INTERACT INSTALLATION CEREMONY 2024

On 3rd September 2024, Delhi Public School RK Puram held the installation ceremony for its newly instated Interact Club, demonstrating the school’s commitment to nurturing leadership and fostering the feeling of community service. The event featured various symbolic and cultural elements that added depth to the occasion. Ms. Charu Lamba as the Master of Ceremony set a graceful tone for the proceedings. One of the early highlights included the collaring of the President of Rotary Club Manthan, a symbolic gesture that signified the transition of leadership responsibilities. This was followed by the formal commencement of the installation ceremony with the playing of the National Anthem, the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, and a prayer by the school choir, symbolizing a new beginning for the club.

A key moment during the ceremony was the introduction and formal installation of the newly chartered Interact Club team. The team, led by President Advika Harisukh, Vice President Ayanna Goel, Secretary Shresht Gupta, Treasurer Advaitt Pahwa, and Director of Public Image Avni Gupta, included 30 members from classes 6 to 12, reflecting student involvement. Their roles were officially acknowledged in a ceremony presided over by the Principal of Delhi Public School RK Puram, Ms. Padma Srinivasan, and the President of Rotary Club Manthan. This part of the event was accompanied by a vibrant cultural performance by the students, with a dance themed on water that not only entertained but also raised awareness about environmental issues. The newly appointed President of the Interact Club delivered an inspiring speech outlining the club’s vision and goals for the coming year, emphasizing community service, leadership, and growth.

The event featured addresses from dignitaries including the Principal, Rotary Club officials, and Rotarian Ajeet Jain, the District Governor Nominee, who spoke about the importance of youth involvement in community service. The President and Secretary of Rotary Club Manthan also shared their reflections on the event, expressing confidence in the new leadership team. As the ceremony concluded, a vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. NK Lamba, the Interact Club’s mentor, acknowledging the efforts of all participants. Finally, Vice President Ayanna Goel and Treasurer Advaitt Pahwa outlined the club’s plans for upcoming activities, setting a clear path for the months ahead. 

FIRST POSITION IN INTER SCHOOL COMPETITION – GEO CATASTROPHE

Ose Gupta of Class X L and Adhiraj Jain of Class IX L secured the First Position in CATASTROPHE, an Inter-School Documentary Making Online Competition organized by Queen’s Convent School, Rohini. The topic for the competition was ‘The Changing Face of Earth’. The participants prepared a short documentary called the Natural Disaster-Avalanche, stating its causes, effects and mitigation, over a period of 100 years.

The Geography Department is proud of this achievement.

ROBO-RACE – TAPSFEST 2024

Members of “Roboknights club Lav Singh and Kush Singh of class VIII-E participated in the Robo-Race (ATL Event) a sub event of “TAPSFEST_2024” an inter school computer competition hosted by Army Public School Dhaula Kuan  and secured  First position

Crossroads – Annual Career Fair 2024

Delhi Public School RK Puram hosted ‘Crossroads’, its Annual Career Fair, on 24 August 2024 at the Junior branch, Delhi Public School Vasant Vihar. More than 160 universities from countries including the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, France, Italy, Hong Kong and Singapore along with more than 35  Indian universities took part in this event. Some of the prestigious universities participating in this mega event were University of Southern California, University of California, SCAD, Babson College , University College London, University of British Columbia, University of Warwick, Singapore Management University, University of Sydney, Bocconi University, Vellore Institute of Technology, Ashoka University and more. 

The representatives of these universities provided information about the latest happenings at the institution, upcoming programmes,research and newly launched centres. They also  answered a range of queries from the potential applicants and their parents. Topics covered in the discussions were foreign education systems, admission process, visa processes, accommodation, fee structure, overhead charges etc. The universities offered multifarious courses and programmes such as Engineering, Management, Business, Architecture, Law, Art, Design, Culinary Sciences, Music and Film Production among other sought after courses. Brochures were provided and information was exchanged between the representatives and students for further communication.  

The event was attended by students and parents of classes VIII to XII, who got an insight into the various aspects of international higher education and the diverse fields available Internationally and in India for students to choose from. This mega fair proved to be a valuable opportunity for both parents and students to not only become aware about the various career opportunities available but also interact with university representatives and gain knowledge about the admission process and future prospects in international education.

Assembly IX-C & IX-D (28-08-2024)

TOPIC: “”योग: कर्मसु कौशलम्””

In the journey of life, every action we take, big or small, shapes our experiences and influences our future. Keeping this theme in mind, the class assembly of IX-C & IX-D celebrated Janamashtami. The assembly began with a soulful morning prayer sung by Aarna, Aman, Chirag, Devansh B, Krishiv, Lucky, Manmeet, Humza, Sara Dey, Shivam B, Shivam K, Vivaan T, Puneet, Aanya, Aaron, Abdul, Abhay, Achintya, Anik, Ashish, Khushi P, Kushi, Madhu, Mishti, Nidhi, Prafull, Prithvi, Rishabh, Sara Vijay, Swastik, Tanishq, Tanishqa, Veer, Viraj, and Yash. This was followed by Advika, Anusha, Sapna, Gauri, Sanvy, and Naisha performing the Krishna Vandana.

Krishiv, Harsh, Prishaa, Vedaant, Sara Vijay, and Sivanta shared their thoughts for the day. The news was read by Akul, Sarthak, Purab, and Tanishqa. To illustrate the theme Anup, Arjun (Krishna), Devansh B, Manmeet, Parul, Rajat, Rakshit, Sunil, Surbhi, Vedagya, Vivaan S, Shivam T, Sunil, Priya, Harshita, Amit, Esh, Jatin, Purab, Prafull, Pranay, Raj, Rishabh, Ronik, Shrestha, Sivanta, Vedanshi, and Vidhi performed a skit showcasing Shri Krishna’s role as a guide and mentor, and reflected on the universal truths embedded in his teachings. Through these performances, they conveyed the message that with great power comes great responsibility and no one should exercise their power in a wrong manner. A soulful group song performance was presented by Aarna, Adwita, Prishaa, Sara, Aanya, Kushi, Madhu, Mishti, Nidhi, Sara Vijay, and Tanishqa.

