valedictory ceremony of Abhivyakti 2025 began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the honoured guests: Ms. Stephanie Orfila –  Attachée for Cooperation in Education at the Institut Français, Embassy of France in India; Mr Sanjeev Bikhchandani – founder of Info Edge India Ltd; Dr. Rajram Yadav – the Deputy General Manager at the Delhi Metro and Guest Faculty at the Central Translation Bureau; Ms. Gaurie Dwivedi – journalist, author and classical dancer; along with the Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar; the Vice Principal, Ms. Rashmi Malhotra and the Headmistress, Dr Anubha Gopal. It was followed by a presentation of a melodious French song by the students, after which a vibrant Spanish dance performance showcased the global ethos of the fest, captivating the audience with its energy and elegance. An Indian folk song was also presented by the school choir. 

The Principal, Mr Anil Kumar, addressed the gathering, appreciating the talent displayed  by all the participants. He highlighted the need for curiosity and the spirit of enquiry  in students of all ages, affirming that DPS R.K. Puram continually nurtures these qualities through dedication and divine grace. He urged students to make the most of opportunities to learn from stalwarts and remain resilient.  He also congratulated all the participants and thanked the Vice Principals and Headmistress for their tireless efforts. 

Ms. Stephanie Orfila,  Attachée for Cooperation in Education at the Institut Français, Embassy of France in India, praised the outstanding performances she witnessed during the event. She also highlighted how multilingualism expands horizons and builds bridges across cultures. Mr. Sanjeev Bikhchandani, founder of Info Edge India Ltd, reflected on his association with the school and stressed on inculcating in students the values of commitment, curiosity, good company and giving back to the community.

The winners of the various events were announced thereafter. They were invited to the stage and felicitated. Delhi Public School R.K. Puram and Delhi Public School, Noida were declared the overall winners.

The ceremony drew to a graceful close with the National Anthem, marking the end of yet another successful edition of Abhivyakti—an event that continues to fuel imagination, celebrate diversity and inspire young performers to reach greater heights.

Assembly VI-A & VI-C (25-11-2025)

TOPIC: “SANSKRITIK PARAMPARA: HONOURING OUR RICH CULTURAL HERITAGE BY EMBRACING THE TRADITIONAL ARTS AND PRACTICES THAT SHAPE OUR IDENTITY”

On November 26, 2025, the students of Class VIA along with VIC celebrated the richness of Sanskritik Parampara during their morning assembly. The event, led by the dedicated comperes Aaryash, Amaira, Anasuya, Araanya, Asmara, Ivaanica, Viaan Jain, Vir, Shrey, Ashmit, Ayana, Hanshika, Kushagra and Meera, was conducted with confidence and grace.

The assembly began with a soulful rendition of the morning prayer by Deleena, Jagan, Krishang, Diksha, Prahaan, Shubham, Sreyoshi, Aairah, Suven, Swara, Aanya, Abhishek, Alex, Anshika, Ayana, Daksh, Harsh, Ishika, Janvi, Kavish, Navin, Ojas, Sarthak, Satyam, Seher, Vardaan, Vivaan, Xena and Prakhar, uniting everyone in devotion. The choir, featuring Abhilipsa, Anam, Anasuya, Ivaanica, Kavin, Kian, Shrey, Sreyoshi, Swara, Viyan Jain, Vir, Valentina, Avni, Ayana, Haniya, Ishika, Janvi, Meera, Pooja and Xena, set a serene and harmonious tone for the morning.

A beautifully enacted skit highlighted the importance of preserving India’s age-old cultural traditions, with Aarav, Abhiraj, Aman, Anaya, Avika, Jagannath, Piyush, Siddharth, Suven, Aryan, Aviana, Devarsh, Ishika, Naitanya, Sumehar, Vivaan and Xena portraying their characters with sincerity and depth. The assembly was further enriched by a graceful dance performance presented by Aairah, Celina, Shanaya, Yashvi and Sanatana, showcasing the elegance of India’s classical heritage.

Thought-provoking reflections were shared by Deleena, Swara, Seher and Haniya, adding a contemplative touch to the theme, while Kavin, Viyan Gambhir, Advit and Xena updated everyone with the day’s important news. This segment was supported by the wonderful digital presentation work of Harsh, Ishaan, Yuvaan and Devarsh, which visually enhanced the experience. A heartfelt poem presentation by Sreyoshi and Avni beautifully captured the spirit of Indian culture and tradition, leaving the audience touched. 

