Spinal Injury Prevention Week, organised in connection with Spinal Cord Injury Day, was observed in the first week of September 2026 with the aim of promoting awareness about the prevention and management of spinal cord injuries. The initiative by the Department of Spine & Rehabilitation Centre, Sri Balaji Action Medical Institute, encouraged the students to understand the importance of safety measures and injury prevention.
As part of the awareness initiative, students participated in Slogan Writing and Poster Making Competitions on 01 september 26 on the theme of spinal cord injury prevention. The competitions provided an opportunity for students to express their creativity while conveying meaningful messages on safety and prevention.
Students of DPS RK Puram brought laurels to the school through their commendable performances. Anaisha Arora (VI-G) received a Special Award in the Slogan Writing Competition, while Anuttra Sinha (X-G) received a Special Award in the Poster Making Competition. A Special Award was conferred upon Ms Niva Chhonkar, HOD Biology and Ms Sherin Babu in recognition of their efforts and contributions towards the initiative and spreading awareness about spinal cord injury prevention. The achievements reflect the students’ creativity and the school’s commitment to promoting health awareness, safety, and inclusivity.
