In a proud moment for the country and for DPS R.K. Puram, the Principal, Dr. D.R.Saini was conferred with the prestigious ‘Ambassador of Peace’ Award on 4th of January during the celebrations of the United Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week 2014, “Interfaith Harmony for Peace Building and Good Governance”. In a special function organized at the UN Conference Hall in Delhi, the Award was presented to Dr. Saini amidst an august audience comprising the Hon’ble Member of Parliament – Rajya Sabha, Dr. Karan Singh, the Chief Guest at the function; and the Guest of Honour, the President of UPF-International, Dr.Thomas G.Walsh. The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) is a global network of individuals and organizations dedicated to building a world of peace centered on universal, spiritual and moral values. Launched in 2001, Ambassadors for Peace is the largest and most diverse network of peace leaders. They come from all walks of life representing many races, religions, nationalities, and cultures, committed to promoting reconciliation, overcoming barriers, and encouraging cooperation beyond traditional boundaries of religion, race, ethnicity, and nationality. UPF and its network of Ambassadors for Peace celebrate World Interfaith Harmony Week each year, calling on people of faith for the well-being of communities and peace in the world. For a school that promotes excellence in education and a global outlook, this award to Dr.Saini is a reflection of the school’s constant endeavour to promote harmonious and holistic development of its students. |
