Visit to the Parliamentary Museum

DPS R.K.Puram organised a visit to the parliamentary museum for the students of class IX on the following dates:
30 July, 2019 – Sections A,B & E
31 July, 2019 – Sections F & G
1 August, 2019 – Sections I & K
8 August, 2019 – Sections L & N
9 August, 2019 – Sections C & D

The enriching experience was filled with inquisition and knowledge for the students. The students got a chance to visit the chambers of Lok sabha and Rajya sabha, the Central Hall of the Parliament and also the Parliamentary Museum. This trip was conducted to help the students learn more about the working of the Parliament, the supreme legislative body of the Republic of India. The students were given a brief on the historical background of the parliament. They were explained about the internal working of the parliament.

They also got to see both houses of the Parliament i.e.; the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. They were given detailed information on the functioning of both the houses. After this they visited the central hall, where the first speech post-independence was given by our first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

In the end the students visited the museum where there were statues of renowned leaders of our country. They also enjoyed watching a very informative documentary depicting the transfer of power and making of Indian Constitution. They also listened the very first speech delivered by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on the midnight of 15th August 1947 in the original version. The students had a great learning experience.
