A demo was organized for the Biotechnology students of Class XII on 20 October 2016 in the Biotechnology Lab to know more about the techniques used in this field. Dr. Tripti Bhatnagar from Codon Biotech gave the demo of Restriction Digestion of DNA, bacterial transformation and Plasmid isolation from E.coli. Agarose gel electrophoresis was performed later and the students visualized DNA using transilluminator. The students learnt how to identify a recombinant bacterial colony by Insertional inactivation technique. It was an amazing experience for the students when they isolated DNA from bacteria. The demo was organized by Ms Niva Chhonkar, the Biology Coordinator.
