INTER DPS – CHARACTER DEFACTO -2nd POSITION

The DPS Society organized the Inter – DPS English Literary Festival 2023, which took place on 3rd November 2023. Students of Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram participated in the festival enthusiastically and showcased their talents. 

Naira Naqshbandi of class VI – F participated in the online event “Brave New World – Character Defacto”. She portrayed the enchanting journey of Dorothy from the fantastical tale of ‘Wizard Of Oz’, as she explores the magical land of Oz with Toto, and secured second position.

INTER-DPS NATIONAL WESTERN VOCAL MUSIC FESTIVAL 2023

DPS Dwarka organized Inter-DPS National Western Vocal Music Festival 2023 under the aegis of The DPS Society on Saturday, 04 November 2023. Mr B. K. Chaturvedi, Chairman, The DPS Society, Mr. V. K. Shunglu, Vice – Chairman, The DPS Society and Ms Madhu Shunglu were the esteemed guests gracing the occasion. 

Total 627 participants from 76 Delhi Public Schools PAN India participated in the preliminary round of this mega event. For the final round, participants from 20 qualifying schools competed for the coveted trophy. Competitions in both categories, Solo Song and Group Song, were judged by a renowned panel of judges. 

In the Solo Song Competition, Inayat Kaur Bajaj bagged the 2nd position and the choir secured 2nd position in the Group Song Competition.

CLASS IX OPEN HOUSE

The Open House for the parents of Class IX was organised on 4 November 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in order to facilitate a fruitful interaction between the parents and the subject teachers. The parents interacted with the subject teachers on a one-to-one basis regarding their ward’s academic performance in the half yearly examination. Parents were appreciative of the efforts and the work done by the class 9 class teachers and the school authorities.

EMERGE 2023 – DRAMATIC MONOLOGUE  – 2nd POSITION

The students of the Expressions Theatre Club of Delhi Public School R.K.Puram participated in “Emerge 2023” organized by Hope Hall Foundation School, R.K.Puram on 3 November 2023. Each student presented a monologue as a character from the spectacular plays written by legendary playwright William Shakespeare. The participants were as follows:

Shobhini Khanna (XI-J) presented a monologue as Ophelia from the play Hamlet (ACT: 2, SCENE: 1)
Shaurya Veer Singh presented a monologue as Iago from the play Othello (ACT: 2, SCENE: 1)
Shaurya Veer Singh successfully secured the 2nd Position in the competition.

3. Parents are requested to be in queue and to cooperate with the security personnel on duty. In
order to avoid traffic congestion, please follow the traffic regulations which will be given by the
security staff on duty.

Assembly VIII-E & VIII-F (31-10-2023)

TOPIC – “NATIONAL UNITY DAY”

“Manpower without unity is not a strength unless it is harmonised and united properly, then it becomes a spiritual power.” – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. With this theme in mind, the students of VIIIE and VIIIF came together on 31st October to celebrate the power of unity through their morning assembly titled Rashtriya Ekta Diwas : The Essence of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The assembly began with a euphonious Ganesh Vandana sung by Aditya, Kiaan, Misha, Naintara, Rudrakshi, Saisha, Sara, Shubham, Shubham L, Vaishavi, Vanshika, Amaira from VIIIE and Aaron, Abhay, Achintya, Aditya, Prithvi, Samar, Shreshta, Tanish Shankar, Tanishq from VIIIF. This was followed by a prayer led by The Headmistress. The headmistress also administered the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ pledge. Akshara, Kshitij, Samaira and Abhiveer were the comperes for the event. A graceful classical Odissi dance recital by Taneesha was performed to welcome the audience. The international, national, sports and weather news for the day was read by Aniket, Rakshit, Mishti and Reyaa. The thought for the day was expressed by Harsh, Manmeet, Parth, Malotra and Reyaa. This was followed by a Talk Show in English on the contribution of Sardar Patel in Integrating the Princely states of India presented by Govind, Vaideesh, Surbhi, Khushi Vijay, Mahikaa Samal and Praaket Soni. The western instrumental orchestra came next on stage consisting of Sanvi Gugnani, Vihaan and Anaisha playing the guitar, Aaira on the drums and Ayaan and Kshtij on the keyboard. This was followed by an informative skit depicting the power of India’s unity enacted by Anaisha, Rajat, Rakshit, Rasmika, Riddhima from VIIIE and Abhiveer, Aditya Goswami, Sampann, Tanish Gulgulia and Vihaan Gupta from VIIIF. Beautiful self composed poems were presented by Khushi, Shrishti, Saanvii, Samaira and Sumair. Last but not the least, the assembly concluded with an amalgamation of instrumental bansuri rendition by Devyansh, Song by Misha, Naintara, Saisha, Sara, Viraj and mesmerising folk dances performed by Anika, Amaira, Anusha, Anvi, Gauri, Lamiya, Mritsha, Parul, Ritika, Rudrakshi from VIIIE and Astha, Ayana, Gauri, Khushi, Naisha, Pradatta, Saanvii, Sairah, Sanvi, Vani from VIIIF. The E-invite was made by Govind. The digital presentation was made by Rajat, Govind, Aniket and Abhiveer. The cards, folders and soft board were designed by Reyaa, Samaira, Amaira, Vanshika, Vaishavi, Ritika , Anika, Rudrakshi , Mahikaa, Khushi Vijay, Mishti, Naisha, Saanvii, Sairah, and Sanvi S.

