Delhi Public School R.K. Puram hosted its Annual Scholar Badge Ceremony for Class XII on May 14, 2025, honouring exceptional scholastic and co-curricular achievements of our students for the previous academic year. The ceremony recognized students who demonstrated remarkable dedication and talent across various disciplines.
The proceedings began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony led by Chief Guest Shri V.K. Shunglu, Chairman of the Managing Committee DPS RK Puram, Shri Sanjiv Kaura, President of The Times Foundation, Principal Mr. Anil Kumar, and Vice Principals Mr Naresh Miglani, Mr. Anil Kathuria and Mr. Mukesh Kumar; and the headmistresses Ms Rashmi Malhotra and Dr Anubha Gopal.
The cultural segment featured a melodious performance by the Indian Music Society, whose orchestral arrangement set a dignified tone for the occasion with the rendition of “Ek Zidd hi Kaafi hai itihaas banane ko” that further enhanced the cultural significance of the event.
The Principal Mr. Anil Kumar welcomed the Chief Guest Shri V.K. Shunglu, Chairman, Managing Committee Delhi Public School R.K. Puram, and expressed sincere appreciation for his presence despite numerous commitments. The Principal acknowledged the Chairman’s significant contributions toward establishing meaningful benchmarks and providing consistent support for the institution’s ongoing pursuit of excellence.
Class XII RepresentativesMs Lalitha Srinivasan, Ms.Richa Aggarwal and Ms. Sarika Kaushal conducted the award distribution ceremony with professional precision. The institution conferred 154 Gold medals, 32 Blue Blazers, Blue Badge to 2 students, 2nd Green Badge to 8 students, and 1st Green Badge to 71 students in recognition of their outstanding academic performance.Additionally, 75 students received awards for exemplary achievements in co-curricular domains including sports, musical accomplishments, and dance. Two Special awards- the Ishwar Chandra Memorial Distinction for class XI toppers of each section and the Deepanvita Baisya Memorial Commendation was given to toppers of each stream. One student was given an award for 100% attendance.
In his address, the Chief Guest Shri V.K. Shunglu emphasized the importance of valuing the developmental journey rather than focussing solely on outcomes. He stressed the critical importance of identifying one’s intellectual interests and pursuing them with unwavering commitment.
The Vice Principal Mr. Naresh Miglani proposed the vote of thanks. He acknowledged the distinguished presence of the Chief Guest Shri V.K. Shunglu and the Guest of Honour Shri Sanjiv Kaura. He expressed his gratitude towards the Principal Mr. Anil Kumar for his steadfast guidance and vision, the Vice Principals: Mr. Mukesh Kumar and Mr. Anil Kathuria for their constant support and the Class Representatives: Ms Lalitha Srinivasan, Ms. Richa Aggarwal, and Ms. Sarika Kaushal for their meticulous coordination. He extended appreciation to the activity incharges , the Performing Arts department, the Art department, and the faculty members for their valuable contributions. He concluded by congratulating the students on their noteworthy achievements and persistent academic efforts.
The ceremony culminated with the National Anthem.
