A Disaster Management Mock Evacuation Drill was conducted on 7th April, 2026 for students of Classes VI to XII within the school premises. The drill was organized under the able guidance of the Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar, and carried out with the coordinated efforts of Vice Principals, Headmistress and Incharge (VI-VIII), Class Representatives, teachers, security personnel, and support staff.
The objective of the drill was to acquaint students and staff with emergency evacuation procedures, exit routes, and safe assembly practices in case of any hostile situation.
The attendance of class VI – XII for the drill was 3547/4384.The total staff attendance was 376 out of 417, including teaching, administrative, hostel, estate, transport, security, and housekeeping staff.
The drill commenced with the hooter alarm, following which students were evacuated in a disciplined and orderly manner under the supervision of teachers. They proceeded through designated exit routes and assembled at their respective open assembly points as per the colour-coded evacuation plan. The entire evacuation process was completed in approximately 9 minutes.
A headcount was conducted at the assembly area to ensure the safety and accountability of all students. After the successful completion of the drill, students returned to their classrooms in an organized manner following official announcements. They were also briefed about the evacuation routes and safety measures to be followed during an actual emergency.
The drill was conducted in strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the Directorate of Education (DOE). A post-drill debriefing session was held to evaluate the effectiveness of the exercise and to identify areas requiring improvement.
The drill was efficiently coordinated by the Disaster Management Coordinator, Ms. Sangita Bajpai.
The mock evacuation drill was conducted successfully and fulfilled its objective of enhancing preparedness and awareness among students and staff. With the suggested improvements, future drills can be made more efficient and impactful.
