WETLANDS CONSERVATION ACTIVITY

Various activities were organised for classes VI to IX as a part of the Master trainer’s programme organised by Eco club, Delhi, Government of India to create awareness regarding ‘Wetlands Conservation and its Importance’

A wetland is a place where the land is covered by water. Marshes, ponds, the edge of a lake/ocean, the delta at the mouth of a river, low-lying areas that frequently flood — all of these are wetlands.Wetlands are called ‘Ramser sites’ as an international treaty for the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands was signed at Ramsar.There are 42 Ramsir sites in India

As a part of this activity, poster making competition for class VI, Slogan writing for Class VII , Paragraph writing for Class VIII   and Infographic Presentation for Class IX  was organised on the topic “Conservation of Wetlands”. Ms Neelam Ajwani conducted the activity as the Master Trainer under the guidance of Ms Niva Chhonkar,Head Biology Department.
