UNICEF along with CSR BOX curated a discussion forum on Nutrition during 5th Annual India CSR Summit 2018 on September 25,2018 at JW Marriot, Aerocity to showcase FSSAI’s ‘Safe & Nutritious Food @ School Project’ under the Eat Right Movement.
Since DPS R K Puram has been a forerunner in this project the students were invited as Speakers to highlight the activities and share their experiences under SNF@School Programme.
Inayat Kaur of Class V and Himanshi of Class III from DPS Vasant Vihar spoke about importance of sunshine, correct way of washing hands, nutritional value of sprouts, Red & Green Day celebration. Siddharth Pareekh of XI D shared his experience about HFSS food items, Food Adulteration tests, cooking practices that destroy food nutrients and making right food choices.
Ms Niva Chhonkar, Coordinator of SNF@school project, and Ms Rattan Obhrai, Health & Wellness Coordinator of DPS Vasant Vihar, attended the programme. Ms Niva Chhonkar shared the experience of implementing the programme at school. She mentioned that ‘Interschool SNF@school Health Festival’ was organised in DPS RK Puram on 3 February, 2018. A Facebook Page has been created where digital posters with eating right messages are posted. Children are actively involved in SNF@school activities and some activities have been incorporated as Assessment Activity and Holiday Homework.
