The members of Slingsby’s Theatre Group, Australia conducted a workshop for Classes 6 – 9 and 11 on 9 January, 2019.
The workshop started with a basic introduction and warm up session, helping the students to understand the dynamics of stagecraft. It was a hands-on experience which focused on the distinctive theatre techniques used in Adelaide based Slingsby’s International Touring productions.
The participants were divided into small groups and were given the topic “Unfound Treasure” wherein they created short pieces of theatre combining miniature worlds, shadows and narration. The teams interpreted the idea in their own ways and enacted a small scene from their plots in the given time limit.
The workshop was a treat for all the theatre enthusiasts and indeed a great learning experience.
