Class XII Farewell 2022-2023

As the academic year comes to a close, it’s time to bid farewell to the outgoing batch of 2023. This year’s farewell was held on 3rd February 2023 and was an evening to remember. The decoration was breathtaking with an amazing display of colours and balloons that truly set the mood for the evening of celebration.

The dance performances were the highlight of the evening, with students showcasing their talents in a medley of 9 songs including Kala Chashma, Desi Girl, Sade Gully, Om Shanti Om, Ainvayi Ainvayi, Tumse Milke Dil Ka jo Haal, Sauda Khara Khara, Gadi Red Challenger and Dhakad. The energy and enthusiasm of the performers brought the audience to their feet and the room was filled with applause and cheers.

This batch has faced numerous challenges, with the COVID-19 pandemic being the most significant one. Despite the setbacks, the students have persevered and have come out stronger. This farewell was a testament to their resilience and a celebration of their journey.As we say goodbye to our 50th batch, we reflect on the memories we have shared and the bonds we have formed. This farewell marked the end of their high school journey and it was a befitting tribute to the hard work and dedication they have shown throughout their years here.

In conclusion, the farewell was an evening to remember, filled with laughter, tears, and memories that will last a lifetime. As the students move on to the next chapter of their lives, we wish them all the best and hope they will look back on their high school years with fondness.

Hostel Farewell

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” – Lao Tzu.

The Hostel Farewell of 2023 was a suitable beginning to the outgoing  hostel batch of 2023’s upcoming voyage. Both the boys’ and girls’ hostel students attended the event, which was held on February 4 in the Audio Visual Hall.

The hostel students gave spirited performances during the farewell, showcasing their skill in dance, singing, and other art forms. The audience was treated to a spellbinding exhibition of musical performances, vivacious dance routines, and hilarious sketches. The students gave their best during the performances, working hard to make the farewell a special occasion.

The combined afterparty and dinner demonstrated the students’ bond from both hostels. The students socialized, danced, and shared stories, resulting in memories that will last a life time. Seniors were presented with mementos in the form of trophies and sashes from the juniors, which they will treasure as a reminder of their time at the hostel. The event was a befitting send-off for the outgoing students, who shared their experiences and memories from their time spent at the hostel.

Overall, the 2023 Hostel Farewell was a memorable event that highlighted the hostel students’ talents and camaraderie.

Assembly VII-E & VII-F (03-02-2023)

Topic: Army Day: The Unheard Courage of a Soldier
With this theme in mind the students of VII-E and VII-F presented an extraordinary assembly

on the topic- Army Day: The Unheard Courage of a Soldier.The Assembly began with the morning prayer- ‘Hey Sharde Maa’ to invoke the blessings of  goddess Saraswati the goddess of Knowledge and Performing Arts. The Morning prayer was performed by-Sara, Lamiya, Rudrakshi, Aditya, Manmeet, Parul, Aaron, Aditya, Aditya Goswami, Astha, Vani, Anik, Atharv, Achintya, Jagesh, Samar, Prithvi, Shreshtha, Gauri, Naisha, Pradatta, Abhiveer, Tanish Gulgulia, Harshveer, Tanishq. Next event was the devotional dance titled ‘Bhaj Govindam’ composed by Adi Shankaracharya a prominent figure in Indian devotion movement. The dance was performed by-Tannesha, Ritika, Anusha, Mritsha, Astha, Gauri, Vani. Next the theme of the assembly was formally introduced by Akshara and Ayana.