With warm words from the class teachers, the class representative, and the Headmistress, the assembly concluded on a note of pride, unity, and appreciation for our Sanskritik Parampara. The programme left everyone with a deeper understanding of India’s cultural roots and an enduring sense of togetherness.

Assembly XI-A & X-H (24-11-2025)

TOPIC: “LEGACY OF HUMAN INTELLECT AT DPS RKP”

LEADING LEGACY

On the afternoon of 24th November 2025, the AVH shimmered with reflection, grace, and intellectual vibrance as Classes XI A and XI H presented their Class Assembly on the theme “The Legacy of Human Intellect at DPS R.K. Puram.” What unfolded was a heartfelt tribute to the school’s tradition of perseverance, dedication, creativity, and excellence.

The assembly opened with the deeply moving prayer “O Palanhare,” rendered with devotion by Shivansh Gautam, Pragyan Singh, Vihaan Dilwaria, Swapnil Singh, Anirudh Dua, Oishee Halder, Agastaya Chandok, Nishchay Singh Rawat, Chetan Bisht, Gauransh Saini, Rishabh Samania, Manya Bhagat, Tejas Singh, Archit Barthwal, Sanvi Agarwal, Khyati Agarwal, Akhil Ranjan, Dhairya Pawa, and Saumya Nidhi. Their serene voices filled the hall with an atmosphere of hope, gratitude, and spiritual warmth, beautifully setting the tone for the afternoon.

This soulful beginning was followed by a graceful classical dance performance by Rishika Kumari, Aradhana Prakash Ranjan, Apurva Rani, and Pallavi Singh, whose expressive movements and elegance showcased the richness of classical dance. Carrying forward the reflective mood, the Thought for the Day was thoughtfully presented by Adhiraj Mayengbam and Saumya Nidhi, reminding the audience of the power of intellect and purposeful learning. The News Headlines, delivered by Pragyan Singh, Suhani Sinha, and Anirudh Dua, added clarity and relevance to the programme.

The assembly then transitioned into its central highlight — the skit “Museum of Achievers.” Brought to life by Kairav Chowdhury, Aamir Shahedi, Oishee Halder, Riya Sinha, Keshav Jalan, Krish Raj, Soumya Aswal, Shaurya Bharadwaj, Satvik Sharma, and Raghav Taneja, the performance transformed the stage into a living gallery where statues of distinguished alumni of DPS R.K. Puram came alive, each symbolizing remarkable accomplishments and sharing heartfelt reflections on determination, imagination, and the courage to dream.

The hall then resonated with uplifting energy as the Western Choir presented a spirited rendition of “Don’t Stop Believin’,” sung by Soumya Aswal, Kavya Balaji, Aashi Aarzoo, Oishee Halder, Akhil Ranjan, Arshia Elza Kuriyan, Prince Raj, Bullo Grace, Skarma Wanchuk, Lanchenbi Khundrakpam, and Shuhini Pheiroijam, accompanied by instrumentalists Kairav Chowdhury, Vihaan Dilwaria, Jayant Kartik, Teertharaj Lairanlakpam, and Khyati Agarwal.

The assembly’s seamless execution was ensured by comperes Jayant Kartik, Kavya Balaji, Meghavarshini, Anushka Nathawat, Aashi Aarzoo, and Manya Bhagat. The Creative Art Team — Soumya Aswal, Oishee Halder, Arsh Khan, Kinjal Gupta, and Pia Mittal — enriched each performance with thoughtful props and visual elegance.

The Digital Presentation was meticulously crafted by Arsh Khan, Raghav Taneja, Kairav Chowdhury, Divyansh Raj, Galax Luwang Thangjam, and Anusha Singh, while the script was shaped with dedication by Kairav Chowdhury, Rishika Kumari, Raghav Taneja, and Meghavarshini — together creating a radiant celebration of the enduring legacy of human intellect at DPS R.K. Puram.

Geography Awareness Week

17th-21st November 2025

Delhi Public School, RK Puram celebrated Geography Awareness Week from 17th to 21st November 2025 with great enthusiasm and remarkable success under the guidance of Ms. Sangita Bajpai, Coordinator, Department of Geography. 

