SPOONFUL OF HOPE

Simran Arora is a budding writer and a student, in class XII, at DPS R.K.Puram. Recently, she has come up with a collection of her poems in a book titled Spoonful Of Hope. She feels that one must remain optimistic in life and continue working diligently for one never knows which moment could make one do a double take. She believes that it’s just a ‘spoonful of hope’ that is enough to last a lifetime. Simran has been writing since the day she came in 7th grade and has regularly contributed articles and poems to the school magazines, in addition to being an active member of the Literary Club and editor of magazines like The Bubbling Cauldron, Mathyard,etc. Her passion and love for poetry are truly commendable. Simran is, nonetheless, a scholar student, currently studying Science with Computers (PCMC),who is going to be awarded The Gold Medal for academic excellence for 7 consecutive years, and has already been awarded The Blue Tie and The Blue Blazer.

Being an ace athlete, Simran has been awarded the Gold Medal, the Red Blazer and the Red Tie for exceptional achievements in sports. She is a National Level Shooter (Air Pistol, 10 metres), who has not only won the Gold Medal in the Delhi State Inter-school Championship and the Bronze Medal in the Delhi State Open Championship, but also secured a rank of 10 in the School National Games, where she represented the Delhi Team. She even won the Gold Medal (Team Event) in The Sportscraft Air Weapon All India Shooting Championship and the Bronze Medal in Colonel Jaswant Singh Memorial Shooting Championship, in addition to many more. Simran is also a member of the National Rifle Association and Delhi State Rifle Association.

In spite of winning so many laurels, Simran’s real desire is to be of value to society and she has taken several steps in this direction. She is associated with an NGO called Love Care Foundation. In one of its projects, she addressed over 20 women on issues like the importance of health and safety. She even put up an exhibition, displaying her craft work, and donated all the funds collected to a blind school.

Simran clearly demonstrates that with a pen, one can change the world. By addressing issues like health ,awareness and goodwill, Simran exhibits the value that the school has instilled in her and at the same time represents the views of the youth. Spoonful of Hope by Simran Arora

Simran, contributed the first earnings from her first book of poetry, to the Nepal Relief Fund via Red FM’s new program to help the victims of recent earthquake in Nepal. Simran was also acknowledged by the Health Minister of India, Mr. JP Nadda for her health related poems that help spread awareness.
