Vasant Valley School , Vasant Kunj organised the annual ‘ AAJ TAK HINDI VAD-VIVAAD PRATIYOGITA ‘ ( Hindi Debate ) on 2 and 3 August , 2018 . Madhav Krishan Sareen 11N , Nishant Nanda 11T and Sehaj Garg 10M, participated and came second in the prestigious debate.
On 2 August 2018 , the first round of the debate was organised in which 20 schools divided in five groups of four participated , with the top 2 teams from each group qualifying for the next round . DPS RK Puram came first in their group and thus, qualified to the next round. Nishant Nanda was adjudged the ‘ Best Speaker ‘ on the first day in his group.
On August 3, 2018 , the debate was further divided into 2 rounds – First the ‘Turncoat Style ‘ and then the ‘ Parliamentary Style ‘. The debate commenced with all 10 teams (which had qualified on the preceding day) participating in the ‘ Turncoat Style ‘ and top 2 teams qualified for the final which was covered live on ‘ AAJ TAK ‘. The Guest of Honour was Ms. Anjana Om Kashyap , a prominent journalist . DPS RK Puram and the host school, Vasant Valley School , qualified for the finals . In the final round of the debate, the topic given to the teams was ‘ Ishwar Viheen Samaaj Hi Vishv ke Liye Aadarsh Sthithi hai ( A Society without a God is an ideal situation for the world ) ‘. DPS RK Puram spoke against the topic and the hosts spoke in favour of the topic in an enthralling finale.
DPS RK Puram came second in the debate with the hosts bagging the first prize. Upon winning the debate, as is tradition , the hosts passed on the rolling trophy to DPS RK Puram.