‘Code’ was organized by the Apeejay School Noida in October 2023. Students of DPS R.K.PURAM participated in the following events from the Digital Excellence Society-Photography and Filmmaking society (DIGEX) of DPS R.K.Puram and bagged the first position. The winners were Sonakshi Segal  and Vihaan Segal

Event- Frame Fusion 

Apeejay School Noida challenged the students of various schools to make a short film on the concept of the time loop paradox through their competition ‘Frame Fusion’. 

Galaxia 2023 : ‘Banjare’ Street Play  – Consolation Position

The students of the Expressions theater club of Delhi Public School R.K Puram participated in “GALAXIA”- Nukkad Natak (Banjare) 2023 organized by Bal Bhavan Public School, Mayur Vihar on 31 October 2023. They were mentored by the teacher incharge Ms. Sanya Taneja. The students presented a thought provoking play on the theme “ नशे के दुष्प्रभाव” putting their views across on the prominent ill effects of alcoholism and its disastrous after-effects on the youth. The team secured the consolation position. The participants were as follows:

GALAXIA 2023 – ACTALONE : THE MONO ACT – Ist POSITION

Anika Goel(X-C) of the Expressions Theatre club of Delhi Public School R.K Puram participated in Galaxia 2023-Actalone: “The Mono Act” organized by Bal Bhawan Public School, Mayur Vihar on 31 October 2023. She was guided by the teacher incharge Ms. Sanya Taneja. The student presented a thought provoking monologue on the theme “Equality and Inclusivity” by putting across her views on gender inequality and lack of inclusivity in a corporate setting, through the character of a journalist. The student successfully covered all aspects of the topic provided and secured the First position.

Online Training on “Social Media and Cyber Security”

NEP 2020 prioritizes the integration of cyber safety education into educational programs, aiming to enhance awareness and provide students with the necessary digital literacy skills for secure internet navigation. In this age of unprecedented digital evolution, nurturing awareness regarding Social Media and Cybersecurity is imperative for our technology-driven society. Cybersecurity promotes a sustainable and harmonious coexistence between humanity and technology, ensuring a brighter and more balanced future.

For students, it instills responsible online behavior, ensuring they understand the risks and potential consequences of their actions on social media. It equips them with vital cybersecurity knowledge to protect themselves from digital threats. For teachers, this training allows them to guide students in safe and ethical internet usage while also securing their own digital presence. In an age where online interactions are integral to education and life, this training is essential for fostering a secure, informed, and responsible digital community within schools.

As part of the online training series on ‘ Cyber Safety and Security’, for the month of November, CIET-NCERT in collaboration with National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) is organising a five-hours online training on “Social Media and Cyber Security” from 30 October – 3 November, 2023 from 4:00 pm5:00 pm to enhance the understanding of teachers, students, teacher educators, and various stakeholders. The online training will be live on NCERT official YouTube Channel-

AN EDUCATIONAL TOUR OF RASHTRAPATI BHAVAN MUSEUM (CLASS IX)

The school organized an educational tour to Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum for Class IX students from 25th October 2023 to 10th November 2023. With the permission and guidance of Principal, Ms. Padma Srinivasan, it was facilitated by the Headmistress, Ms. Rashmi Malhotra.

The excursion was quite enriching as the museum tells the story of the legacy of Indian Presidents and the history of freedom struggle. They got to see various enclaves which exhibit photographs, belongings, gifts and awards of the presidents received over the years. The museum offered students a complete package of art, culture, environment and heritage of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Students showed keen interest as they listened to the museum guide and were fascinated by the artifacts on display and the unique glimpse offered by all the objects and paintings. The tour ended with a technology-supported visitor-interactive story-telling session on the life of Mahatma Gandhi, which touched the heart of the audience. The tour was a great learning experience for the students.
