TOPIC: “IF DPS WALLS COULD TALK: DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE SCHOOL ‘SPEAK’ ABOUT THEIR HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE”

“If school walls could speak, they’d echo with glory,

Tales of dreams turned into legacy and story.”

On Tuesday, the 22nd of April 2025, the students of classes VIII-A and VIII-B presented a captivating assembly on the topic “IF THE WALLS OF DPS COULD TALK”, highlighting the glorious legacy of our school. Just as every note in a symphony creates a masterpiece ,every achievement in this school has amplified its excellence.

The assembly commenced with a soulful morning prayer led by Jairaj Singh, Kasni, Vartika Pandey, Prakhar Pandey, Shubhi, Hardik, Shiven Vij, Deepraj, Chhavi, Aarna Akhilesh, Avantika, Md.Ayaan, Ansh Garg, Anmol Singh, Aaradhya, Bhavya, Devanshi, Gulshan, Ritwi, Vivaan Ranjan, Afia, Yuvraj, Sushant and Kartikay. Then the Principal, Mr.Anil Kumar welcomed everyone and led them through the morning prayer. Thereafter, an enthralling theatrical presentation was performed which was a tribute to the legacy of our school and was enacted by Aakarsh, Ananya.S, Avni, Atharv, Ayana, Arshi, Charvy, Darshika, Deekshant, Elisabeth , Kaustav, Kanav, Md.Asad, Nandini, Pallavi, Vihaan Sharma , Aarav, Ashman, Kartikay, Krishaang, Rujul, Vikalp, Vivaan Kumar, Yesha, Anya, Manav, Vartika, Trijal, Veer, Shanaya, Nirmaan beautifully celebrating the spirit of our school—its rich heritage, enduring ethos, and the history which was reflected by each wall.” The energy of the stage was taken a notch higher by Aarav Tripathi, Yuvraj Grover with their guitar and Paras with his flute. It was followed by beautiful self composed poems by Aakarsh, Arshi, Darshika, Pallavi, Nirmaan, and Shanaya, thereby adding depth and creativity to the performance. The insightful thought for the day was given in Sanskrit by Suryansh and Aavika. Then, the western choir sang a wonderful song sung by Bhavya, Devanshi, Elisabeth, Nandini, Kanav, Nirmaan, Yesha, Tanuja, Shanaya, Vartika, Avni, Josheka adding a melodious touch to the assembly.

The comperes for the assembly were Avatara Khandhari, Ayush Pandey, Ritwi, Amaira Ahluwalia, Elisabeth Joseph, Azhaan, Arjun Rana and Trijal Dutt. The Vote of thanks was proposed by Elisabeth Joseph, Inayaa Jain and Avantika Wadhwa.The folders, handmade invite and the board for the assembly were made and designed by Darshika, Aarna, Ritwi, Gurnoor, Ananya Singh, Pallavi, Devanshi, Afia, Navya, Aavika, Arshi, Apoorva, Vivaan Ranjan, Md Asad and Yesha Gaur. The exquisite e-invite was designed by Ansh Garg. The digital presentation was curated by Tanuja Joshi. The Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar highlighted that the true legacy of the school lies not just in its achievements, but in the values it lives by—integrity, excellence, respect, and responsibility. The assembly powerfully conveyed that at DPS R.K. Puram, where excellence is cultivated with dedication, a legacy of greatness continues to endure. The assembly concluded with the uplifting school anthem followed by the national anthem.

Arthashastra & Confest 2025

Students of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram participated in Arthashastra & Confest 2025, the annual Commerce, Economics and Consumerism festival hosted by Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj on May 20, 2025. A wide array of events were organized including Venture Renascita, Traders Turf, ComQuest, Ecoनोवाद, Skitopia, Consumer Couture and Comic Crusaders.

With over a decade of legacy, this year’s edition of Arthashastra returned bigger and more dynamic, offering a platform for young changemakers to engage in real-world simulations, share ideas, and showcase their talents across domains like entrepreneurship, public policy, finance, sustainability, and consumer rights.

Participants from DPS R.K. Puram competed in a wide range of events and brought home three prestigious awards, reflecting their deep insight, creativity, and sharp analytical skills:

  • Ecoनोवाद (Economics Debate) – Best Speaker Award
  • Consumer Couture (Sustainable Fashion Event) – 1st Prize

The students of classes VIIIC AND VIIID cherished the memories of different timelines in DPS R K PURAM.The assembly commenced with a morning prayer by Aadhya Rajhans, Aaradhya Bhutani, Abhinav Sharma, M. Ayaan, Agambir Singh Chandhok, Anidhya Agarwal, Avya Sikka, Ayaan Singhal, Daiwik Goyal, Dhriti, Jaskaran Singh Sethi, Kabir Chopra, Mahima, M. The news headlines for the day were read by Khush Kirar, Manvik Sachdeva, Jastej Singh Bakshi and Megha Kumari. The self- composed poem was recited by Siddhi Rawat, Riyaan Jain and Dhruv Sikka.

