Carnival 2018

Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram hosted its Annual Winter Carnival on 29 November 2018. It is the most anticipated event of the year. Clad in casuals, the students ensured a harmony between glutting on mouth-watering treats at the various food stalls as well as showing their talent in various fields.

The event began at the Assembly Stage with the Principal, Ms Vanita Sehgal, releasing helium-filled balloons to the loud cheers of the students, and announcing the formal commencement of the programme. This was followed by renditions of various Pop and Rock Culture classics and musical performances by the School Band, after which the DJ’s took over the stage.

The Football Field was adorned with balloons and streamers, lending a festive aura. The Talent Show, for the purpose of which a special stage was constructed, consisted of events like Rubik’s Cube, Sudoku, Acting, Mimicry, Singing, Beat Boxing and Dancing for which the faculty members acted as judges. There were many stalls, for both food and games. Teachers took charge of the game stalls, with Scrabble, Calligraphy, Ball the Glasses, Guess the Number, Beads and Names, Wire Art, Nail Art, being the cynosure of all eyes.
The staple stalls like Photo Booth, Photography & Mug Prints, along with the Painting and Games Stalls by the respective departments did extremely well.

There were surprise events anchored by Ms. Alinda Holla and  Ms. Shelly Malhotra. An Aerobics performance by a few trained students and a Flash Mob presented by the Western Dance Society, elicited praise from the spectators.

It was a special occasion for the students as the Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal, Vice Principals, Dr. Renu Nayar, Ms. Padma Srinivasan, Ms. Anita Singh and the Headmistress, Ms. Rashmi Malhotra, joined in the revelry. It was a memorable and nostalgic time for the twelfth grade students as it was their last carnival, and they made memories amongst an emotionally charged atmosphere.

The credits for the amazing day go to the hardworking administration who made sure the students had a wonderful time.
