Topic: The best way to predict the future is to create it.

One can choose two paths in life. The first is a quick and easy path where we look for shortcuts; the second path is much more difficult and painful. Choosing the second path seems like walking on a bed of thorns but the easy path isn’t always so for long. If the roots of a plant aren’t strong then even the lightest breeze can knock it over. The students of class XI-G and XI-M beautifully rendered this idea by incorporating Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals in their self composed poem and painting. They brought out the different facets of Rajasthan through their invitations and a traditional ‘Ghoomar’ dance performance. The students incorporated beautiful thoughts, speech, music and an instrumental performance. Through their assembly they conveyed the message that, “The best way to predict the future is to create it.”

We often view life from a perspective where we believe that the grass is always greener on the other side. We start finding excuses for not being able to see the green grass on our side. One should always remember that every coloured photograph is developed from a black and white film and every colour reflected by a photograph is not the true pigment rather it is a shade that we want others to see. Each one of us is unique in our own way and it is up to us what we can do to make the world a better place. It’s the decision that gives way to a miserable or a marvelous life. Life will be more colourful if we add colour to it by watering and cultivating the grass on our side. Students of XI-F and XI-J also incorporated the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi in their morning prayer, thoughts for the day and speech. A small presentation was made on the state of Tamil Nadu along with a Mridangam and Bharatanatyam performance to highlight its rich cultural heritage.