Thereafter speeches were given by Shiv Chandrayan and Rishabh. The Skit was performed by Arshia Batheja, Gauri Gupta, Krishika Jayara, Aanya Kumbhat, Abhinav Sharma, Trisha Srivastava, Hridaan Bose, Faizah Hilal Rather, Agastya Malik, Tanish Dahiya, Reyansh Singal and Samaira Bhatia. The melodious song was sung by Aashman Arora, Anushka Bisht, Atharva Puri, Dhanishka, Himanya Garg, Krisha Khurana, Vanya Adhikari, Kiyan Arora, Saksham Dhingra, Aarav Panami, Gunagya Sain, Gauransh Sain, Vidita Tiwari, Manvik Sachdeva, Jiggisha Barua, Aaradhya Bhutani,Abhinav Sharma, Agarmbir Singh Chandhok, Ananya, Anidhya Agarwal, Avya Sikka, Ayaan Singhal, Daiwik Goyal, Kabir Chopra, Mahima, Myrah Chopra, Palak, Ritvik Rudr, Ruchika, Siddhi Rawat. The Group Dance was showcased by Aaradhya Agarwal, Kashish Arora, Priya Thapa, Vaishnavi Thakur, Aadhya Rajhans, Aanya Kumbhat, Aaradhya Bhutani, Ananya, Dhriti, Megha.

The Vote of thanks was proposed by Arshia Batheja. Folders, bouquet, e-invite, and digital presentation were done by Siddhi Rawat, Prayash Choudhury, Faizah, Samanyu Agarwal, Jastej Singh Bakshi, Aadhya Rajhans, Aaradhya Bhutani, Dhriti, Krishika Jayara, Samaira Bhatia, Manvik Sachdeva, Jiggisha Barua, Riddhima Dalal, Viraj Srivastava. The Vice Principal Mr. Anil Kathuria appreciated the hard work put in  by the students in presenting the assembly. He also highlighted the legacy carried by DPS RKP.

CLASS IX OPEN HOUSE (2025-26)

The Open House for the parents of Class IX was organised on 12th July 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in order to facilitate a fruitful interaction between the parents and the subject teachers. The parents interacted with the subject teachers on a one-to-one basis regarding their ward’s academic performance in the half yearly examination. Parents were appreciative of the efforts and the work done by the class 9 class teachers and the school authorities.

DPS RK PURAM STUDENTS VISIT THE AICTE IDEA LAB AND ATAL INCUBATION CENTRE – GGSIPU

Fifty students from Classes IX to XI visited the AICTE IDEA Lab and Atal Incubation Centre at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Dwarka on July 11, 2025. The visit was an initiative to provide students with first-hand exposure to real-world innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship.At the IDEA Lab, students explored various tools and technologies used in prototyping and product development, including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and embedded systems. They also viewed working prototypes created by university students, ranging from smart irrigation systems to drone-based pollution monitors.

At the Atal Incubation Centre, students gained insights into how startups are nurtured—from ideation and business modelling to prototyping and funding. They were introduced to programmes like ASPIRE, SPARK, and IGNITE that support young entrepreneurs at various stages of innovation.

The visit sparked curiosity, encouraged creative thinking, and gave students a clearer understanding of how ideas can evolve into impactful solutions. Interacting with innovators and seeing real applications of technology inspired many to think beyond textbooks and imagine their own journeys in the fields of science, technology, and entrepreneurship. The children were accompanied by Ms Taruna Kapoor and Ms Preeti Jagota and the visit was  organised by: SPARK LAB & The InnoPreneurs Club

It  was a meaningful and memorable learning experience that will resonate with the students for years to come.

OPEN HOUSE FOR CLASS XII

The Open House for the parents of class XII students was held on 24th May 2025 as per the following schedule.

An email was sent on the official email id of the students regarding the schedule of the PTM. Students were also allowed to accompany their parents for the same. Wardens took feedback about the hostellers from the respective subject teachers and further informed the parents about the same. A few hostellers’ parents also attended the PTM. Parents interacted with the foreign admission counsellor as well and were updated about the deadlines for the same. Parents were counselled to send their children regularly to School and also to take all weekly tests regularly. They were made aware of the attendance of their wards. The parents were satisfied with the extra support material being shared in the google classrooms.The session was fruitful, constructive, productive and gainful.

