The Art Department conducted a fun and engaging session for the teachers in the Open Air Theatre on 23rd February, 2024. The teachers were divided into teams and were encouraged to create their own stories using the paintings and art supplies already made available in the venue. Each person has a creative side and attending such workshops help in developing and nurturing that creative spark. The teachers were ecstatic as they got an opportunity to freely express themselves, think outside the box and look at a situation from different perspectives. It will be safe to say that this session left the teachers inspired with new ideas and ignited a deep desire for creativity.

An enlightening session was conducted for the teaching staff on 22nd February, 2024 in the Audio Visual Hall by a team of in-house faculty members. Mr. Sothingam (Performing Arts Department) explained the use of Apps like Filmora and Canva to make fun and creative music videos. Mr. Leimi (Performing Arts Department) showed the audience the use of Green Screen Backdrop for photography and videography. Ms. Aastha Kochar (Sociology Department) elucidated the ways in which an educator can use various design Apps (especially Canva) to further enhance their teaching learning skills. Ms. Shraddha Parmar (English Department) illustrated various creative ways in which a magazine or a story book can be digitally created. Ms. Sanya Taneja (English Department) spoke about the relevance and use of lights with visuals and sound in theatre. Overall, it was an enriching session for the teaching staff members.
The Biology department of Delhi Public School R.K. Puram organized a Guest Speaker Programme on the topic “Happiness Mantra” on 21 Feb.2024 for the students of class VII.The session was conducted by Ms Roshni Mehta,a Clinical Psychologist in the Fortis Hospital, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.
The programme started with debunking myths about Mental health. Ms Roshni stressed on the importance of identifying signs of distress.She highlighted the importance of social, behavioral , emotional , physiological and performance related changes associated with it.In addition to this Ms Roshni shared her expertise to make the students understand the importance of positive attitude, nutritious food, finding time for recreational activities, good sleep to be mentally sound .She created awareness on various aspects and issues related to mental health. She advised the students to adopt a healthy lifestyle, avoid the use of substances and the need for lifestyle management and to seek medical help if required
In the end; she motivated and encouraged the students by sharing the useful tips for performing well in the examination.The programme was followed by a question and answer session to clear the doubts effectively.Overall it was a very interactive and informative session and students enjoyed it thoroughly.They imbibed “Happiness Mantra “for healthy and successful life.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Niva Chhonkar, Head of the Biology Department.She advised the students to have small frequent meals, avoid fried and outside food during exam time. The programme was coordinated by Ms Shalini Chanana, Ms Saveri Lal and Ms Kajal Sethi

A highly energetic session Aerobics was conducted by Ms. Ankita on 21 Feb 2024 in the Music Room for all the teachers. The workshop started with a warm up and stretching Session. This was followed by a highly effective aerobics session.The instructor’s engaging approach and motivational cues created an enjoyable experience for all the teachers.

“The best way to predict the future is to create it.” – Abraham LincolnThe session on foreign admissions conducted on 20 Feb 2024 began with an introduction on the eminent role that a facilitator plays in the foreign admission process of the students. The resource person stressed on the importance of creating a strong profile, documentation support required, career guidance, securing 100% scholarships and deadlines to be catered to. It was an enlightening session for all the teachers present.
“You have a responsibility to make inclusion a daily thought, so we can get rid of the word ‘inclusion.” –Theodore MelfiA session on Inclusive Education was conducted on 20 Feb 2024 to equip our teachers with strategies to deal with children with special needs. Ms. Etishree discussed various strategies like creating a calm and purposeful environment, providing support in whichever way possible, developing a ‘scaffolded’ approach to learning, dealing with low level disruption in a sensitive manner and creating opportunities to listen to all the students. She motivated all the teachers to use these not only in the classrooms but also in their daily lives.
A career counselling and guidance session, for the students and parents of class X, was conducted by DPS RK Puram on 24 January 2024. The resource person, Mr. Jitin Chawla was welcomed and felicitated by the Headmistress Ms. Rashmi Malhotra.
Mr. Chawla guided the parents about the various universities and courses – both present and upcoming. The discussion on various subject combinations available to the students and their viability with respect to various universities and specialisations captured the parents’ interest. The insights into the job market and its requirements formed an important part of this discussion.
The session was interactive with parents asking questions and pitching in. Their queries were answered in depth by the resource person. The session culminated with a vote of thanks by Ms. Kanika Madan.
Session II
An online Stream Orientation Session was organised for the students and parents of grade X on 28th January 2024, in order to orient them towards various subject options available in the school across various streams. The session highlighted the benefits of choosing a specific subject along with its course structure, examination pattern and career aspect. The students and parents found the session beneficial as it addressed many queries which they had.
The school had organized an educational tour to Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya for Class VIII students from 13th to 16th February 2024. With the permission and guidance of the Principal, Ms. Padma Srinivasan, it was facilitated by the Headmistress, Ms. Anubha Gopal.
The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya is a tribute to every Prime Minister of India since Independence, and a narrative record of how each one has contributed to the development of our nation over the last 75 years.The excursion was quite enriching as the museum tells the story of the legacy of Indian Prime Ministers and the history of collective effort, and powerful evidence of the creative success of India’s democracy. The exhibitions were extremely helpful for the students to learn about the history of our country through its Prime Ministers. The entrance was adorned with a 3D printed National Emblem rotating in the air. Adding to the appeal was an artistic mobile installation of multiple kinetic LED lights forming a dynamic pattern of the National Flag representing freedom, progress and growth of the nation . Overall the field trip was an enriching experience that left an indelible impression on the minds of the students , inspiring them to dedicate themselves to the mission of taking our country to greater horizons. The tour was a great learning experience for the students.

Ms. Vishu conducted a workshop on 19 Feb 2024 on Body Tapping and Meditation. She initiated the session with simple stretching and light exercises. Thereafter, she introduced us to the technique of ‘Body Tapping’. Tapping is a type of acupressure that operates on the many meridians, each of which has very particular locations on the body, to ensure the proper energy flow and bring the body into balance. The session helped the teachers in clearing obstacles that prevent the body’s stagnated energy from moving freely, which can improve mental clarity and emotional balance. The session ended with a guided meditation session which helped our teachers feel fresh and focused for the rest of the day.
