The students of the Expressions Theatre Club of Delhi Public School R.K. Puram participated in the All India IPSC Drama Festival at G.D. Birla Memorial School, Ranikhet from 27th-30th June 2017. A team of eight students comprising of Arnav Singh (XII K), Stuti Banga (XII X), Mehvash Saiyed (XII U), Dyujoy Majumdar (XII G), Gayatri Raghunandan (XII X), Zaina Ali (XII U), Shivam Chopra (XII P), Agnihotri (XII B) secured the first position across a cumulative of three rounds- a 5 minute act, a 20 minute act and a 10 minute on-the-spot act. They were accompanied by Ms. Sudeepta Chatterjee, the teacher in-charge of Expressions Theatre Club.
The students put up a mime act on the acceptance of love in society for the 5 minute act; a one-act play on the grey nature of good and evil revolving around characters of the Ramayana for the 20 minute act and a 10 minute stage play on the theme of terrorism, depicting how what goes around, comes around. The judges, notable theatre personalities from the National School of Drama and from the film industry praised the students for their acting, creative thinking, direction and stage presence.
