Delhi Public School takes immense pride in celebrating the remarkable achievement of two of its distinguished educators, Ms Sarika Kaushal, PGT Computer Science, Delhi Public School R.K. Puram, and Ms Vinita Gupta, Headmistress, Delhi Public School Vasant Vihar, who have been honoured with the prestigious Delhi State Teachers Award 2026.
The award ceremony was held on 5 September 2026, coinciding with Teachers’ Day, at Thyagaraj Stadium, New Delhi, as part of the Shikshak Mahakumbh – State Teachers Awards 2026. A total of 118 teachers were recognised for their outstanding contributions to education across diverse fields. The awards were presented by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta, in the presence of Hon’ble Education Minister Shri Ashish Sood and Ms Bansuri Swaraj.
The prestigious recognition comprised a Silver Medal, Shawl, Certificate and award money of ₹25,000, honouring the dedicated service and contribution of the awardees to the field of education.
Ms. Sarika Kaushal, PGT Computer Science at Delhi Public School R.K. Puram, was honoured under the category of Lecturer – Computer Science. With more than two decades of experience in Computer Science education, she has consistently worked towards making technology learning engaging, relevant and experiential. Her contributions extend beyond the classroom through her work in cybersecurity awareness, digital innovation, AI-integrated education and student leadership.
As the Founder and In-charge of DIGEX and CyberX, Ms Kaushal has created platforms where students explore photography, filmmaking, digital creativity, cybersecurity and responsible technology use. Her initiatives have provided students with opportunities to learn through hands-on experiences, competitions, expert interactions and collaborative projects. As a CBSE Resource Person in Cyber Safety and the Use of AI in Classrooms, she has also contributed to the professional development of fellow educators and the wider education community.
Ms Vinita Gupta, Headmistress of Delhi Public School Vasant Vihar, was honoured in the category of Teacher. Her recognition reflects her dedicated contribution to education and school leadership, as well as her commitment to creating a nurturing and enriching environment for students and teachers. Her leadership continues to reflect the values of academic excellence, holistic development and responsible citizenship that form an integral part of the DPS ethos.
The recognition of these two educators is a matter of immense pride for the entire DPS fraternity. Their achievement celebrates not only their individual dedication and professional excellence but also the transformative role of teachers in shaping young minds and strengthening the educational ecosystem.