Thereafter, the energy of the stage was taken a notch higher by an Indian group dance performance by Advika, Anusha, Deepanshi, Gauri, Sanvy, and Naisha. This was followed by a presentation of very soothing Instrumental music by Ankit, Geetank, Krishna, and Purab. The vote of thanks was delivered by the class teachers of 9C and 9D. The comperes of the programme were Adwita, Surbhi, Sara, Vaideesh, Nidhi, Aanya, and Sara Vijay.

The exquisite invitation cards, folders and board were made by Surbhi, Aarna, Arjun, Khushi P, Gauri, Sanvy, Abdul, Naisha, and Mishti. The Digital presentation & E-invite was made by Sara Dey, Rajat, Vaideesh, and Sivanta.

Second Position in Sanskrit Katha Vachan Pratiyogita

The Indian School, Josip Broz Tito Marg organized Sanskrit Katha Vachan Pratiyogita, an Inter School Sanskrit Competition on Wednesday, 28th August 2024. Pehal Goel, student of  class VI B participated in this competition and secured the 2nd position. She also won a cheque of Rs. 3000/- and a certificate.

JUDICIOUS SIMULATION

The competition involved two rounds. In Round 1 (online), participants had to submit a 4-minute recorded speech (2 minutes each For and Against a commerce-related topic) in English. The top 15 entries proceeded to Round 2 (offline), where participants prepared for 30 minutes and delivered a similar speech. Judging criteria included smooth transitions, argument validity, structure, and delivery.

“Celebrations infuse life with passion and purpose. They summon the human spirit.”  – Terrence E. Deal

Delhi Public School, East of Kailash, celebrated its 50th year, its Golden Jubilee, on Saturday, 17 August 2024 at Siri Fort Auditorium, with a spectacular mega event. The show marked the school’s history, from its humble beginnings in 1974, to a school known today for its quality education embellished with latest innovations and technology. The Golden Jubilee Celebrations were an opportunity to highlight the school’s glorious past, laurels earned and contributions made by teachers, students and all other staff members. The Celebrations@50 honoured the past, celebrated the present and embraced the future of the institution.

The programme commenced with a heart warming display of faith and love towards the Almighty through the Lighting of the Lamp by the Chief Guest Sri V.K. Shunglu, Chairman, Managing Committee DPS RK Puram and Mrs. Shunglu. Members of the Managing Committee, DPS Society- Mrs. Namita Pradhan, Shri Ravi Vira Gupta, Mr. Rahul Singh, Dr. Mrs. Kiran Datar, Ms. Vrinda Sarup and Justice Vipin Sanghi and Mrs. Sanghi; the Principal Ms. Padma Srinivasan; the Vice Principals Mr. Naresh Miglani, Mr. Anil Kathuria and Mr. Mukesh Kumar; Headmistress of the host school DPS East of Kailash, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa actively partook in this auspicious beginning. Headmistresses of DPS R.K. Puram, Ms. Rashmi Malhotra and Ms. Anubha Gopal, Headmistress of DPS Vasant Vihar, Ms. Vinita Gupta also graced the occasion.  

This was followed by an Orchestra ensemble that immersed the audience in a rich and mellifluous symphony. The young musical prodigies enthralled the audience with a rendition of MoFunk by the band Advaita, a composition that lifted the spirits of the performers and the audience alike. 

Thereafter, the esteemed guests were felicitated by the Principal, Ms. Padma Srinivasan and Headmistress Ms. Usha Diptivilasa. The eager audience listened with enthusiasm and interest as the Principal addressed them, expressing her gratitude for their overwhelming support throughout the journey. She thanked the Chairman, the Members of the Managing Committee, the Principals of the other branches, Ex Principals and Headmistresses and distinguished Alumni for gracing the occasion and for contributing towards this journey spanning 50 years of excellence in innovative education. 

An Invocation dance followed, which, with each graceful movement aimed at inviting divine grace. 

The Chairman, Managing Committee DPS RK Puram, Sri V.K. Shunglu, addressed the audience, imparting words of wisdom and underscoring the significance of the institution standing tall and proud as an embodiment of excellence in education.                                                        

This was followed by a captivating, short film showcasing glimpses of the Curtain Raiser to the Golden Jubilee Celebrations held in February 2024. The Children’s Carnival, made resplendent with music, dance, games, food stalls, fun and frolic had kickstarted the celebrations. This two day event, inspired and generated excitement for the celebrations in August.

‘Aladdinn Reimagined’ – The story of Aladdin from the iconic 1001 Nights/Arabian Nights, was reimagined with a twist. Music, art, dance, theatre and graphics were intertwined with one another to stage a vibrant, spellbinding, unique, one of its kind production. The gripping tale was brought to life with powerful performances by the young cast. 

Marking the end of the Cultural Programme, a celebratory song was sung to honour the Golden Jubilee of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash. The song was an energetic showcase of the unrelenting creativity and reinvigorating musical talent of the students.

The evening came to an end with a Vote of Thanks proposed by the Headmistress, Ms Usha Diptivilasa, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem.

The Celebrations@50 was a testament to the magic created by more than 300 students, teachers, resource persons and other well-wishers, under the leadership of the Principal and Headmistress of Delhi Public School, East of Kailash.