Geography Awareness Week, first established in 1987 by the National Geographic Society and recognised internationally, highlights the importance of geographic thinking in understanding global issues, spatial patterns, and the interconnectedness of people and places. The 2025 international theme, “Spaces of Possibilities,” provided the conceptual framework for the celebrations. The event was further strengthened by the gracious presence and encouragement of Principal Mr. Anil Kumar, Vice Principals – Mr Miglani, Mr Kathuria, Mr Mukesh Kumar and Ms. Malhotra, Head Mistress Ms. Anubha Gopal, HODs Ms. Vandana Chandok, Ms Ritu Nayyar & teachers from various departments. 

The week kickstarted with Classes VI to VIII participating in an intersection softboard competition on “Geography in our daily lives” and  “Spaces of Possibilities,”

Throughout the week, students engaged in thematic displays and interactive activities.

“Who Am I?” game on cities in India, crossword on Hydroshere, world map tasks based on latitude and longitude, identifying  the geographic wonders challenge. These activities enriched geographical learning, enhanced analytical and mapping skills, and promoted environmental awareness. 

Conducted in the Granite Area of the school, the week concluded with prize distribution and musical elements that added vibrancy to the atmosphere. 

Ms Mahima Goel, Ms Deeksha Gupta, Ms Meera Raghav, Ms Swati Uppal and Ms Divya Kumari ignited the students imagination to create the games and facilitated their smooth execution. 

NATIONWIDE SUSTAINABILITY HACKATHON ORGANISED BY TERI SCHOOL OF ADVANCED STUDIES

Mayra Yadav and Kashvi Wadhwa of Class XI-J represented Delhi Public School, RK Puram at the Nationwide Sustainability Hackathon organised by TERI School of Advanced Studies, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi on 19th November 2025. The event brought together young innovators from across the country to present solutions addressing sustainability challenges through practical, impactful business ideas.

Among participants from across India, Mayra and Kashvi secured the 3rd Position along with a cash prize of 7,500, bringing laurel to the school with their socially conscious project. They participated under the guidance of their teacher, Ms Sangita Bajpai.

Beyond innovation, the idea emphasised measurable environmental impact. By reusing aluminium foil, the model significantly reduces energy consumption and diverting foil and textile waste from landfills helps prevent long-term pollution.

Guest Speaker Program Organized by the Research Club

RESEARCH ORIENTED INITIATIVES IN NURTURING ACADEMIC CURIOSITY 

The Research Club organized an insightful Guest Speaker Programme on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, in the seminar room from 5th to 7th periods. The programme began with the Principal Mr. Anil Kumar welcoming the guest Dr. H. K. Dangi and highlighting the importance of research-oriented initiatives in nurturing academic curiosity among students in his address.

The session featured Dr. H. K. Dangi, a distinguished professor from the Delhi School of Economics, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Dangi began the session by introducing the fundamental concepts of research. To make the ideas more accessible and engaging, he presented a series of illustrative videos that highlighted the basics of research methodology, the importance of critical thinking, and the practical application of research in various fields. These multimedia examples helped the audience grasp complex ideas in a simple and relatable manner.

An interactive session followed, where student body of the Research Club actively participated by asking questions and discussing research-related challenges. Dr. Dangi provided valuable insights, clarified doubts, and encouraged students to adopt a systematic and curious approach towards research.

The audience consisted exclusively of Research Club members, who benefited greatly from the session. The program was highly appreciated for its informative content and engaging format. Overall, the guest lecture contributed significantly to enhancing research awareness and motivating the students.

The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the Vice Principal               Ms. Rashmi Malhotra. She expressed her gratitude towards Dr. Dangi for sharing his expertise and enriching the students’ understanding of research. She also appreciated the efforts of the Research Club for organizing such a meaningful and educational event, and encouraged students to continue exploring and engaging with research-oriented activities.

Assembly VIII-G & VIII-H (19-11-2025)

TOPIC: “IF DPS WALLS COULD TALK: DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE SCHOOL ‘SPEAK’ ABOUT THEIR HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE”

The morning assembly of DPS R.K. Puram was conducted by classes VIII G and VIII H on 19th November 2025. The theme of the assembly was “If DPS Walls Could Talk.”

