The Think Club of Delhi Public School, RK Puram organised a Guest Speaker Programme on 20th November 2021 for classes IX & XI, the second in its series “Learning from the Best.” The programme was hosted with the aim of providing the students with the opportunity to interact with and learn from the experiences of the accomplished graduates of the school.
The respected Principal Ms. Padma Srinivasan, the honourable Vice Principals Mr. Naresh Miglani and Mr. Anil Kumar Kathuria, class representatives, teachers, and students of classes IX and XI attended the programme.
Learning from the Best #2 featured Mr. Anant Lunia, from the batch of 2021. He achieved All India Rank 3 in JEE Advanced 2021, and has taken admission in IIT Delhi with the plans to pursue undergraduate studies in Computer Science and Engineering. Anant’s illustrious endeavours have been a constant during his time in the school- he is a JSTSE scholar, an NTSE scholar, and a national topper of KVPY with AIR-18 in the SA Stream and AIR-2 in the SX stream. He was a part of the two-member winning team of Technothlon 2018, which won a Gold Medal and a grand prize to visit NASA, USA. He has also scored high international ranks in several Indian and International Olympiads and competitions.
The compere, Sahana Agarwal, enthusiastically welcomed the audience and the Guest Speaker, and presented him with a virtual token of appreciation. This was followed by the honourable Principal Ms. Padma Srinivasan’s address to the gathering, in which she expressed her gratitude to Mr. Anant Lunia for being there as a mentor to the aspiring students of classes IX and XI, and congratulated him on his success. She concluded her address with inspiring words to the students to achieve great heights.
The Question and Answer session was conducted by Divyansh Nayan and Mannat Kaur. Students, as well as teachers, asked their questions regarding the examination and its preparation process, to which Mr. Anant Lunia gave elaborate and patient responses. He emphasised on the importance of perseverance and consistency, while also being sure to take care of one’s health during the preparation of one of the toughest entrance exams in India. He also recommended study techniques, revision tricks and books to help the budding students follow in his footsteps.
The session was concluded by Sneha Chandra, which was followed by the Vote of Thanks by the Respected Vice Principal Mr. Naresh Miglani. The event was organised by Ms. Shelly Malhotra and Ms. Archna Deepak, with technical support from Mr. Mukesh Kumar and his team.
