On 29 July 2026, the students of the CyberX Club of DPS R.K. Puram embarked on a memorable and enriching educational visit to the CyberPeace Foundation Centre of Excellence, located within the premises of the United Service Institution of India (USI), Delhi Cantt. The visit provided students with a unique opportunity to witness how technology, research, and innovation are being leveraged to build a safer digital ecosystem.
The programme commenced with an inspiring address by Col. Vikram Kapoor, who introduced students to the vision and mission of the CyberPeace Foundation and its role in strengthening national cyber resilience through digital diplomacy, capacity building, and ethical cyber practices. His engaging and interactive session simplified complex cybersecurity concepts, encouraging students to actively participate and seek clarifications.
This was followed by an insightful session by Mr Naman Shridhar, who introduced the First Responders Programme and demonstrated how cybersecurity professionals investigate digital threats using specialised tools and research methodologies. Students gained valuable insights into threat detection, cyber incident response, and the significance of community preparedness in mitigating cyber risks.
A major highlight of the visit was the interaction with Maj. Vineet Kumar, Founder of the CyberPeace Foundation. He shared his vision of fostering collaboration among academia, industry, and government to create a secure digital future. He encouraged students to participate in hackathons, research initiatives, and innovation challenges, inspiring them to contribute meaningfully to the field of cybersecurity.
During the guided tour of the Centre of Excellence, students explored several cutting-edge projects developed by young researchers under expert mentorship. These included AI-based anomaly detection in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Secure DNS solutions, and Linux Administration and Security. The visit offered students first-hand exposure to the practical applications of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies in cybersecurity.
The Digital Forensics Laboratory proved to be the most fascinating part of the visit. Experts demonstrated the First Responder Kit, explaining the purpose and application of each forensic tool used in evidence collection and cyber investigations. Students observed live demonstrations of advanced forensic software for data recovery, digital evidence analysis, and network mapping, gaining an appreciation of how forensic experts investigate cybercrimes while preserving the integrity of digital evidence. The highly interactive session encouraged students to ask questions and explore the investigative process in depth.
The programme concluded with an engaging career guidance session by Shri M.A.K.P. Singh from IIT Kanpur, who interacted with students on emerging opportunities in cybersecurity, higher education pathways, and the skills required to build successful careers in this rapidly evolving domain.
Before the conclusion of the visit, the CyberPeace Foundation team expressed their appreciation to Ms Sarika Kaushal, Teacher In-charge of the CyberX Club, for initiating and facilitating this educational collaboration. The students also conveyed their heartfelt gratitude for providing them with this invaluable learning opportunity. As a thoughtful gesture, the CyberPeace Foundation presented laptop bags to all members of the visiting delegation.
The visit was an inspiring blend of knowledge, innovation, and hands-on learning, enabling students to connect classroom concepts with real-world cybersecurity practices. It reinforced the CyberX Club’s commitment to nurturing informed, responsible, and future-ready digital citizens while strengthening the collaboration between DPS R.K.