The programme began with a soulful morning prayer presented by Shaurya K. Sagar, Ruvir Sawhney, Manvik Aggarwal, Aarush Khare, Aryaveer Tomar, Arham Jain, Amaira Sethi, Taarya Kochar,Ansh Kumar, Naitik Gond, Ankit Mukhiya, Vedansh Sajwan, Reedan Khan, Rudra Pratap Singh, Avighna Gupta, Shreya Gogoi and Shanaya Mehta. Their melodious voices created a serene and devotional atmosphere to start the day.

The skit was the highlight of the programme, performed by students Veer Chawla, Prithviraj Deb, Dhananjay Gehlot, Aryaveer Tomar, Anika Garodia, Anuradha Singh and Kaavya Mongia experiencing a day at DPS R.K. Puram. Through their eyes, the audience witnessed how discipline, academics, co-curricular activities, and values go hand in hand to nurture leaders of tomorrow.

The News Headlines followed, with Priyal Jain, Aahana Khanna, Shreyan Mittal, Nandini K. Jha delivering updates from the national, international, and sports arenas, along with the weather forecast. The Thought for the Day was shared by Taarya Kochar, Anuradha Singh, Pratyusha Lakhotia and Viraj Soni encouraging everyone to adopt positivity and perseverance. A reflective poem was recited by Pranav Prabha and Kaira Gulati adding literary depth to the programme. The cultural segment began with a motivational choir and orchestra performance by Viraj Soni, Samar K. Pani, Aaradhy Kataria, Pratyusha Lakhotia, Arnav R. Mandal, Shreyan Mittal, Yash Kumar, Vivaan Arora, Lakshay Nagar,Vivaan Arora, Lakshay Nagar,Veera Kaushik, Harleen Kaur, Saesha Markanda, Anika Chaudhary, Aryan Kanwar and Aratrika Bhardwaj

Their music echoed through the hall, inspiring the entire gathering. This was followed by graceful dance performances presented by Taarya Kochar, Amaira Sethi, Varuni Kishore, Anika Gupta, Varnikaa Gupta, Gayatri Pradhan, Prisha Kashyap, Angel Aggarwal, Divya Upreti, Meher Jagpal, Naira Mahajan, Anaisha Mahajan, Vidushi Jain and Aradhya Manchanda on a motivational theme, which left the audience spellbound. Assembly was compered by Tanushree, Raghav Gulati, Medha Menon, Akul Gangwani and Akshat Bhasin. Folders/Invites/Digital Presentation were prepared by Aadvik Jain, Tanushree, Nandini K. Jha, Prisha Kashyap, Aradhya Manchanda, Divya Upreti, Indira Gupta, Myra Singh and Poojita.

Note:  On exam days, students are allowed to go home after the exam at 10:35 am. It is compulsory for all students to carry their ID card. OPEN HOUSE – CLASS X 

The Open House for the parents of Class X was organised on 1 November 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in order to facilitate a fruitful interaction between the parents and the subject teachers. 

The parents interacted with the subject teachers on a one-to-one basis regarding their ward’s academic and class performance. Subject teachers briefed the parents regarding assignments and submissions. Parents were appreciative of the efforts of the teachers and the school authorities.

AI INNOVATION AND INCUBATION CENTRE INAUGURATION CEREMONY

Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram marked a historic milestone in school education with the inauguration of the ΩZω – the AI Innovation and Incubation Centre’ on 13 November 2025. The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Government of India. The Guests of Honour for the event were Dr Joseph Emmanuel, the Chief Executive & Secretary, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations; Shri Sanjeev Kaura, President, Times Foundation; Shri Vivek Bansal, the Co Founder and President of VVDN Technologies and Shri Ashish Wattal, Country Director, Public Sector, Google Cloud. 

The event was an endeavour by the school to celebrate its pioneering step towards integrating artificial intelligence, innovation and research into the curriculum. This centre symbolizes a new era of experiential, technology-driven education at DPS R.K. Puram which will not only serve the students of DPS R.K. Puram but also be a valuable resource for other schools. It will be especially beneficial for the neighbouring and government schools, whose students will be able to avail its facilities and resources, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to explore, learn and innovate with the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, collaboration and creative problem-solving. By opening its doors and sharing its facilities, expertise and innovations, this centre will help schools across the region. It embodies the spirit of inclusive growth and shared progress that our education system strives for.

