SCHOLAR BADGE CEREMONY OF CLASS X

Delhi Public School R. K. Puram hosted the annual Scholar Badge Ceremony for the students of Class X on 20 December 2024. This prestigious event celebrated the hard work, dedication, and achievements of the meritorious students who distinguished themselves in academics and co-curricular activities during the academic year 2023-24.

The ceremony commenced on an auspicious note with the lighting of the lamp by the esteemed Chief Guest,Shri. V.K .Shunglu; the Guests of Honour: Smt. Madhu Shunglu, Pandit Sajan Mishra, Smt. Dolly Chanana and Ms. Ambika Kaul;  the Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar; the Vice Principals: Mr. Naresh Miglani, Mr. Anil Kathuria and Mr. Mukesh Kumar; and the Headmistresses: Ms. Rashmi Malhotra and Dr. Anubha Gopal. 

The programme began with a melodious performance by the Indian Choir, where students showcased a harmonious symphony celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage with a rendition of Rajasthani classical folk song ‘मारु थारे देश में’.This was followed by a short and engaging presentation showcasing the achievements and contributions of Delhi Public School R. K. Puram in the year 2023-2024.

A mesmerizing Kathak dance performance,‘‘वासक सज्जा नायिका”, depicting  the vibrancy of Indian culture, enthralled the audience with its energy and grace.This was followed by a soulful Indian solo song on raag ‘Gujri Todhi’ rendered by a talented vocalist, which left the audience spellbound with its depth and emotion.

The much-awaited Award Ceremony was conducted by Ms Pratibha Sacher and Ms Ritu Raj, the class representatives of class X.This ceremony saw students being recognised  and blessed by the Chief Guest Shri.V.K. Shunglu, Smt. Madhu Shunglu ,Pandit Sajan Mishra and our Principal Mr. Anil Kumar . They were given 161 Second Blue Badges, 03 Second Green Badges, 81 First Green Badges, 52 Gold Medals,1 Red Blazer and Certificate, 9 Red Ties and certificates, 17 Pins and certificates for sports related achievements, 18 Pins and certificates for achievements in the co-curricular category, 05 Certificates of appreciation for sports and 6 Certificates of appreciation for Co-Curricular activities. A special award, which has been instituted by a staff member in memory of her mother, Smt. Swadesh Malik, who was a staunch supporter of education of the girl child, was awarded to a student. For the special award, Rs 5000 cash is awarded to a girl whose performance has shown greatest improvement in class IX.

The Chief Guest, Shri. V.K. Shunglu addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech. He emphasized on the importance of cultivating a positive attitude  and clarity in life. He lauded the talents displayed through the performances and encouraged the students to imbibe the virtues of resilience and determination.

The Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar, in his address, welcomed the Chief Guest and the proud parents of the award recipients, thanking them for gracing the occasion with their presence. He shared his joy in witnessing the students’ remarkable accomplishments and motivated them to continue striving for excellence.

The special highlight of the event was a recital by the Guest of Honour, the renowned Padma Bhushan recipient, Pandit Sajan Mishra, a legendary vocalist in the Khyal style of Indian classical music (Khyal Gayaki) of the Benaras Gharana, whose performance captivated everyone and added a divine aura to the ceremony.

The Headmistress, Ms. Rashmi Malhotra, proposed the Vote of Thanks, expressing her gratitude to the Chief Guest Shri. V.K. Shunglu, the Guests of Honour: Smt. Madhu Shunglu, Pandit Sajan Mishra, Smt. Dolly Chanana and Ms. Ambika Kaul for taking out time from their busy schedules to bless the students. She also thanked the Principal, Mr. Anil Kumar for his vision and constant encouragement and support; the Vice Principals, Mr. Naresh Miglani, Mr. Anil Kathuria, Mr. Mukesh Kumar and the Headmistress Dr. Anubha Gopal for their unwavering support. 

The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, instilling a sense of pride and patriotism in all present.
