SECOND PRIZE MOD DEBATE

Modern School Vasant Vihar organised MOD DEBATE on 25 July 2023. The debate was organised for both junior and senior categories. The Asian Parliamentary Debate was conducted in the senior category. DPS RK PURAM bagged the second position. The students of classes IX – X  contested for a Conventional Debate and bagged Second and Third Best Speaker Prizes. DPS RK PURAM was awarded the overall trophy for this event.

‘REMEMBER ME: The Cries of a Teenage Mind’ – An anthology of poems and stories by GURMANI KAUR, XII-S 

Gurmani Kaur officially launched her debut book ‘Remember Me – The cries of a Teenage Mind’ which gained recognition on a national platform. It is an anthology of reflective art, poems and stories blended with the human psyche to bring light to the emotional turmoil and perceptions of adolescent minds, leading to maturity. With her lilting imagery and mastery of words Gurmani manages to engross the reader in her journey. The self designed illustrious cover puppeteers her emotions starring her creations on mere chalk base by crafting and carving unique mementoes to produce soulful ripple. The book is a perfect blend of ART and LITERATURE, endorsed by eminent personalities.

Assembly XII-P & XII-Q (18-07-2023)

TOPIC – “MAY YOUR CHOICES REFLECT YOUR HOPES, NOT YOUR FEARS”

On Tuesday, the 18th of May 2023, the students of classes XII-P and XII-Q presented their class assembly on the topic – ‘May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.’

Celebrating the spirit of Nelson Mandela, this simple yet profound message encapsulates the essence of living a life driven by courage, resilience, and the unwavering pursuit of dreams.

The assembly commenced with a melodious prayer “Hey sharde maa” sung by Saanvi Pandey, Siya Mahajan, Rijak Deep Singh, Jai Upneja, Mohit Singh, Shivram, Parth Kurra ,Srivatsala Krishna, Sagar Dhyani, Pranay Bedi Verma, Veer Bansal, Aryan Garg, Nishnaat Aggarwal, Snigdha Singh and Pratham Tokas. This was followed by a classical dance performance by Aadya Mishra and Anshika Sinha. 

The news was presented by Shlok, Shaurya, Akul, Saksham and Satvik, and the thoughts for the day by Sanah, Advait, Harshit and Anisha. Next, was a musical bringing laughter, raising awareness and provoking thought was performed by Kaashvi Goel, Vidur Nanda, Maanvi Singhania, Siya Mahajan, Sanskriti Arora, Bhavya Middha, Ananya Thatai, Abhyuday Vadehra, Kashvi Chona, Rohan Chugh and Pranay Bedi Verma. The soulful western choir by Aryan Garg, Veer Bansal, Pranay Bedi Verma, Sagar Dhyani, Snigdha, Srivatsala Krishna, Pratham Tokas, Nishnaat Aggarwal, Saranya Modi, Tisya Gupta, Pavni Tuli, Kashvi Chona, Rohan Chugh Saanvi Pandey, Siya Mahajan, Rijak Deep Singh, Shivram, Tashvi Gupta, Chaitanya Jain, Dia Kumar, Bhavya Middha, Kaashvi Goel and Maanvi Singhania sang “Fight Song”. 

Shiven Gupta, Samaira Gupta and Kashvi Arora expressed their views on the topic, followed by a mesmerizing dance performance on the song “Apna har din” by Abhyuday Vadehra, Nandini Gandhi, Kashvi Chona, Sanskriti Arora, Maanvi Singhania, Dia Kumar, Bhavya Middha, Khushali Sethi, Tashvi Gupta and Parth Kurra. Next performance was a poem recited by Nilay Jain. Lastly, the assembly concluded with a rap performance by Rijak. 

The comperes were Paavani Deo, Anirudh Goel, Raj Aggarwal, Suhana Kashyap, Aadya Gupta and Kush Mehra. The soft board, invitations, and folders were made by the art team comprising of Shlok Passari, Raj Aggarwal, Samrath Arora Majoka, Kishiv Gupta, Siya Mahajan, Saanvi Pandey and Maanvi Singhania. The digital presentation was made by Ishaan Jain and Veer Bansal.

Resumption of School Bus Service on All Routes

All the concerned Students & Staff Members,
DPS R.K. Puram, East of Kailash & Vasant Vihar.

In supersession of the previous Office Order dated 16.07.2023 regarding school bus not plying on certain flood affected areas of Delhi as per the directions issued by DOE vide Order dated 16.07.2023, keeping in view of the present situation it is decided to resume the school bus service on all the routes of DPS RK Puram and DPS Vasant Vihar w.e.f Tuesday, 18th July 2023.

However, DPS East of Kailash will remain closed for all the students on 18th July 2023 and the classes will be held through Online mode only. The teachers shall take classes from their home.

All concerned are informed to make a note of the above accordingly.

