THINK SUMMIT 2024

The Think Club of Delhi Public School R. K. Puram organised their annual inter-school fest – Think Summit 2024 on 10th August 2024. The event aims to foster individuality in students and provides to them a platform for experiential learning and innovation.The various competitions included in the event are designed to help students think creatively and develop a solution oriented approach towards the paradoxes of modern life. It has proven to be a potent stage for the students to showcase their exceptional brainstorming abilities.

The event was conducted in a hybrid mode, allowing both online and on-site participation. The summit featured seven engaging events, providing a platform for young talent to showcase their exceptional brainstorming abilities and the transformative power of thinking. Think Summit ‘24 attracted the enthusiastic participation of 28 schools from across Delhi NCR. 

The event was supported and sponsored by Athena Education as well as an individual sponsorship by Mr. Rahul Setia.

Superhero Showdown: The Quest for Heroic Supremacy (Online)

Students of Class VI were supposed to make a poster and share a write up on their own superpowers.The event asked students to introspect and find how they are helping the world. The event was judged by Dr Manish Rawat, an assistant professor from Galgotias University, and Dr. Shivam Mehta, a technical consultant at salesforce.

Intergalactic Adventures: A Journey Across the Cosmos (Online)

In this event, participants from Class VII created captivating  comic strips depicting the various celestial phenomena occurring in the cosmos. The judges Ms. Lijo Jose, the director of operations at HBox.ai, and Ms.Radha Ubarhande, an analytic consultant at BSG, marked the participants on the parameters of their creativity and originality, and the relevance And uniqueness of their presentation.

On-Air: From Studio to Stardom (Online)

Participants, who were from Class VIII, recorded a 1-1.5 minute news clip showcasing an  innovative concept that they identified in their neighbourhood or created themselves, its real world application, and its potential impact on society or a specific industry. The innovation would be discussed in a news reporting format.
The judges for the event were Mr. Nikhar Mathur, who works for Mastercard, and Ms.Anjali Sharma, a skilled developer and a talented artist.

India’s Think Tank: Leading Minds, Transforming Futures (On-site)

Participants from Classes IX to XII were given a list of problems and related criteria attached. The team could choose any one topic and had to pitch their idea in front of the judges. Some of the topics given to the students were-

  1. Exploring the World with Technology
  2. Sustainable cities and communities
  3. Incorporating Charity and Commerce
  4. Incorporating Video Games in Education
  5. Life under water

The event was judged by Dr. Soumyajit Bhar, a founding professor of economics at BML Munjal University, and Mr Gourav Aggarwal, the founder of TheGrowthVibes.

Innovation Marathon: Pushing Boundaries, Inspiring Change (On-site)

This event challenged students to create real world innovations. The bright minds from classes IX to XII were given topics and prompts at the time of the event. Each team chose 4 slips (Industry, Technology, Sensory devices and Mechanical devices), with the help of  which they had to innovate and solve a real world problem. Participants were given a specified amount of time to research their topics over the internet and make a digital presentation based on their innovation. The participants were marked on their originality and feasibility by the judges Dr. Vaishali Kohli, a professor at BML Munjal University,  and Mr. Gaurav Ajwani, a practice lead in Randstad India Pvt. Ltd.

Confabulation: Discussions that inspire (On-site)

The event required students to articulate, express and discuss their ideas. The group discussion aimed to assess the overall thinking-perspectives, thoughts, feelings and behaviour of an individual in a group. The event was deemed by Dr. Manu V. Mathew, an assistant professor at the School of Liberal Arts, Mr. Aseem Sood, an entrepreneur and an corporate professional, and Mr. Vedatman Sonpal

Catalyst For Change: Proposing SDG Solutions (On-site)

The competition aimed to deepen students’ understanding of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by encouraging innovative problem solving through original working models, prototypes or software applications. It enhanced research, presentation, and teamwork skills, culminating in an exhibition where students showcase their projects and engage with their communities to address real-world sustainability challenges.The competition consisted of two rounds:Round 1 was held online where the ten best teams were selected for the final round held today. The ideas were marked on the basis of their Innovation, scalability and relevance by the judges Dr Aastha Ahuja, and academician from Delhi University, and Ms. Sarah Haq, an Assistant Professor in the School of Liberal Studies at BML Munjal University.The Valedictory ceremony began.