To motivate the viewers the Thought for the day was presented  by Anvi, Shubham Lodhi, Parth, Sumair, Vani, Mahikaa, Sukhraj. An aware citizen is one who is aware of the events taking place around the world. Students of VII E and VII F presented a News Skit highlighting important news headlines of the Day. The news was presented by Kiaan, Khushi , Abhay, Shubham, Rudrakshi, Gauri, Kiaan, Khushi , Abhay, Vihaan. Next on the event list was the Interesting fact in order to add to the knowledge of the viewers. The facts were presented by Harsh, Shristi, Surya. The students of class VII E and VII F are multi-talented, this was showcased very well with the Self Composed poem of Vaishvi Mittal and Saanvii Saluja. An assembly presentation is incomplete without a skit, dance and Orchestra presentation. Various art forms were showcased in the assembly. First was theme related skit cum musical performance titled- ‘Mere Desh Ki Mitti’. The skit included poetry recitation highlighting important events in the life of a Soldier. The events were narrated by Kshitij, Aniket and Abhiveer and enacted by Surbhi, Rudrakshi, Ridhima, Rasmika, Rakshit, Ayaan, Saanvi Gugnani. The skit was followed by an army themed dance presentation  by Anika, Amaira, Anvi, Gauri, Aditya Goswami, Aditya, Ayaana, Khushi, Khushi Vijay, Naisha, Praaket, Saanvi Saluja, Sairah, Sanvi Sawhney, Sukhraj, Tanish Shankar. The Last event of the day was a melodious, enchanting and mesmerising Musical orchestra performance by Anaisha, Kshitij, Kiaan, Ayaan, Rajat, Aaira, Saisha, Sara, Vaideesh, Naintara, Saanvi Gugnani, Aarav Garg, Vihaan, Devyansh, Viraj. The main comperes of the event were Akshara, Anaisha, Aniket, Govind, Naintara, Saisha, Surbhi, Khushi, Kshitij, Ayana, Praaket, Samaira. Cards and Board were prepared by – Amaira, Ritika, Anusha, Mritsha, Anaihira, Rasmika, Aniket, Aaira, Rudrakshi, Gauri, Samaira, Mishti, Saanvi Saluja, Mahikaa, Aarav, Achintya, Parth, Pradatta, Sairah, Sampann. An excellent powerpoint presentation was created by Govind, Kshitj and Abhiveer. Cupcakes were baked by  Gauri, Ayana, Praaket and Samaira  inviting the Principal, Headmistress and our class representatives.

Assembly VI-K (31-01-2023)

Topic : “GRATITUDE”

“Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues but the parent of all others” wrote Roman philosopher Cicero. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow. The assembly tries to signify the importance of appreciating and being grateful for things around us.

Class VI-K presented their assembly on 31st January 2023 under the guidance of their class teacher Ms.Bharti Shukla. The topic for the assembly was ‘Gratitude’.The assembly commenced with the melodious morning prayer “तेरी है जमीं…तेरा आसमां” sung by Anshika Gupta, Hrida Datta, Fatima Syed, Utsaav Bansal, Anshika Kathuria, Pihu Vaish, Myesha Vinayak, Arman Jain, Kritika Chetri , Aanya Dobal, Saisha Ghandi, Jivisha Jain, Arya Kumari, Hriday Chadha, Mohd. Arhaan, Harshdeep Singh, Riddhi Dham, Kartikeya, Kriday Guglani, Aditya Khanna and Vir Jason. This was followed by the Saraswati Vandana by Maisha, Aanya, Saisha, Jivisha, Anshika G, Kritika and Pihu. Next, to enlighten the gathering, came the thought of the day spoken by Aarchi and Dhani. The news updates were given next by Garvit Marwah, Anshika Kathuria, Kriday Guglani and Apeksha Mathur. Utsaav Bansal, Ruhaan Arora and Kritika Kshetri recited a beautiful self composed poem. Going ahead with the programme, the choir which included Neeva Jain, Amaya Alug, Aira Naik, Tahira Singh, Hrida Datta and Fatima Syed sang a beautiful mellifluous song.A beautiful skit about being thankful for everything was presented by Anushka Jain, Ahmed Abdullah, Neeva Jain, Ruhaan Arora, Utsaav Bansal, Viihaan Anand, Hriday Chadda, Dhani Chhokar and Vir Jason. The assembly ended with a vibrant western dance performance by Anushka Jain, Neeva Jain, Amaya Alug, Himanshu, Prateet Singh Marwah, Ridaan Jain, Aira Naik, Tahira Singh and Ritika Malik.

Comperes for the assembly were Veer Chawala and Anushka Jain. Invite cards and Folders were made magnificently by Aaira Naik and Myesha Vinayak. Utsaav Bansal, Pihu Vaish and Myesha Vinayak decorated the class assembly board beautifully. Havish made the digital presentation and e-invite.

Pariksha Pe Charcha 2023 : An Interactive Session with the Prime Minister

There were times when examination time used to be a time of stress and anxiety for the students and their parents.As part of the fifth edition of, “Pariksha Pe Charcha 2023”, Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, discussed ways to handle the examination stress with students, teachers and parents in an interactive session at Talkatora Stadium on Friday , 27th January , 2023 at 11 Am .

