VISIT OF SENIOR BIOLOGY STUDENTS TO AIIMS LABS

On 29th April 2016, 197 students of class 11th and 12th from the biology sections visited AIIMS, New Delhi during their annual program ‘Catalyst 2016’. In the three hour long compact program, the students were shown a demonstration of life saving techniques such as Cardio Pulmonary resuscitation, ALTS and CLS. They were exposed to the anatomy of the human body and physiology experiments measuring various parameters such as BP, ECG and so on. A brief session IOTA-2016 on how to crack IIT and AIIMS entrance examination was also conducted.

Students interacted with undergraduates of the institute and satisfied their queries regarding medical profession, human pathology and stress of examinations.

The registration fee paid by students was donated to orphanages like Angel’s Home Orphanage, Chattarpur to improve primary education and medical facilities for them.

Mr Mukesh Nagpal, Ms Pinki and members of the Biology department including Mrs Kusum Yadav, Mrs Shalini Chanan, Ms Kajal Sethi and Mrs Sushma Sardana, the program coordinator accompanied the students.

While interacting with students later, the Principal, Ms Vanita Sehgal and the Headmistress, Mrs Anita Singh stressed on the importance of having more such exposures for students to make the learning of biology more interesting.
