Team Tersus comprising of Arush Bansal (X1C), Vishrut Malik(12J) and Akshat Pandey( 12G)developed and presented Averso at Tryst 2018 , IIT Delhi. Tryst is the annual technical festival of the IIT Delhi, held from 26-28 February 2018. The festival is the largest technical fest of India with a footfall of more than 45,000 people from different schools and universities around the world.
The team from DPS, RK Puram was the Winner of the Fake Research Event that is the International Research Competition and Runners Up in the Paper Presentation Event on Sustainable Development.
They developed and presented Averso, which can be incorporated in Wildfires Systems, thereby protecting the environment from damages cause by wildfires. It is a combination of a device and a relay tower for processing data and transmitting it to the respective authorities. The device contains a combination of hydrogen sensors, IR sensors and mobile phones to form a transmission network between devices and relay towers. It also uses an amplified sound detection system for detection of illegal logging of wood.
The students were praised for their prototypes and phenomenal research paper on early detection of wildfires and illegal logging. They were awarded certificates and a cash prize of INR 10,000.