Monday Test Rescheduling

On Monday 17 July, 2023 DPS RKPURAM will follow the Wednesday timetable. And on Wednesday, 19 July, 2023, the Monday timetable will be followed. Also the Monday test scheduled on 17 July will be held on 19 July.

Assembly IX-C & IX-D (13-07-2023)

Topic: “THE RHYTHM OF MONSOON”

The school assembly on the theme “The Rhythm of Monsoon” was presented by the enthusiastic students of Class IXC and IXD. The assembly aimed to celebrate and explore the beauty and significance of the monsoon season.

The assembly began with a soulful Morning Prayer, sung by Shaurya, Harshul, Mayank, Dhruv K, Himanshu, Aishwarya, Manisha, Divya, Anshika, Vrinda, Humza, Lakshman, Vanshika, Purvi, Manasa, Hemant, Ridhaan, Luvish, Aryan, Arihant, Shaurya, Aishwarya, and Dhruv, setting a serene atmosphere. Purvi mesmerized the audience with a captivating rendition of the Shiva Tandav, adding a devotional touch to the assembly. The latest news updates were presented by Vajra, Meer, Pragyan, and Naitik, keeping everyone informed about current events and happenings. Shaurya, Prabhansh, Aniruddh, and Divyam shared insightful and thought-provoking “Thoughts for the day,” inspiring the audience with their wisdom and positivity. Aashi and Roshan recited a beautiful Shloka, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and spirituality associated with the monsoon season. 

Anika and Devansh presented a heartfelt poem, capturing the essence of monsoon’s beauty, its impact on nature, and the emotions it evokes. The stage came alive with a captivating Western choir performance by Ryaan, Aashi, Vinayak, Nandika, Aarav, Jasmeet, Manasa, Anika, Anshima, Vanya, Falguni, Anchal, Anushka, Kuhu, UdayVeer, Amit, and Devika. Their harmonious voices resonated with the spirit of the monsoon.

A skit was enacted by Shaurya, Ryaan, Aayush S, Dhruv C, Anshima, Shreeansh, Vidhan, and Jasmeet, which showcased the joy, struggles, and celebrations associated with the monsoon season. The performance left the audience entertained and enlightened. The compering was efficiently handled by Shashwat, Nandika, and T Manasa, who guided the audience through the various segments of the assembly.

Assembly XII-I & XII-J (12-07-2023)

TOPIC – “ONE DAY OR DAY ONE”

We all speak of a better future as something that we highly anticipate. The “better tomorrow” that we patiently await. We speak of where we see ourselves in one, five or ten years. We make plans. We have goals. But how many of us can really say that they are working towards this better future?

The class presentation commenced by invoking the name of God through the prayer -“Jeevan Tumne Diya Hai, Sambhaloge Tum” performed by Sneha Pandey, Kanishka Verma, Aditya Prakash Singh, Khushal Bajaj, Divyalaksh Baisoya, Manishka Asrani, Krishal Sharma, Nazia Amin, Kashvi Aggarwal, Saumya Srivastava, Adit Verma, Tanya, Nikita, and Prithvi Raghu.

Following the prayer Kanishka Verma, Arth Agarwal, Aboli Arora, Vaibhav, Krishal Sharma, Ujjwal Tiwari, Gaurav, Aryan Kumar, Shubhag Tripathi, Tejas Agarwal, Aryan Gupta, Reejoul Sharma, Chinmay Sharma and Nikita performed a skit which was inspired by the legends of Mahabharat and Ramayana with an outlook inculcating the characters as thoughts of our own. Within the skit, Nazia Amin, Kashvi Aggarwal and Saumya Srivastava performed the Shiva Vandana, the Thought for the day was presented by Shivesht Sharma and Vishal Balaji followed by the News by Gaurav, Madhav Gupta, Smriti Srivastava and Aviral Varshney. The rap was performed by Kushagara Goel and the melodious instrumental performance was given by Jia Vohra and Akshit Bakshi. The skit ended with speeches by Ananya Negi, Tanya, Divyalaksh Baisoya and Akshatt Chauhan.

After the skit, the western choir consisting of Adit Verma, Kashvi Aggarwal, Tanya, Nazia Amin, Krishal Sharma, Kushagra Goel, Chinmay Sharma, Aahant Kumar, Manishka Asrani, Kanishka Verma, Khushal Bajaj, Divyalaksh Baisoya and Saumya Srivastava sang the song “Firework” and gave a powerful and mesmerising performance. After that, Chinmaya performed a self-composed poem on procrastination titled “Jo Vakt Kho Jaye “.

The comperes were Nethra Lawania, Aditya Tiwari and Samaira Mohapatra. The eye-catching board artwork was made by Tanya, Manvi Segan, Pearl Wadhwa, Amya Rastogi and Aarushi Chandak. The beautiful invites and folders were made by Kashvi Aggarwal, Smriti Srivastava and Soumya Singh and the entire presentation and E-invites were made by Garv Jain and Yash Sehgal .

Finally, the entire gathering together sang the melodious School Anthem followed by the National Anthem.