This programme was telecast live for all the students of Delhi Public School RK Puram in the Audio Visual Hall.Students from across the country interacted with the PM to understand how  to overcome anxiety surrounding the examinations .From the beginning itself,  the PM made the students feel at home and began his address with the new year greetings. He emphasised on the role of the Young India in shaping the future and destiny of the world 

PM ModiJi answered questions ranging from motivating themselves to the limitless opportunities that are available to the students in the current times.  Further, he laid emphasis upon the importance  of extracurricular activities and reminded the students that marks are not everything. He also touched upon the impact and the changes that technology has ushered in  the modern times and advised us about a judicious use of technology and social media. He further said that motivation is the key to success.He also dissuaded students from procrastinating as it led to inefficiency. He also asked the students to maintain a diary to remember things and work in a more organised manner. He also said that exams are not life but a part of life.

It was a learning and lifetime experience for all the students and teachers. They learnt from the Prime Minister how to prove themselves, how to meet the greater expectations of life and how technology can lead to expansion of their mind and soul.

Assembly VII-B & VII-G (27-01-2023)

Topic : “PATRIOTISM: हमारी प्राथमिकता”

The students of class VII- B and G celebrated the life of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose through their morning presentation on 27 January 2023 on the theme “PATRIOTISM: हमारी प्राथमिकता”.The assembly commenced with the prayer “Ye matt kaho Khuda se meri mushkilein badi hai” sung by Suhani, Aaliya, Avani, Vaibhav, Rishabh, Jatin, Abhinav, Keshav, Sivanta, Garv, Dyumna, Barkha,  Kedara, Shivanjali, Aakriti, Ishita, Aayu, Niharika, Vidhi, Ayana, Ritika and Ankita. This was followed by melodious Saraswati Vandana by Kedara, Purab and Anirban. 

After this, the Principal, Ms Padma Srinivasan welcomed everyone with an eloquent prayer.This was followed by shloka recitation by Siddhi and thought for the day by Bhavik, Mayansh and Ishita. Then, the news for the day was read by Urvee, Naitik, Samyukhta and the weather report by Vivaan. This was followed by an energetic and fabulous classical dance by Aanya, Barkha, Siddhi, Avani and Shreya on the soulful song “Vande Matram”. 

This was followed by story-telling and speech on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose by Aarsheya, Rishi, Samarth, Yuvaan, Suhani and Garv. Then there was a beautiful patriotic self-composed poem by Aaliya. After this, a mesmerizing instrumental music performance was executed by Vansh and Sanvi who played the keyboard, Anirban played tabla while Purab & Nipun played clapbox. Next was an energetic group dance performance on the song “Kadam kadam badhaye ja” by Shivaya, Aanya, Aayu, Aarsheya, Aadya, Ronak, Astha, Yashraj, Rishi, Atharv, Shivam, Anupam, Samarth, Hamza, Keshav, Jatin, Rishabh, Bhavik, Veer, Sonanshi, Shreya, Barkha, Dyumna, Avani and Aaliya.

The comperes were Samanyu and Aakriti. The board and artwork was made by Shreya, Aanya, Aayu and Vidhi. Folders and Invitation prepared by Aanya Yadav and Shreya. E-invite by Atharv and Shivaya, digital presentation prepared and coordinated by Atharv, Vidhi, Ishita and Mayansh.

WINNER IN KATHA VACHAN (STORY TELLING) COMPETITION

The Indian School organized an Interschool Sanskrit Vachan Kaushal Pratiyogita 2023 on Tuesday, 31st January 2023. More than 17 schools participated in the competition and Vaishnavi Sudarshan, student of Class VII A secured the 1st position in Katha Vachan (Story Telling) Competition. She also received a certificate and a cheque of Rs. 5000.

Assembly VI-I & VI-J (25-01-2023)

Topic : “हमारा गणतंत्र ”

The students of class VI- I and J celebrated democracy through their morning presentation on 25 January 2023 on the theme “हमारा गणतंत्र”.

The presentation began with a soulful rendition of the prayer ‘अधरं….मधुरं’..वदनं…मधुरं  by Veda Chawla, Viraj Mishra, Kiara Chowdhary, Kiara Nagpal, Vidhi Sharma, Rudraksh Malik, Aditya Tiwari, Mukul Prajapati, Radha Chaudhary, Arnesha Barura, Ranbir Chaudhary, Arnav Agarwal, Diyati Aggarwal, Jaivardhan Chitkara, Raunit Batra, Veeraaj Ghambhir, Samaira Chauhan, Meha Singh, Arshi Jain, Rehanshi Gupta, Arnav Maskara, Daksh Rathore (Guitar), Arnav Raheja (Piano), Harsh Kirtani (Piano) and Krishnav Singh (Tabla).

