India, as a country has faced many trials and tribulations over the ages. From being a witness to numerous wars with outsiders to facing strife within the country, India has been through it all. Quit India Movement, also known as the August Movement, was a movement which was launched at the Bombay session of the All-India Congress Committee by Mahatma Gandhi on 8 August 1942. It aimed at demanding an end to the British Rule in India. However, it was not just the British who had to leave India. It deserved to be rid of social evils like the practice of Sati, illiteracy, child marriage, and discrimination based on caste. We will be considered completely free only when all of these quit India.
