TOPIC: “SANSKRITIK PARAMPARA: HONOURING OUR RICH CULTURAL HERITAGE BY EMBRACING THE TRADITIONAL ARTS AND PRACTICES THAT SHAPE OUR IDENTITY”
The ancient Gurukul system was a traditional form of education in India that dates back thousands of years. In this system, students, known as shishyas, lived with their teacher, or guru, in a forest hermitage or secluded ashram. Education in the Gurukul was holistic, focusing not only on academic knowledge like the Vedas, mathematics, astronomy, and grammar but also on values such as discipline, humility, respect, and self-reliance.
The assembly started with a beautiful prayer sung by Prince, Priyanshi, Akshay Raj, Hitesh, Vaibhav, Rishav, Aaryaman, Rishu, Divyansh, Parth, Vihaan, and Piyush.
The comperes were Abhyansh, Alayna, and Trisha. The classical dance was presented by Prisha, Kavisha Riyona, Aaradhya, and Payal. Vivaan and Parth presented the day’s thoughts. Self-composed poems were recited by Raghavi, Payal, Sharanya, and Varnika.
A short play was performed by Agastya, Vaibhav, and Reyansh. News was presented by Piya, Ishaya, Riyansh, and Aaryaman. Through the skit, the students were able to understand the importance of Gurukul. Speeches were delivered by Anjaneya and Trisha. A self-composed song was sung by Khushal, Raghavi, Riyansh, Anjaneya, Priyanshi, Parth, Varnika, and Vanshika.

WORKSHOP ON PEACE EDUCATION
The workshop on ‘Peace Education’ was held on 2nd July 2025 in the AVH for the students of class XI Commerce and Humanities.It was conducted by Dr.Mona Mehta, a senior journalist.She has been writing for and editing the Speaking Tree,the philosophical and spiritual section of The Times of India.She was introduced by Ms.Swati Verma.
She stressed on realizing peace focussing on 3 C’s of Connection,Continuity and Consistency .A peaceful mind leads to a successful life.This was followed by a short meditation and a question answer session.It was a transformational workshop.
The vote of thanks was proposed by our Vice Principal Mr.Anil Kathuria.The workshop was the initiated and organised by Ms.Sohini Chakravarty.



Assembly IX-C & IX-D (08-07-2025)
TOPIC: “INSPIRING JOURNEYS/ CELEBRATING ACHIEVEMENTS: SHAPING FUTURE LEADERS, NURTURING TALENT AND PASSION, FOSTERING GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE”
जो पीढ़ी दर पीढ़ी आए,
संस्कृति की ज्योति जगमगाए।

हर युग को वह राह दिखाए।
The theme for the assembly was “The Legacy of Delhi Public School RK Puram”. Keeping this theme in mind, the class assembly of IX-C & IX-D begins the story of how every decade at DPS RK Puram left behind more than just memories. It left a legacy.”
To illustrate the theme, Saisha Surjewala, Aavya Virmani, Aadya Bhasin, Dhruv Bajpai, Pranjal Mahendra, Mohammad Bilal [as EX students of DPS], Saisha, Eva, Arshaliya, Vivaan, Virat, Aditya [alumni of DPS RKP] performed a skit. The assembly began with a soulful morning prayer sung by Rida Ahmad, Shubhi Tripathi, Punya Singh, Lavanya Balodi, Jatin Badgujar, Shriya Jha, Kanwar Udai Singh, Aditya Anand, Abeer Jain, Nipun, Abhijay, Abhiraj Tokas, Arin, Daksh, Kaustav, Yugal, Arnav, Pragyan, Adhrit, Prakshal, Yash, Mishka. Then the Principal, Mr Anil Kumar, welcomed everyone with an eloquent prayer.
This was followed by Aanya Bhatia, Peehoo Piyush, Maithili, and Shnaysa performing the Vandana. The news was read by Advik Trehan, Akshita Kumar, Bhuvi and Aaryav. Ekansh Rana, Ashray Kaushik recited the shlok while Mehar, Anandit shared their thoughts for the day. Poems Enactment by Adya Agarwal, Vidhi, Vaanya. Thereafter, the energy of the stage was taken a notch higher by a group dance performance by Tvisha Sehgal, Pratyusha Garg, Vidhi Prakash, Navya, Jaanya, and Yadavi. A soulful group song performance along with orchestra was presented by Rida Ahmad, Punya Singh, Shriya Jha, Gurleen Kaur, Shubhi Tripathi, Abeer Jain, Devin Jain, Aadit Hari, Ayushman Verma, Annirudh Mandal, Aryaveer Chugh, Aaditya Sharan, Sia, Mishka, Anika, Bhuvi, Vaanya, Daakshya, Vidhi, Atharv, Aatiksh. The vote of thanks was delivered by Abhiraj Dev Pandey.
The comperes of the programme were Vivaan, Saaransh, Abhiraj Dev Pandey, and Bhuvi. The exquisite invitation cards, folders, and board were made by Atiksh, Prisha, Neymat, Jaanya, Aditya, Priyank, Gurleen Kaur, Shriya Jha, Sparsh Sinha, Akshuna, and Suryashis. The Digital presentation & E-invite was made by Aayan Ashraf, Aarav Solanki, Kshitij Chaudhary, Shaurya Bhardwaj, Shaurya Dabas, Diya, Aarya, Ayushman, Abhiraj Dev Pandey, and Saaransh.
