She told the students that the world gives them the answer to their problems; they simply have to listen. She quoted George Bernard Shaw’s famous statement, “You don’t find yourself, you create yourself.” following which she narrated an inspiring example of how the school opens up new avenues for its students, and reminded them that they could do anything and be whoever they wish to be. Furthermore, quoting Martin Luther King Jr., “In the end, we will not remember the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends”, she told the students to be gentle with the young, kind to the aged, sympathetic to the striving and tolerant towards the weak and the wrong.
The Western Choir performed the song, ‘If I Had a Hammer’ with great zeal. Emphasising the values of selflessness, empathy and perfection, the stream toppers of Class 11 of the session 2018-19 put up impactful speeches expressing the theme of the event.
