Delhi Public School R.K. Puram earned significant recognition at the 1st National Summit on the Elimination of Cervical Cancer in India, held from 16th to 18th January 2026 at AIIMS, New Delhi, by securing the First Runner-Up and Second Runner-Up positions in the Youth Parliament segment of the summit.
The three-day national-level event brought together leading clinicians, researchers, policymakers, public health experts, and youth delegates from across the country to deliberate on evidence-based strategies aligned with the WHO 90–70–90 targets for cervical cancer elimination. The summit featured expert lectures, panel discussions, workshops, policy dialogues, and interactive sessions focused on HPV vaccination, screening, early diagnosis, treatment, and community-level implementation.
On the third day, DPS R.K. Puram actively participated in the Innovation Challenge, where the team presented their ideas and solutions addressing cervical cancer prevention and awareness. This was followed by participation in the Youth Parliament titled “Cervical Cancer–Free India by 2030: Myth or Reality?”. The school team, comprising Ahaan Chopra (XI-F) and Kavin Chaudhary (XI-V), demonstrated strong analytical, presentation, and oratory skills, earning them the Second Runner-Up and First Runner-Up trophies, respectively.
The team was mentored by Ms. Niva Chhonkar, Head of the Department of Biology, and Ms. Kajal Sethi, whose guidance was instrumental in their achievement.
