SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON MOTHERS’ DAY

“I realized when you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know.” ― Mitch Albom, For One More Day

Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram celebrated Mothers’ Day with great warmth and enthusiasm by organising a series of diverse and engaging activities for the students of Classes IX -X, from 5th-9th May 2025. The highlight of this celebration was a special assembly for the mothers of Class IX students in the AVH on 8th and 19th May 2025. The event was attended by 150 mothers and served as a heartfelt tribute to the unwavering love and support that mothers provide.

The  programme began with a soulful prayer in Sanskrit highlighting the importance of mothers and their boundless love towards their children. This was followed by melodious performances by the Indian and the Western choirs, expressing their love and gratitude for mothers and also recognising their unwavering love and sacrifices.

The students also recited a poem titled ‘Mother’ by Jodi L. Landes, in three different languages- French, German and Spanish -followed by their English translations, which captured the gentle, selfless and enduring essence of a mother’s love.

A Hindi poem and its enactment added further emotional depth to the programme, followed by a graceful dance performance dedicated to the strength and beauty of motherhood. This was followed by a ‘Tribute to Mothers’ wherein students honoured the resilient spirit, the steadfast love and the unwavering presence of their mothers with the help of a photo collage.

Thereafter, the Headmistress of Classes IX-X, Ms Rashmi Malhotra addressed the gathering, highlighting the profound impact of a mother’s love in shaping our lives. She emphasised on the unconditional love of mothers and its impact on our lives. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and the national anthem.

The celebration of ‘Mothers’ Day’ at DPS RK Puram was not just a tribute, but it also fostered deeper connections between students and their mothers, making it a truly memorable and meaningful event.