The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the unveiling of the AI Innovation and Incubation Centre, by the Chief Guest, Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, the Guests of Honour, Dr Joseph Emmanuel, Shri Sanjeev Kaura, Shri Vivek Bansal and Shri Ashish Wattal, Country Director, Public Sector, Google Cloud along with the Principal, Mr Anil Kumar, the Vice Principals, Mr Naresh Miglani, Mr Mukesh Kumar, Mr Anil Kathuria and Ms Rashmi Malhotra and the Headmistresses, Dr Anubha Gopal and Ms Vinita Gupta.

The dignitaries then proceeded to the AI Innovation and Incubation Centre which has been established in partnership with VVDN Technologies and powered by Google Cloud. The AI Innovation and Incubation Centre is a pioneering initiative to integrate artificial intelligence, cloud computing and applied research into school education which aims to nurture future-ready learners, innovators and ethical AI practitioners. The initiative represents a transformative step toward experiential, project-based learning—bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world technology.

The guests were welcomed to the AI Incubation and Innovation Centre by a robot. This was followed by a devotional hymn. Thereafter, students showcased a variety of projects created with the help of Artificial Intelligence. The guests also appreciated the infrastructure in the centre which included a UXA Humanoid and Sony AIBO Companion Robot, high-performance AI workstations, Google Chromebooks, AR/VR headsets and robotics kits.

The cultural programme for the evening then commenced in the Audio-Visual Hall with a melodious presentation by the Indian orchestra. The soulful music blended tradition with technology and symbolized the harmony between art and innovation. Thereafter, the audience was treated to a mesmerizing Indian dance performance, a confluence of Odissi and Mayurbhanj Chhau, celebrating the divinity, art and spirit of Odisha. The performance captivated everyone with its graceful movements. Its expressive storytelling added colour and rhythm to the ceremony. 

The Principal, Shri Anil Kumar, addressed the gathering and emphasized on the judicious use of Artificial Intelligence, urging students to harness its potential wisely and ensure that it remains a slave to human intellect and not become its master. He also highlighted how this initiative represents a transformative step toward experiential, project-based learning that bridges the gap between classroom theory and real-world technology. 

A melodious Indian vocal music performance was then presented where the students captivated the audience with a soulful Odia Bhajan. Their performance filled the atmosphere with rhythm and devotion, adding a touch of artistic grace to the technologically inspired celebration. 

On the occasion of the completion of 150 years of the National Song, ‘Vande Mataram’, a melodious rendition of the song filled the gathering with pride and devotion towards their motherland. The Chief Guest, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Government of India, administered the Swadeshi Sankalp Shapath, inspiring students to uphold indigenous innovation, respect Indian culture and contribute towards a self-reliant and progressive nation, a vision in consonance with the National Education Policy 2020.

In his address, the Chief Guest, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, drew a parallel with Bankim Chandra’s Anand Math, highlighting the spirit of Swaraj as a call for self-reliance in today’s world. He remarked that this is the right time to adopt Artificial Intelligence responsibly, as Gen Alpha will pave the way for global solutions. He expressed confidence that the children of India, driven by vision and purpose, will emerge as the world’s future leaders, reaffirming that the true strength of India lies in its youth and their dreams.

The Vote of thanks was delivered wherein heartfelt gratitude was expressed to the Chief Guest, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and all the honourable dignitaries for gracing the occasion with their esteemed presence. A special appreciation was also extended to the cultural teams for their vibrant performances and to the technical team for their efforts in setting everything up. 

The event concluded gracefully with the resounding rendition of the National Anthem. 

First Position in Inter DPS National Western Vocal Music Festival

Delhi Public School, Dwarka hosted the Inter-DPS Western Vocal Music Festival 2025 under the aegis of The DPS Society on Saturday, 15 November 2025. The event brought together talented young vocalists from across the DPS fraternity.

Participants from 76  Delhi Public Schools across the country took part in this prestigious festival. After a rigorous preliminary screening, the shortlisted 20 school teams competed in the final round. The performances were evaluated by an eminent panel of judges, renowned in the field of Western music.

The choir of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram delivered an exceptional performance and clinched the 1st Position in the Group Song Category, showcasing remarkable harmony, expression, and musicality.