After this, the Headmistress, Ms Vinita Gupta welcomed everyone with an eloquent prayer. This was followed by a beautiful Ganesh vandana which was performed by Ranya Singh.The thought for the day was by Mukul Prajapati and Inaya Ali Jan. This was followed by the news  by Vidhi Sharma, Siddharth, Shauryvir Singh Alag and Ishika. Ruhani Gupta recited a beautiful poem ‘MY NATION MY PRIDE’ and Diyati Aggarwal sang a song on the same topic. A beautiful skit about rights and duties was presented by Ishika, Shaarav Vaziraani, Sumit Kumar Rajput, Rishi Sabharwal, Aariv Chauhan, Shauryvir Singh Alag, Kiara Bhandari, Noor Grover, Siddharth, Aman, Aditya Dwivedi, Anshika, Aarav Chopra, Imaad Naiem.

Beautiful shlokas were recited by Ranya Singh and Snehaansh Banerjee. Meanings of the shlokas were translated by Shirali Solanki and Prithvi Madaan. A group dance was performed by Noor Grover, Amayra Valecha, Myrah Saini, Ishita Verma, Shirali Solanki, Kiara Bhandari, Ranya Singh, Apeksha Gupta. Aadya Sharma, Myra Gupta and Riddhika Thakur. This was followed by a melodious and mesmerizing group song by Arnav Agarwal, Diyati Aggarwal, Jaivardhan Chitkara, Raunit Batra, Veeraaj Ghambhir, Samaira Chauhan, Meha Singh, Arshi Jain, Rehanshi Gupta, Arnav Maskara, Veda Chawla, Viraj Mishra, Kiara Chowdhary, Kiara Nagpal, Vidhi Sharma, Rudraksh Malik, Aditya Tiwari, Mukul Prajapati, Ainesh Kumar, Radha Chaudhary, Arnesha Barura, Ranbir Chaudhary.

Aditya Tiwari and Mukul Prajapati decorated the class assembly board beautifully. Shanaya Gupta, Ishita Verma, Apeksha Gupta, Radha Chaudhary worked together on the invitation cards and folders. Comperes for the assembly were Apeksha Gupta, Aadya Sharma, Riddhika Thakur and Inaya Ali Jan. AN EDUCATIONAL TOUR OF RASHTRAPATI BHAVAN MUSEUM

The school organised an educational tour to Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum for Class IX students on 16th, 21st and 23rd December 2022. With the permission and guidance of Principal, Ms. Padma Srinivasan, it was facilitated by the Headmistress, Ms. Rashmi Malhotra.

The excursion was quite enriching as the museum tells the story of the legacy of Indian Presidents and the history of freedom struggle. They got to see various enclaves which exhibit photographs, belongings, gifts and awards of the presidents received over the years. The museum offered students a complete package of art, culture, environment and heritage of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Students showed keen interest as they listened to the museum guide and were fascinated by the artefacts on display and the unique glimpse offered by all the objects and paintings. The tour ended with a technology-supported visitor-interactive story-telling session on the life of Mahatma Gandhi, which touched the heart of the audience. The tour was a great learning experience for the students.

OPEN HOUSE – CLASS IX (2022-23)

Delhi Public School believes that Parents are a very important part of our team and hence it is imperative that we work together to ensure that optimal learning takes place. Keeping this in view, an In-School Open House for the parents of Class IX was organised on 30th July and 8th October, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The parents interacted with the subject teachers on a one to one basis and touched base regarding the performance of their ward in classes. The PTM emphasised on having a meaningful interaction with the subject teachers. Parents were appreciative of the efforts made by school and all the teachers.They were given an opportunity to share suggestions and resolve their queries. It was a successful interaction.

CLASS IX VIRTUAL ORIENTATION PROGRAMME (2022-23)

A Virtual Orientation programme was organised for the parents of class IX students on Friday 29th April 2022.The purpose of the Orientation Programme was to introduce the parents to the respective class teachers and subject teachers as well as to introduce them to the curriculum of the various subjects. 

The Headmistress, Ms Rashmi Malhotra addressed the parents and advised them to ensure that their wards attend all classes regularly and  follow a routine in tough times.She emphasised on the importance of the discipline to be followed while attending classes. The class representatives spoke about the rules and Covid appropriate behaviour, which was followed by the class teachers explaining the code of conduct to the parents. Each subject teacher, thereafter introduced  herself and gave a brief introduction of their subject along with providing information about the text-books to be referred, course content etc, for the same. The session ended with the class teachers thanking the parents for participating enthusiastically in the programme and understanding the ethos of the school.
