Delhi Public School R.K. Puram’s Expressions Theatre Club hosted its annual theatre festival, THEATRON 2026 – Thirst for Theatre, on 22nd August 2026. A vibrant celebration of creativity, imagination, and performance, the festival brought together talented young theatre enthusiasts from schools across Delhi NCR and various parts of India. The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Ms Anamika Grover, a versatile singer and accomplished actor.
Featuring 12 distinctive online and on-site events, THEATRON provided participants with a dynamic platform to showcase their artistic prowess across diverse facets of theatre, including acting, scriptwriting, music, dance, direction, improvisation, and stagecraft. The competitions were adjudicated by an eminent panel of jury members, whose expertise and insights added immense value to the festival.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of theatre aficionados, comprising jury members, participants from schools across the country, teachers, and members of the Expressions Theatre Club. The audience was treated to a spectacular array of performances, ranging from compelling monologues and thought-provoking mime acts to energetic ensemble productions. Each performance reflected the students’ passion, creativity, confidence, and commitment, leaving the audience thoroughly captivated.
The various competitions featured at THEATRON 2026 included Nukkad Ki Goonj, Stage-A-Thon, Ads Act, Thespian Coliseum, Mime, Play-O-Poem, Stand-up Comedy, Courtroom Drama, Bolt from the Blue (Surprise Event), Dance Drama, Movie Making (Online Event), and Mimicry (Online Event).
The Valedictory Ceremony commenced with Ms Sanya Taneja, Teacher In-charge, Expressions Theatre Club, expressing her gratitude to the Principal, Mr Anil Kumar, for his constant encouragement and support. She also acknowledged the unflinching support of the Vice Principals, Mr Naresh Miglani, Mr Anil Kathuria, Mr Mukesh Kumar and Ms Rashmi Malhotra. She also conveyed her appreciation to the Chief Guest, esteemed jury members, participating schools, teachers, and students whose enthusiastic involvement contributed to the grand success of the festival.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Ms Anamika Grover shared enriching insights from her own experiences in the performing arts and encouraged the young participants to pursue their creative journeys with passion, confidence, and perseverance. She extended her best wishes to all the students for their future endeavours.
The much-awaited prize distribution ceremony followed, as winners across the various categories were felicitated for their exceptional performances. The auditorium resonated with cheers and applause as students celebrated their achievements and those of their fellow participants.
Delhi Public School Noida emerged as the Overall Winner of THEATRON 2026, earning the distinction through its outstanding performances across the festival’s diverse events. The ceremony concluded on a patriotic note with the rendition of the National Anthem, bringing to a close a memorable celebration of theatre, creativity, and youthful expression.
