THINK SUMMIT 2022

The Think Club at Delhi Public School R. K. Puram organized the Think Summit 22 on 26th November 2022. Think Summit is the annual inter-school innovation fair organized by the club as it seeks to nurture bright young minds to help them develop innovative skills to create new solutions to old problems through innovation. It was conducted in a hybrid mode both on-site and online.

 

Through its 5 events, the summit gave young minds a chance to showcase their brainstorming capacity and the power of thinking. 

 

The summit consisted of 5 events, of which 3 events took place on-site while the other 2 were held online. The summit witnessed the participation of numerous schools from various regions. It saw healthy competition in each of the events. The Think Club also released its annual magazine Eunoia 2022-23 in the summit, which was released by our esteemed Principal ma’am, Ms Padma Srinivasan. The summit was sponsored by InstaPower LED lighting, Pragati Path, Artiste and Bonton. 

 

Mr Anil Kathuria, the Vice Principal of Delhi Public School R. K. Puram, on behalf of our Principal, Ms Padma Srinivasan, acknowledged the judges for their presence and appreciated the schools and their principals for their enthusiastic participation and gave his valuable feedback to the children.

 

The online segment of the summit consisted of :

  • Green Delhi

In this event, middle schoolers were given a chance to put forward their views and thoughts on how they envision Delhi to become “Green” in midst of the bustling and busy life of the city. The participants were tested on their originality, creativity and innovation as well as their insight on the topic and many other factors. The topics varied from ‘Clean My Air’ to ‘We, the river dwellers’.

  • Design My SuperHero

This event gave participants’ innovation and creativity a chance to save mankind’s future by designing a superhero to rescue the world from imminent destruction. The judges of the event were Dr Manish Rawat, Assistant professor of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Delhi and Mr Rony Das Thakur, Chemistry Teacher at Heritage Girls School, Udaipur. 

The Offline/On-site lineup was as follows: 

  • Ideate To Innovate

Thinking outside the box is difficult because it requires us to explore solutions in the unknown. This task required the teams to set their ideas in motion using innovative thinking and present it to a panel of judges. The participants engaged in group discussions to articulate, express and discuss their ideas for the challenges presented in front of them. This year, the challenge presented to the participants was ocean revival.

  • Confabulation

This event tasked the participants to articulate, express and discuss their ideas. A group discussion aimed to assess the overall personality- thoughts, feelings and behaviour of an individual in a group.

  • India’s Think Tank

This event gave aspiring entrepreneurs a platform to challenge society, ask questions and look for solutions. This event gave a great opportunity to innovative minds to provide futuristic solutions to problems faced by India today. The main theme of the event revolved around farming and innovation. With the able discernment of the judges, Dr Bhavneet Kaur, Associate Professor at Lady Shri Ram College and Dr Prachi Singh, Assistant Professor of Environmental Sciences and Sustainability at Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women.  

 

The Head Girl of the school Oorja Akshara welcomed everyone with a song, to the closing ceremony of Think Summit’22. Mr Anil Kathuria, Vice Principal, Delhi Public School R. K. Puram was invited to the podium for a closing speech. He highlighted the importance of participation and that it is always a learning experience, which is the best part. At the end of the award ceremony, Ms Archna Deepak, Head of the Think Club of DPS RK Puram, delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of the Principal Ms Padma Srinivasan. She expressed her gratitude to all the Principals from various schools for participating in the summit and making it a success. She also thanked the sponsors, coordinators and activity in charges of the event.
