“Nature Nurtures: Let’s Nurture Nature”
On the occasion of World Environment Day, observed on 5 June 2026 with the theme “Climate Action”, the Eco Club of DPS R.K. Puram organised a Tree Plantation Drive under the national initiative “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”. The programme aimed to promote environmental awareness, people-driven climate action, and a sense of responsibility towards nature among students and the community.
The plantation drive was conducted at the identified site in the school’s Sports Complex. A total of 10 saplings were planted by the Principal, Vice Principal, students, teachers, parents and non-teaching staff. The saplings included Cardamom, Amla, Mango, Chikoo, Tej Patta and other native plant species that contribute to biodiversity and environmental sustainability.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all stakeholders, ensuring meaningful community involvement. Parents actively participated in the programme and shared their valuable knowledge and experiences related to environmental conservation and sustainable living. Their presence strengthened the spirit of collective responsibility towards protecting the environment.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal, Mr Anil Kumar, emphasised the importance of nurturing nature and fostering environmental consciousness among young learners. He encouraged students to become responsible citizens and active contributors to a greener future.
The Vice Principal, Mr Mukesh Kumar, motivated everyone to extend the plantation initiative beyond the school campus and urged each participant to plant at least ten more trees in their respective localities.
The programme reflected the school’s motto, “Service Before Self,” and reinforced the message that collective action is essential to address climate challenges. Through this plantation drive, DPS R.K. Puram reaffirmed its commitment to environmental stewardship and inspired students to become champions of sustainable development. The event successfully concluded with the commitment of all participants to protect and nurture nature and continue contributing towards a cleaner, greener, and healthier planet.
