The staff and students of Delhi Public School,R.K Puram undertook various activities for creating awareness about Saving Water under the government campaign called JAL SHAKTI.
The secondary and senior secondary students of the Theatre Club- Expressions gave a performance during break time to raise awareness about the importance of Jal Shakti and depicted the problems that people are facing due to water crisis. Also, problems arising due to drought and floods were portrayed in the play.
The Art Department encouraged students to give wings to their imagination by depicting the importance of Jal Shakti in their paintings. During the work education periods students were sensitized about the need for water conservation and were asked to put their thoughts in the form of a painting.
The Environment &I Club of the school undertook a Plantation Drive which was to create awareness about the importance of trees and plants in the natural conservation of water. The students of Classes VI-VIII participated in the drive. The Club has prepared handout, banner and material for the school’s display T.V to create mass awareness.
The Jal Shakti Abhiyan will be an ongoing effort of DPS,R.K Puram as awareness will be created through messages in the Morning assembly, Home Room Period, Class Discussions and Work Education Period.