ROBOKNIGHTS AND EXUN MEMBERS EMERGE WINNERS

Roboknights and Exun members participated and won laurels for the school.Naitik Jindal X-J and Aryamman Ojha  X-N participated in the “Robowar” sub event and Vihaan Pundir  IX-M  participated in the “WebD” sub event of Code 2025 organised by Apeejay School, Noida on Thursday, 1st May 2025  and won the  2nd position.

Naitik Jindal X-J and  Kyraan Katyal X-K  participated in the Robo Race  sub event of Ordin@triXKuriobots 25.0 organised by  Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar on  Tuesday, 6 May 2025 and won First position.

THE INTERNATIONAL HIMALAYAN PEACE AWARD 2024

The International Himalayan Peace Award 2024 was presented to Dr. Anang Jai Saxena, a senior Hindi teacher at Delhi Public School, RK Puram, on August 29, 2024, in Pokhara, Nepal. The award ceremony was organized by the Indo-Nepal Relationship & Peace Foundation.

Dr. Saxena was honoured for his dedication to education and society and his outstanding services were recognized with the prestigious award. The award was presented by Shukra Raj Sharma, President of the Nepal Congress, in the presence of the Indian Ambassador to Nepal and several dignitaries from the Nepal Government.

The award ceremony was jointly organized by the Deendayal Upadhyay Foundation and Integrated Global University. On this occasion, Dr. Saxena expressed his views on the role of an ideal teacher in society.

RAZZMATAZZ

Amity International School, Pushp Vihar hosted RAZZMATAZZ – The Inter-School Competition on 29 July 2025. The event brought together enthusiastic participants from various schools, showcasing creativity, teamwork, and stage presence.

The team from Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram participated in the Western Group Song Category and delivered a vibrant and well-coordinated performance. Their presentation was widely appreciated by the judges and audience alike, earning them the 2nd Position.

The competition provided students with a platform to explore their artistic abilities and gain enriching performance experience.

Assembly XI-S & XI-T (29-07-2025)

TOPIC: “LEGACY OF HUMAN INTELLECT AT DPS RKP”

On the morning of July 29th, 2025, students of class XI-T and XI-S came together for a lively assembly centered around the theme of “Nostalgia: Taking You Back in Time”. This theme encapsulates the feeling of rekindling the past with gratitude.

The assembly began with a soulful prayer, ‘Jivan Tumne Diya Hai’ sung by Diya, Mahi, Aashna, Riya, Varnika, Khushbu, Mehana, Baarika, Samriddhi Kashyap, Samriddhi Bhatia, Rudrankshi, Wageesha, Yana, Vaadini, and Ishaanvi. Tanvi presented a profound instrumental piece, ‘Chanakya’, with accompanying vocals by Diya and Sambriddhi Bhatia. The classical dance was a performance that combined Kuchipudi and Kathak, presented by Rudrankshi, Mitravinda, Wamiel, Kyna and Amrisha. Diya, Kanishka, Anvehsa, Jai, Anusha, Vaishnavi, Shaurya, Naman, Baarika, Pia, Yana, Mehana, and Arushi presented a mood-capturing play on “The Buzzin’ Buzzers Show”, which took a trip down memory lane. As the play commenced, Diya, Jai, Naman and Kanishka relayed the News for the day. After presenting the memories of our famous alumni, Mehana recited a soul-captivating poem. It was followed by the performance of the western choir, consisting of Lalnuntluanga, Mahi, Aashna, Riya, Ananya, Diya, Samriddhi Bhatia, Baarika, Siya, Yana, Amaira, Samriddhi Kashyap, Rudrankshi, Mehana, Naman, Vadini, Jyoti, and Lavanya. Before the play ended, we witnessed a dynamic western dance performed by Diya, Sahil, Palak, Aadya, Chayanika, Aarohi, and Sharwani.

The compering was done by Amaira, Siya, Samriddhi Bhatia, Rudrankshi, Amrisha, Advait, Vaishnavi, Kanishka, Bhavya, and Ananya. The enchanting and sentimental visual elements, including the board artwork, invitation cards, e-invite, and the Digital Presentation, were done by Agrima, Akriti, Hitakshi, Eemonganbi, Niva, Vivek, Aanchal, Tanvi, Bhavya, Pia, and Samriddhi Bhatia. The assembly evoked a sense of nostalgia, leaving us reminiscing about our past.

INTER-SCHOOL COMPETITION

Amity International School, Mayur Vihar hosted CRESCENDO – The Inter-School Music Competition on 25 July 2025. Participants competed across multiple categories, showcasing musicality, expression, and teamwork. In the Group Song Category, the choir of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram delivered a melodious and well-coordinated performance, earning the 2nd Position.

In the Solo Category, Harnoor Sachdeva of XI J impressed the judges with a soulful rendition and secured the 2nd Position, adding to the school’s achievements at the event. In addition to the above, DPS R.K. Puram was also declared the Overall Winner and awarded with a trophy.
