AI in School Teaching By- Ms Bhumi Shah, Fellow and Analyst (Ahmedabad University)

“Success in creating AI would be the biggest event in human history. Unfortunately, it might also be the last, unless we learn how to avoid the risks.” – Stephen Hawking

The National Education Policy (NEP) – 2020 emphasises on the importance of leveraging the advantages of technology while acknowledging its potential risks and dangers. To orient teachers about the same, a workshop on Artificial Intelligence for teachers was conducted by Ms. Bhumi Shah in the Audio Visual Hall on the 26 Feb 2024. The Resource Person explained the use of various AI tools for teachers who were practising the same on their laptops simultaneously. Various AI tools that could accommodate digital project trends, create interactive media and facilitate prompt engineering were discussed in detail in this four hour long session. The session concluded with teachers presenting the timeline/story/concept they made using the tools discussed earlier. It was an extremely enlightening session.
